Just announced by TNA. Matt Hardy is set to appear at TNAs upcoming NYC tapings with a Hardy Boyz reunion already set. It's worth noting that news reports of TNA reaching out to ROH talent had been going around. Matt and Jeff have been touring as a team in the indies as well. Also, its being billed as "Matt & Jeff Hardy". No "Willow".

I get that sinking feeling. Matt's gonna turn on Jeff. I mean the show is in ROH territory. Where Matt is totally despised. I feel Matt vs Jeff may come our way. Probably for Destination X.

Dang it and I was looking forward to Destination X.

I do not like Matt Hardy and I'm sick of these Hardy Boys reunions. It's been done and the results haven't worked. This means another few weeks of whatever Matt's latest "new character" is which translates to "I'm going to be all stoic and serious and then wrestle the same as I always do as a heel". This is nothing we haven't seen before and as will be the case with almost everything at Destination X, it won't mean anything a month later. Not interested at all.

I doubt that, very much. Not that he's going to be at the NYC shows, rather that he's gonna turn on Jeff. I think they're gonna reboot the tag division and use the Hardy's again there to give the Wolves legitimate teams to work with.

There was a report that the Wolves haven't been happy with their TNA run so far, and they are clearly the future of the division, which is clearly struggling to maintain relevance.

Without knowing any of the details about Matt's ROH or TNA deals, I can't imagine this is a long term thing. I mean, I'm sure Matt has more leeway than a lot of guys on the roster for something like this, but I have to assume his ROH deal, whatever it is, won't allow him to do more than just a quick cameo in TNA.

Even if it's short-term, it's still part of what I hope is a reboot of the division, which probably includes a short run with the reunited Team 3D as well.

The Wolves need legitimate talent to work with. Going over on the Hardyz and Team 3D would help them a ton too.

I totally agree that wins over those teams can go a long way as far as legitimizing the Wolves, but having legitimized tag champs doesn't do much for the almost non-existent tag division.

It gives TNA the time to reboot it, Homie. You stay focused on the Hardyz, then Team 3D and the matches the Wolves will have against them, and in the meantime, the Menagerie establishes a duo, the BroMans continue and you maybe bring in or develop another two or three teams in the background behind the main event matches that are happening.

Another thing to mention here is that Bully Ray has apparently been very protective of how the Wolves have been handled in TNA and is said to be really high on them, so you know he's just itching to put them over in a big way.

I smell a major Bound For Glory good guys moment. Wolves versus 3D for the titles. If the Wolves win, 3D is over, and the Wolves win in epic fashion only to have 3D celebrate with them in the ring after, sorta crowning them as the new dominant team in TNA.

Nah it's far more cynical than even that... This is the time 3D AND The Hardyz have to put themselves in the "shop window" if they're ever gonna get that last McPayday from Vince... As good as Bubba is now as Bully, he's still gonna need D-Von to go back...they won't push him as a singles but there is one "last run" there as a team... For Matt and Jeff it's kinda the same but different. In Jeff's case, he wants one last main event run in WWE, free of the demons and hopefully from his side controversy.... Matt wants redemption and to an extent he is getting it in ROH, he is their best heel and is certainly better than most of what TNA has to offer and a good portion of WWE (ADR I am looking at you...) He's not getting a "world title in WWE" now but a good short reign in TNA is not out of the question, he's the kind of guy who can show up...beat Eric Youing, drive the fans nuts by doing so and lose to Jeff, or whoever they deem thereafter... Transitional sure, but from his perspective a good thing.

Those 4 guys on a roster and working against each other is going to be fun.... even if they'll probably treat it as a dress rehearsal.

From what I have read previously, Matt doesn't have an ROH contract. He just works per appearance because they don't use him that often. He does most TV tapings and some big events but he isn't on all the live shows/road rage tapings. So I don't know from what I think I've read previously if anything ROH has can prevent him from doing it.

But here's what I do know, it's very odd that right after a report that TNA is trying to get ROH guys in and after Court Bauer who works for ROH acknowledged the reports and said internally they know it's happening that this is announced. Obviously we don't know the details but Hardy is still booked for this Sunday's PPV and chances are he is now going to be booed out of the fucking arena, because while it won't be NYC, people forget that TNA has distanced itself a lot from its Nashville "roots", so much so that when ROH ran in Nashville at the start of the year a lot of Nashville wrestling fans went because they don't get that much wrestling anymore, so him doing this will still probably get him nuclear heat he regularly attains.

I beleive, though I may be mistaken, his deal with ROH is a per appearance type of deal. Though if this means he's done with ROH then I'm more than find with that, I'd much rather he take his boring overrated schtick to the wrestling show I almost never watch rather than the wrestling show I can't wait to watch every week. It'll also help TNA's tag division in the short term immensely.

Good God, no. Their retirement match against the Machineguns was good enough in my eyes. If I had to pick between Matt's beer belly and Devon's beer belly, I'd pick Matt's every single time. Matt is at least entertaining. Even if it's because he's batshit insane. If TNA is looking to bring in teams The Hardys are more than enough. We do not need two nostagia acts in the same division especially when those two seem attached by the hip.

Well they always shat on him. Maybe that's what he wanted. It's Matt Hardy after all and he'll seem to do anything to get attention. Even if it's negative attention.

I can see Matt turning on Jeff (again). He's arguably the most hated star on ROH's roster, and as been stated, NYC drops loads of heat his way. From a long term perspective, a Hardy/3D reunion could boost the tag team ranks as far as giving the rub to a team like the Wolves. But this will probably only last for a few weeks or so. Outside of the Wolves, you have Bromans and maybe Magnus and Bram. It's gonna take more than the Dudleys and Hardys to expand on what they currently have for the division.

The general consensus from most ROH fans I know from forums and Twitter to this is that if he wants to work for TNA, then ROH should finish him off this Sunday by having Jay Briscoe kill him and then send him on his way. Matt's ROH run has been very good from an entertainment standpoint, hes been entertaining, hes been an actual heel who people love to hate which in wrestling nowadays is rare. His promos have been good, hes been creative, but there's only so much he can do in ROH because in-terms of wrestling ability he can't hang. So he has to continually churn out good promos to stay entertaining and he doesn't have that much material, his material is usually the same thing but with whatever Adam Cole or Michael Bennett are doing, but he finds creative ways to convey them.

I'm actually potentially interested in how this could turn out. We missed out on a reunion between Jeff and Matt during Matt's last run with TNA, due to it mostly coinciding with Jeff's post "Victory Road incident" hiatus. Now that both men are clean(or atleast assumed to be mostly clean in Matt's case) it would be nice to see what could result in them having another nostalgia run as a team in front of a national audience.

Hardys vs. Team 3-D vs. The Wolves vs. Beer Money in Full Metal Mayhem for the straps at Destination-X? Book it and see how many people you can pop for the rating in that quarter hour.

I wonder if Matt is coming back to some how make Willow come to an end. I'm not a fan of Willow and even though they have mentioned that it's Jeff Hardy it's still one the companies most recognizable names/faces behind a mask.

I would take Matt back over any of the names I've seen mentioned for returning at Destination X, or anyone currently in the X division. the X division is weak as are most of the names I've seen associated with it. I think it's a shame Sanada is still champion, and hope he does not cash in against whoever would be champion.

There was rumour of a ONO taping in NYC, if there is then with the Hardy's, Wolves, Team 3-D, it would be a great time to have a tag-team ONO.

I don't know whether Matt would be suited going for the X-Division title, he might struggle keeping up with Sanada or Tigre Uno, I'm not sure where Aries is going. They've got Zema Ion, Crazzy Steve, Kenny King & Manik so they've got at least a foundation for the X-Title, Evan Bourne would be a good fit.

I'd really enjoy seeing a short-term run from both the reunited Hardy Boyz (who are my all time favourite team) and the Dudleyz/Team 3D in TNA, and getting wins over these teams would be great for The Wolves, as they look to establish themselves as the new kings of the tag team division in TNA.

I'd be disappointed to see Matt turn on Jeff if that happens, as I think TNA would gain more from a Hardyz/Wolves/3D feud than a Matt Hardy v Jeff Hardy feud, but as Matt is a top heel in ROH now I wouldn't be surprised to see a swerve happen- this is TNA after all.

If the Wolves-3D-Hardyz do end up feuding, I'd expect some really good matches, because as THTRobtaylor has already said, if either Matt/Jeff or Bully/D'Von are hoping for a last WWE run as a tag team (or in singles), then this would put them back in the shop window.

Matt isn't in that bad shape at all these days, sure he's always gonna drink but he seems in the main to be in a good place and looking as good as a near 40 year old guy who hasn't been on the roids can.

If Bully has re-signed recently or agreed to stay then D-Von was probably part of the package. If he has to take less cash etc then he's gonna make sure his buddy is taken care of and perhaps more importantly, that he can make the shortfall up through 3D merch.

A lot of people are also forgetting that there is one VERY good match/feud they can revisit... MVP v Matt. That alone is worth him coming in for.
