Matt Morgan

Pre-Show Stalwart
I admit I don't ever watch TNA. I keep up with online results and maybe youtube moments here and there. Last night in between NBA Playoffs I was switching over to Impact for the first time in months. I seen the Matt Morgan and Jeff Jarrett match was getting ready to come on so I decided to stay tuned and watch it. Jarrett has always be good enough in my book. He's not 'Great' in ring, but good enough. He is not 'Great' on the mic, but good enough.

I have always been impressed with Matt Morgan's size and I like the 'Blueprint' gimmick so I figured I would give the match a shot. With that being said I think based off this one match, that Matt Morgan is HORRIBLE in the ring. He motions and selling ability were completely off. I was completely disappointed. Morgan i one of the few guys I see as having some WWE potential some day because of his size and that all got shattered last night.

So my question is....Is Morgan usually pretty bad in ring or was this just a bad night for me to catch him?

I was just reading about Morgan sucking and not being all that good on another forum. Morgan is not all that good in the ring to be perfectly honest. He's like Orton. People like him for stuff outside of his wrestling. They llike his look, demeanor, theme song, etc. Morgan can play to the crowd in his matches, he's got some charisma, and he's made up some nicknames and catchphrases which all help him out for what he sort of lacks in the ring. He's got the agility but he continues to lack something in the ring. Something I can't point out. It's like he's awkward or sloppy the way he moves or something. Something is off about him. He gets credit tho because he does try to improve and knows himself that there is room for improvement in his inring game. He seems to take his craft seriously but he's not ready to move up the ladder yet and become world champ. He's the type that needs a stepping stone title like the TV title before watching to see if he can go for the World title. I hear others in other places give praise to Crimson and feel Crimson is the big man of TNA that should be pushed to the sky.

Yes, he is horrible. Everybody has got this mentality that he is good becuase he's tall, nope. He is overrated by people who love him, he can't strike, he cant give a good clothesline, his moves suck, he's just a big ball of suck that is on television.

Worst of all, he's just a taller Michael McGillicuty, but with less talent.

This is an example of booking stars in matches. This is where creative needs to be very careful with how certain stars are being booked and who they put in the ring. I watch the match last night and thought there was something off about that match. Even though the match was short, it looked like Matt Morgan wrestle horribly that night. Now everybody has their good nights and bad nights. I don't know what to say about this one.

Look and Matt Morgan vs Hernandez for example. I remember someone told me that their last match sucked. This is an example where a wrestler can't have a good match with just about anybody. Put Matt Morgan in the ring with Kurt Angle and I bet Kurt would make Morgan look great in the ring. You are right it was completely off. With that being said are you nervous about Matt Morgan vs Scott Steiner?? because from what I seen now I don't know if their match at the next pay per view is going to be that good or one of Matt Morgan's best match. Sometimes two big guys don't have a good match. I think that is something that the fans need to be aware of right now

I like Matt Morgan and not necessarily for his in ring ability honestly..... The guy has charisma and in this buisness that goes a long way .... His gimmick is solid he's comfortable on the mic and his size is intimidating now.... IMO what needs to happen is to build his in ring chemistry with some top tier wrestlers like steiner perhaps though he's old he has an incredibly remarkable in ring skill with a great collegiate background ...... Morgan just needs to be in the ring there is no substitute for experience maybe change up his moveset a little and he'll be fine I think

This is the thing that get's me about the IWC. "Oh, his match with Jeff Jarrett was awful. I hated it". Yeah? Well I'm sure it's better than any match with Jeff Jarrett you've ever had. Morgan goes out there and never looks like he's half-assing it. He always looks like he's trying his best with the time and opponent he is given. I may not find his wrestling interesting, but I respect him for caring about what he's doing.

I don't particularly like his style or find him that entertaining to watch it the ring. But he's a better wrestler than anyone in this thread commenting on how bad he is. It's a weird dynamic.

Were not talking about if he can put on a better match than you or me, we are talking about Matt Morgan. Obvioulsy he can wrestle better than you or me (maybe :) Thats why he is in TNA in the first place right? I do agree with the majority though. Matt Morgan is just not entertaining and would not be anywhere close to where he is today if it wasn't for his height. He bores me completely and whenever he is in the ring I find it hard to not change the channel. God forbid he ever becomes champion.
