Marvel gains Daredevil creative movie rights back.

Fox's attempt at a new Daredevil movie fall's through at the last possible second.

Well about a week ago Fox tried to strike up a deal with Marvel in which they were given an extension on their time in which they have to make a Daredevil sequel or else the rights go back to Marvel. Marvel was going to okay the extension in exchange for other Fox owned Marvel characters such as Galactus and Silver Surfer but Fox didn't want to budge on a huge character such as that and could not reach deal with Marvel. Their deadline of October could not be met so as of now a Daredevil movie produced by Fox is dead, Marvel gains DD's rights back. Some could say Daredevil was already dead after the Ben Affleck movie but would you want a sequel made by Marvel? Now I know Fox and Sony have firm grips on franchises such as Spiderman and X-men but what other Marvel franchises would you want them to acquire again and reboot?

Idk about a sequel since the original was so poorly received. They should probably do a reboot and go back to Daredevil's origins prior to the incident that caused him to lose his sight. Kinda similar to Batman Begins.

I was hoping Marvel would get Galactus. Out of all the supervillians, I wanna see him in live-action the most. Those tools at Fox messed that up in the Fantastic Four 2 and I don't think the Silver Surfer spinoff will ever be made.

I can't actually think of a guy who would be a good Daredevil (aside from Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt)

I'd like to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt have a go at it.

Also goddammit, Fox played hardball to keep Galactus even though there is not enough interest in the Fantastic Four after their movies to make a third. I wonder what the timeout is on the Fantastic Four movie rights?

About two three years I assume. Fantastic Four 2 came out around 2007/8. Fox kinda rushed the new Spiderman into production so I think Fox has about 2/3 years to make a new Fantastic Four movie

Interesting that Fox value two characters more than a whole franchise. If they'd let Marvel have the Surver & Galactus back for a movie they could've had longer to prepare their Daredevil reboot.

so, in 2/3 years then Fantastic Four and all of their associated characters will go back to Marvel unless Fox make another movie. Which includes Galactus and Silver Surfer

I don't think Fox do, I think Marvel does. Galactus is one of Marvels serious bad guys, one of the guys who would be a real threat to the Avengers. They wanted Galactus because they wanted him in the Avengers, Fox doesn't make money from that so they're being dickish about letting Marvel have back two characters who, in all likelyhood, they are never going to use.

Technically Fox has till I beleive Oct. 10th to start filming, if they really really rush through the pre-production they might be able to make a shitty Daredevil movie happen. In all honesty I think Daredevil is one of those characters that would work much better as a weekly tv show than a big budget movie, & that's what Fox should do, if they were able to put together a Daredevil TV show it would've allowed them to keep the film rights. Also the "trade' Marvel wanted supposedly only meant Marvel would be able to use Silver Surfer & Galactus in their upcoming movies, which would've been nice seeing as how they're clearly going with a Infinity Gauntlet storyline for the next Avengers, & have already announces they will be making a Gaurdians of the Galaxy film as well. This basically means both studios would have access to use those two characters when & where they see fit, if this is true then I think it was pretty fucking stupid of Fox to turn such a deal down, that or it just shows how little they value the Daredevil franchise.

The Fantastic Four reboot is already in pre-production & is going to happen, the guy that directed Chronicle is going to be directing it, & no I don't beleive he has any plans on making it a found footage film.
