MD40: Titus & Showtime vs. Ty Burna & Vengeance

More questions were asked than answered last week as Titus' encounter with Blade was drastically changed through Vengeance's sudden appearance. The same occured with Corey Payne's encounter with Everest, that being Ty Burna appearing and putting Payne on the shelf. This week, Titus teams up with Ty's opponent last week, Showtime Cougar, to take on the menacing duo. Will their intentions be made clear or will Titus and Showtime be able to knock them down a peg?

Scene opens backstage with Leon Kensworth standing ready with mic in hand to give an interview.

Leon: Ladies and Gentleman, after months and months of trying to get an exclusive interview with this companies highest rated performer, he himself has called my personal pager and requested one right here tonight, so without further introductions, Showtime David Cougar.

Camera turns left to reveal Showtime David Cougar. He is dressed casually in a Showtime T-shirt and sweats, and wearing an expensive looking pair of shades. He has his head cocked back more than usual, in fact almost looking straight up at the ceiling as Leon begins to notice.

Showtime? Show... umm... what are you looking at?

Showtime stares downward at Leon and slowly removes his shades. He then looks back upward and points.

Cougar: Can’t you see Leon? Look up. The light I’m standing under is burnt out. You trying to leave me in the dark? No no, if this is how you think your going to give an interview to the Ratings Champion, then you are going to get a whole blimp load of hate mail from the billions of viewers watching at home who can’t see me?

Billions?

Showtime looks closer at Leon, realizing that he is wearing a purple suit.

Leon, you think these people came to see you? Sure, some of the real cougars in the audience may like your scrawny little tight ass, but not the viewers. Not Showtime’s viewers. Now let us slide slightly this way. No one wants to see your purple ass.

Showtime steps backwards and Leon steps forwards into the partial darkness. Showtime puts his shades back on and Leon speaks.

And you know something Leon, back several months ago this whole lights going out business would’ve bothered me. There was a time when even the sun hiding behind the clouds sent a little chill up my spine. That was because one man sent me crashing faster than a Doug Crashin match, one man made me think that cancellation was more than just a phone call away. Leon, that man made me realize the importance of never underestimating your opponent. I’m sure you know who that man is Leon?

That’s right, that man was a man simply known as Ty Burna. Ty Burna came in hotter than any superstar that’s ever walked through this company, and you know that’s saying a lot when I include myself in that discussion. Ty was once a powerful unstoppable force that I myself could not overcome. The Show had not set his feet in, he was flying high on Cloud Nine thinking that he could walk and talk over every wrestler that stood opposite of him. Do you know what became of that man Leon?

Leon are you crazy? Your a sick sick man to believe such a twisted story, but there is some truth to that. When Ty beat me, I re-evaluated my career thus far. Such lofty goals I had. WZCW World Champion within three months. Grand slam winner within a year. Bang Cheryl Cole... well one out of three isn’t bad.

You had se... I mean you we’re in adult situations with Cheryl Cole, FHM’s Hottest Women of 2009 and 2010?

Way to clean that dirty mouth of yours. Hell Yeah. Why else do you think she’s divorcing from her Soccer playing hubby, but bring your fantasy back to reality of a sec. I looked at these goals and realized how over my head I was. I felt that I was better than every man who laced up a pair of boots, but so far had shown little reason to back it. Ty beating me was the final straw. I decided to escape my fantasy and focus on reality. No more about self image and only about results. I trained hard and started winning. I won two titles and beat almost every challenger that came forward. I sent them all back down to the drawing board, back to rehearsals, and established myself as the star attraction I had already presented myself to be. After I beat the monster Lars, the original Ty Burna of WZCW if you will, I felt I had defeated all my past demons, except for one, Big Dave. Dave and his partner had kept me down early in my career and beating him on the grandest stage of them all, beating him at Kingdom Come, would’ve been the final piece I needed to declare myself ready for the top.

But then something unexpected happened. I fell to the man and through that, I fell back closer to reality. I saw that everything I had done, all the things that I had accomplished so far that I felt defined the great combatant that I was, had all been done out of my own selfish desires, and none of that would mean anything when the grim day comes when I would face cancellation. The fans supported me and I had done little to pay them back for their support. It was at that moment, when my selfish dreams had cost me the EurAsian title, when they cost me the one friend I could say I had in Trevor Steel, that I realized that the only people that I should be doing this for... are the viewers. The fans who scream my name every night and support me through thick and thin, it was now clear that everything I do, would be for them, so when I do finally reach the top of the pyramid and claim the WZCW World Championship, that they would be there to share it with me.

I was unable to beat Dave in our rematch. I must give props to the man as he has been unstoppable in 2010, but Dave one day soon you and me will meet again inside the ring and who knows, it could be for the WZCW World Title. There is no challenge that I refuse to face Dave, and the challenge of beating you is one I will rewind and play over... and over again.

Hold on a minute. Yes Leon I can read your mind just that easily, some pretty creepy thoughts in there, and since you’re stuttering I’ll just say what you were thinking of saying. At Ascension I faced off against Ty Burna, unable to put down one wrestler from my past I looked to take out the other who helped me get my own two feet on the ground and in a match that had the audience glued to there TV sets I was able to beat the monster who demolished an unsuspecting Corey Payne earlier that night. As well at Meltdown his buddy Vengeance steam rolled over Titus. I watched in horror at what these despicable cowards did. Flexing their muscles and destroying the competition in an effort to force management into giving them a WZCW title shot. These two think they can bully their way to the top, well Showtime has a message for them. And that message the viewers at home and the fans live in attendance can tell you.

You two used to be the most feared men in this company, but look at yourselves now. Barely can pick up any wins and you think that by cowardly sneaking up and destroying the competition that you are justified to receive a title shot. You monsters can flex your muscles, shout your lungs out, dance the Charleston or lead a parade to get what you want, it doesn't matter what you do cause me and Titus are going to show you why your plans are nothing more than dream sequences when we mop the floor with you, and beat you from one side of the ring to the next. You guys will bring hell to the ring, but that won’t matter cause we are the holy water, and you can all see it live, this Friday, turn your channel to Meltdown if you want to see us whip some asses. Showtime seems startled by Leon’s loud interruption as Leon quickly composes himself.

Sorry. Can I please, please, say just one thing?

Sure Leon. Why didn’t you speak up sooner.

The crowd laughs and Leon sighs.

With Payne taken out of action and rumors swirling that he may have signed his KFAD contract to face Titus prior to his injury, what are thoughts heading into Meltdown where you could very well be facing your partner, the WZCW World Champion Titus, at Apocalypse?

Well Leon it would most certainly be a dream come true for me if I am chosen to face Titus at Apocalypse. You know my debut in this company began the show after Apocalypse last year, so this would definitely be full circle for me to win the title. The WZCW title is always on my mind, but rest assure my focus will be on the match. I have never had any beef with Titus in the past and have great respect for him as he is the kind of champion The Show dreams of being. When Meltdown hits, we will be a team because we’ll share a common goal, but after Meltdown when our hands are raised, he will know that I am ready to face him. I know management will be watching our match closely to decide a number one contender. I never disappoint my viewers, and I will not disappoint management... because I am The Show and at Meltdown me and the champ... will rise above hell.

The camera is fixed on Titus' dressing room door.

Female: The card is absolutely stacked so far this week
Second female voice: Gotta say sweetie, it really doesn't. I mean outside the Meltdown Main event, there's just not much to get excited about. Titus and Showtime vs Ty and Vengeance is about all.

A door slams somewhere down the corridor, and heels can be heard storming towards the camera.

First Female: Sounds like we might get a little bonus interview in the meantime.

Second female: Time for you to run along then Serra. I'm sure you can find some clueless rookie to flirt with. I'll take this one.

The camera swings to show Tarja walking down the corridor, clearly irate and not happy with all that has happened previously, her red dress billowing behind her. The second female comes into shot as Stacey, who steps in front of Vengeance's valet, causing her to have to try to step round her.

She stops looking irately at Stacey

Tarja: I know you're blonde, and as such lack any modicum of intelligence, but I'm not in a mood for talking right now.

Stacey: And I know you're a ****e and probably on your way to the next client, but your contract states that you have to answer your question.

A look in Tarja's eyes indicates something has pushed her too far. She begins to raise her voice, her accent coming through strongly

Tarja: You know something Stacey, you walk around here, judging me and everyone else you come into contact with. You and Serafina can call me a ****e, anything you want, but the bottom line is, I do what I have to, and the fact that I use what I have to get it, without sleeping with anyone.

Kinda like Becky, Serafina, even you. Tell me... have you ever had to do something that tore you apart, because I have just sold the one thing I loved for nothing.

Stacey: I'm guessing it's to do with what happened last week? Where you went to...

A shadow appears behind Stacey, causing her to look up, mild concern flashing across her face as Vengeance is looking down at her, fury in his eyes.

Vengeance: The fact is Stacey, that is of absolutely no relevance to the match this Meltdown

Stacey turns around to face Vengeance, now firmly sandwiched between the two partners.

Vengeance: I've been listening to your inane babbling, and not once have you mentioned the fact that Titus is teaming with a man who wants his title, against two monsters. Two men sharing several mutual desires, with no regard for either self or others. I mean, you saw what we did to Titus and Payne.

Laid unconscious, and seperated from the things they cared for more than anything in this world.

For the first time, the camera pans down, showing he is holding a black bag. He opens it to show the new title, stolen from Titus the week before.

Vengeance: Titus hasn't exactly had a good run with belts in the last weeks has he?

Last week he threw his belt away, discarded and destroyed. Last week I took this from him, and left him destroyed in the ring, discarded and past his sell by date. Payne finally managed to end up on the shelf despite his best efforts to avoid it.

And so, at Meltdown, the two most dangerous men in WZCW team again to continue the unbeaten alliance.

Stacey: Does being the only non-champion in this match intimidate you

Tarja: Look around. Every other man in the match knows what it's like to lose their dreams. Vengeance is the only man who hasn't been seperated from what he loves.

And he'd better damn well hope that never happens.

Vance Bateman can be seen walking off

Vengeance's icy glare follows him, when he returns to look at Stacey, he turns and walks away.

Tarja looks after him.

Tarja: Ummm... I think that part of the interview's over.

This week Vengeance draws nearer to the goal. And that BDSM obsessed little bit of fluff Ty likes to hang around with better not interfere, or she'll know that not all pain is pleasurable.

She looks at Titus' dressing room, and the lights go out.

They switch on and no-one is left

 

[Ty Burna]

The scene continues after Vengeance and Tarja disappear. Stacey looks flustered as she walks swiftly down the hallway, stopping in front of Showtime's locker room. She brushes her hair back and seems to compose herself as she moves to knock on the door. Suddenly a rope wraps around her waist and she is pulled back. She let's out a scream until she feels another person pressed against her.

Serafina: My dear Stacey, you weren't thinking of trying to convince Mr. Cougar to let you on his talk show were you?

Stacey: N..n..n...no I was on assignment to get an interview for WZCW.com before Meltdown started.

Serafina: I think you're lying Stacey. I think you were hoping to do a few favors for Showtime for a "juicy" interview segment next week. It's a shame you haven't realized it yet.

Stacey: Realized what exactly?

Serafina giggles before loosening the rope around Stacey's waist.

Serafina: Haven't you ever noticed the only two interviewers he's ever had for his little talk show is Leon and Klamor? Now what would that tell you exactly hmmm? That he's not that all interested in having a fine specimen such as yourself asking him the hard....Serafina breathes slowly on Stacey's neck questions.

Stacey's shudders before quickly pulling away. She backs away from Serafina slowly, who has a demented look upon her face. Stacey suddenly bumps into a looming figure behind her. She looks up to see the smirking Ty looking down at her. She pulls quickly away from him as well, looking back and forth between Ty and Serafina.

Stacey: Is that all you freaks do? Hide in shadows to only torture us young beautiful bombshells like myself?

Ty cackles maniacally before walks up close to Stacey.

Ty: Stacey, this is merely a game that entertains my little rogue over there. But it is more than just a game, it is the scent of fear that drives my passion. The same fear that I sense hides deep within Showtime's pathetic mask of bravado.

Stacey: So how do you explain his confidence after defeating you last week on Ascension?

Ty: It's very simple. The Ouija spoke of my loss before I walked outside those curtains. Do you notice any sort of anger or frustration on my face? I refuse to be rattled by a meaningless match. Fate is not upon his nor Titus' side this week.

Stacey rolls her eyes before steadying herself. She flips her hair back again before looking over her shoulder at Serafina, who seems content at the moment playing with her rope.

Stacey: How convenient. You get caught with the Final Act and you claim to know that it will happen. You're making excuses for your failure Ty.

Ty: Does it matter what my reasoning is Stacey? Whether I speak the truth or not has nothing to do with Meltdown this week. While I prefer not to be stuck teaming with Vengeance yet again, I must admit he is the perfect partner to help me make my message perfectly clear to Showtime and Titus. My path to becoming WZCW Champion, and my ultimate goal of creating a world in which Chaos rules supreme, runs directly through them.

Stacey: So why target Corey Payne last week? You have put him on the shelf for an undetermined amount of time.

Ty: I'm surprised you don't get it Stacey. I would have expected you to be far more intelligent than that Becky Serra. I always finish what I start. Titus should thank me. It was clear Payne was going to cash in his title shot at anytime as soon as he was eligible to, so I did Titus a favor by eliminating him from the picture. And if Payne is smart, I took him out permanently. I have opened the gates for chaos to take hold of the WZCW World Title picture. And in chaos, I thrive the most. Even if Vengeance gains the opportunity, I will relish in the fact that it was my doing that caused it, and my final battle with Vengeance afterwards, will result in my goal being achieved. Thus the Ouija has spoken, thus it shall become.

Ty steps back from Stacey, and the lights begin flickering. Ty begins laughing once more as Serafina walks up on Stacey and startles her. She whispers quietly in her ear.

Serafina: I'll see you around, my beautiful bombshell of a specimen.

The lights flicker off completely and then come back up. Stacey is standing alone in front of Showtime's locker room. She takes a few deep breathes before knocking on Showtime's door.

Stacey: Mr. Showtime, may I come in? I would really like to be on your talk show next week. I'd do anything to get on your show.

The feed cuts out.

Backstage we're with Stacey Madison and WZCW champion Titus

Stacey Two weeks ago you became Unified champion of WZCW, however your first match after that you were, lets say, welcomed by Vengeance. What is your take on this situation.

Titus I've been mulling over this all week, how Vengeance cost me the match. Then it hit me, he didn't, simply put Blade beat me, Vengeance did not. I wasn't good enough to beat Blade.

Stacey Why?

Titus I'm very glad you asked that Stacey. VERY glad you asked that, you see there's one thing I've noticed that has gone on since the dawn of this fine company. Every person with the belt has stepped down a gear since they won it, an air of cockiness breeds through them, the likes of Rios and Ricky did it and I for one did it. Remember how I was AFTER the Lethal Lottery? My excitement at even getting the opportunity to step in the ring with the champion.

Titus Then I got cocky, I won the belt and thought I was indestructible..

Stacey But you weren't

Titus Exactly. Tell me someone who is indestructible...anyone you want!

Stacey Erm Superman?

Titus Died in 1992, was brought back. Weakness is Kryptonite, Green Lantern died once, his weakness is the Yellow Power Ring, Spider-man is far from indestructible You get my point, heroes have weaknesses. Yet compare this to the likes of the Joker, Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Doc Oc, they all have weaknesses too, yet they don't admit them. It is the villains who think they're indestructible yet come out and are defeated by the hero realising they are not. Yet a hero KNOWS he has flaws, a hero didn't choose the role, the role chose him.

Stacey So you're saying you're a hero?

Titus I was a masked Superhero for a year, before that I was an actor and now I'm a wrestler. People say that masked vigilante's, actors and wrestlers can't be heroes but every week I hear the crowd “Titus...Titus....Titus” every week an old lady tells me her grandson adores me, every week a teenage girl asks me for a photo for her facebook. I oblige, it's part of my job. However it's time we got the old Titus back, the one who was excited at little things, the one who would go out hoping he won, not going out KNOWING he'd win. A huge difference there.

Stacey So what are your opinions on this week? You're facing Ty and Vengeance.

Titus They are formidable opponents, both have their eye on one goal only and that's the belt I will wear down to the ring. Whilst I could go on about my history with Vengeance, I could go on about the kidnapping of Leon and the destruction he caused...but this isn't the time or the place. He's with Ty who is incredible, they are unbeaten as an alliance. However I have a good partner.

Stacey That is of course David 'Showtime' Cougar

Titus It doesn't matter what his name is! Actually it does, I just felt the need to mock him for thinking he's someone he's not. This guy has something, the way he looks, talks and wrestles, plus a nice guy to boot.

Stacey So you think he'll do well in the match?

Titus I think he will, though he doesn't kna what he's taalkin aboot like gannin on aboot wor chez like shes a slapper and thinks she would gan for someone like him, he needs sortin oot man Stacey pet!

Stacey What on EARTH was that?

Titus That was Geordie. The language of the Gods. However I have some training to do, ciao for now.
