Metal Gear Solid V announced-ish?

Danger Burger

Thread Killer
Ladies and gentlemen, Metal Gear Solid V grows closer every minute. The man himself, Hideo Kojima, came out yesterday and blew everyone's socks off. I'm in shock.

There's a good chance one or three of you out there saw the Ground Zero trailer, lots of rain and a boy with a walkman, but seemingly that was just the tip of the Iceberg.

Heres the trailer, and you're god damned right its in 1080p:

So?

Its looks unbelievable (in more ways than one) and alot of that is down to the new FOX engine they've developed. I don't have a fucking clue what it is, but its intense. It's better than real life. It is. Just look:

Scary.

And for the non-believers out there (thats right, I'm antagonising) heres some game-play footage too:

Sure, the game will be 80% cut-scenes anyway, but its nice to know this will look good in between as well.

Jesus, what are we supposed to do with our meagre lives now, but to start saving up. There's no chance this is landing on any current generation consoles, is there? It looks too good.

If there's anything bad I can say its that David Hayter isn't reprising the role of Mister Snake... If that's him at all. It will be convoluted, mostly cinematic watchables and questionably sci-fi, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thoughts? THOUGHTS??

When I saw The Phantom Pain trailer a few weeks ago I thought it was a horror/shooter game and the protagonist/Snake similarities were merely coincidence. Turns out we've been had! Oh, Kojima. :O

The game and engine look spectacular. Sucks that David Hayter isn't voicing Snake.

It's being released on current consoles, there is no mention of it being next-gen.
It's looking pretty good. I prefer the more retro MGS games because they don't rely so much on sci-fi nonsense or mech robots and this looks like it could be another Snake Eater. My only concern is with the story time line, as there are quite a few PSP games between Snake Eater and where this starts off.
