Mark Henry at Wrestlemania

Henhouse

Occasional Pre-Show
So, assuming Mark Henry is fit for Wrestlemania - what do you think the WWE will decide to do with him?

When he's given the opportunity to do so, Mark Henry can be a solid main eventer for the WWE. At Wrestlemania, it's unlikely that he'll be involved in a major match (eg, The Streak) but it's probable that he'll feature in the show somehow. What do you see him doing? Will he be a heel or face? Assuming that there are no plans for title unification, could he be in the World Heavyweight Title match?

Give me your thoughts so I can print them off and put them on my wall and perform satanic acts upon them.

He was a face before he left and I think he will come back as one. I could see him facing Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. It should've happened last instead of another failed Jack Swagger push. Its a match that hasn't been done and I think they would work well together and Del Rio would be able to carry him to a good match. Henry could be the dominant monster face and Del rio would be the cowardly heel.

I don't see him making the card this year. As the 30th Mania even the card is going to be stacked full of the elite. Henry isn't part of that club.

Even people like Del Rio, who've been dominant throughout the year, are going to struggle to get a match on the card. And if they do, it'll be a minor role in a match invoing multiple superstars.

He might make a pre show battle royal for a US/IC title shot but he wont be in a singles or tag team match. He is too injury prone for WWE to build a big story/match around him. I think he is in the same position Christian is in. He's had his time, titles and big matches and now is the time to retire

I was actually thinking who would be the "best" superstar not on the card - this years Cesaro, Sheamus, Bryan etc. Initially, I thought either Henry or Christian (for similar reasons).

With Henry, the injuries are having an effect. He can't build momentum, heel or face and that is an issue. To be honest, the first question is whether to have him as a heel or a face. He has the look of a heel and plays the role well but he is a likeable guy that is near the end of his career. It is difficult to think of a good feud for him and I doubt that he would get a shot at either World title. He is, however, a perfect person for a title match at the Royal Rumble.

For WM, it is very difficult to place him on the card. He is hardly a must-see wrestler. At best Henry will be in a multi/man match.

My biggest fear is that his only contribution will be a backstage segment with Mae Young.

After the results of WM29, I don't know how anything can be accurately predicted for Mark Henry. He had returned in February 2013 from one of his long, long injury absences, leaving him little time to build up a feud worthy of a Wrestlemania appearance.

With not much to go on, the powers that be gave him Ryback, in what was sure to be a victory by the younger guy, given that Ryback had just come off a series of matches for the world championship and was a much hotter ticket than Mark.

So, naturally, Mark Henry wins. I was totally surprised.

For that reason, I can't imagine who Henry will face at WM30.....nor does it matter much, unfortunately. Whatever momentum the big guy can build up, both before or after the big event, will probably be negated by another lengthy injury time-out. Same old, same old.

I doubt the company is going to invest much time, effort and $$$ in Mark in the future.

I was thinking either he won't make the card OR he will be in involved in a big match. Seeing his new look and the fact that he is a very solid upper-mid card guy, I could easily see him getting a possibly World title shot. I was thinking possibly Mark Henry vs Alberto Del Rio for the World title as a possibility. I would also not be surprised if he did not make the card, considering he has lost direction since his feud with John Cena. With all the other names out there including RVD, Sheamus, The Shield, Wyatt family etc....he will struggle to be relevant IMO.

Even though Mark Henry is advertised on one of the early WrestleMania posters along with Cena, Orton, Taker, Punk and, I think, Del Rio, it wouldn't surprise me if he's not really on the show this time around. Even if he is, I'm not expecting him to be involved in anything particularly major.

I thought Henry was brilliant during his feud with John Cena earlier this year. Even though you knew that there was no chance of Henry winning, they still put on a great match. Henry's "retirement" speech was a thing of beauty that caught EVERYONE off guard because it was so damn sincere. It may well have been the greatest bit of acting any wrestler in any sort of role has ever done. The fact that Cena frequently sold that he was intimidated & wary of Henry afterwards only made it all the more enjoyable to me.

Unfortunately, as others have already pointed out, Henry's had problems with injuries off & on for quite a while. If I remember correctly, I read that he was working hurt during his program with Show & Bryan in early 2012. In February, he suffered a hyper extended knee and spent the next few months putting over other guys like Bryan, Sheamus & Punk before taking time off in May to undergo surgery after losing to Sheamus at Extreme Rules. He was gone for the next 9 months and came back to ultimately feud with Ryback for a bit before moving onto Cena. Since then, he's suffered a hamstring injury in August and has been taking time off.

Given his more frequent injuries, I don't see WWE considering him very reliable, though I could be wrong. Henry's 42 years old, he's someone that's been well north of 350 pounds for most of his life. According to an interview Henry gave to Sports Illustrated back in '09, he was 5'5" and 225lbs when he was in the 4th grade and could squat over 600lbs as a high school freshman. So factor in Henry's age along with his weight, the physical strain on his body via powerlifting and the wear & tear of life as a pro wrestler; there's the potential for a ton of health issues.

If Henry is involved at WrestleMania, I see him being involved in some sort of tag team match where there's someone else there who can step in to cover for Henry if it becomes necessary.

Because it's WM30 I could see maybe a money in the bank match with a lot of they guys they want on the card but can't find a spot you know

Or maybe he is put in a tag team match for the belts

And my last guest I thought the was talk of him vs big e that could still be in play with Henry being the heel

Ever since 2011 Mark Henry has officically elevated himself to a level that most people didn't believe he could reach. Mark Henry has been treated like a much bigger deal ever since then & is now even on the Wrestlemania XXX poster to help sell tickets. So while it is the 30th Edition of Mania & the card will most likely be packed full to begin with, I see Henry getting some solid time to shine.

The match I most want to see from Henry & the match I think we will get is Mark Henry vs. Big E Langston. That way Henry gets a solid singles match at what will no doubt be one of the biggest Mania's of all time & Big E can get the win & a decent babyface push out of it.

Completely agree with this. Would love to see Big E win the Intercontinental Championship from Axel and hold it for a while. This would be the perfect match to help him continue to get over. They completely stuffed up by having Henry beat Ryback last year, in what was a lackluster match. Not that I was disappointed, I'm a huge Henry fan, but Ryback needed that win. I think Langston is a bit more athletic then Ryback as well, but just as powerful, so I think it'd be a pretty good match. It would be a great spectacle seeing Langston hit the Big Ending on Mark Henry at WrestleMania!

So yeah, for me: Mark Henry vs Big E Langston (c) for the Intercontinental Championship

Big E vs Henry that's the match for him...let Big E win and cement his spot as a major player.Surely both of them need to be part of Elimination Chamber

Including MARK HENRY in the corporate storyline will not be so tough...If he wrestles at WM30 it should be against another big guy....BIG E, BIG SHOW, KHALI, anybody...
