Madden 12 Cover Vote

Kinda confused exactly what it its, but if those are the only people in consideration, that's fucked up. There's some people that should be on there over others. I voted Hines Ward in his match up. I also don't think guys like Vick, Larry Fitz, Drew Brees, should have been picked. The two other teams may have been a little harder, but I mean...DeSean Jackson coulda replaced Vick, Reggie Bush maybe, Beanie Wells if they have too, Steve Breaston! I think if they were on the cover before, they shouldn't get it again, that's mostly towards Brees, he was just on it last year. If for some reason he's on it again, I won't buy the game. Hell...I'll print out a Big Ben cover and replace it with the cover they make.

Clay Matthews wasn't even on there. I guess they kept it one person per team, and it looks like the match ups are division based. Kinda reminds me of our very own WZ tournament. And what the hell, I love Hines Ward and all, but I would rather see Ben on there, or even Mendenhall. They won't make it Ward anyways.

This whole thing in my opinion is stupid, some fans don't even know how to vote correctly, and were gonna get somebody like Brees on the cover back to back, or that 12th man shit. They should just put Rodgers of Clay Matthews on it.

Aaron Rodgers gets my vote. Along with anyone who opposes Hines Ward.

They chose one person from each team Sully. I'd assumed they talked to everyone they have selected and got an okay from them to use them on the cover. I'm guessing some of the bigger name guys gave them a no and that is why we see people who you wouldn't expect. I like the 12th man idea, I think it's pretty legit, but I can't see Rodgers losing this battle.

I hope the 12th man doesn't win. Then they'll all get hurt.

I'd like to see Vick get it. However, I miss the old days where they chose the cover athletes. This takes all the excitement out of it and makes it a popularity contest.

Scarily, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets (whom have one of the largest Social Media presences in the NFL) and Mark Sanchez win. I'm hoping against it, because I don't want Sanchez to be riddled with the Madden Curse. I'd actually like to see Jake Long or Jordan Gross get it, because Linemen don't get the respect they deserve.

Agree on the lineman winning. Having the 12th man winning would be an interesting aspect to the game where they can have crowd noise play a part in the game (ala the NCAA games). I'll have no gripe with whoever gets voted cover athlete.

Believe it or not, I'm also pulling for Rodgers. He deserves it without a doubt. Although it's useless, as he'll never make it...but Hines Ward will also have my vote..I'm pretty much obligated to vote Hines no matter what.

Sadly Ben Roethlisberger wouldn't get any votes anyways, although he deserves it too. Pretty much either way, whenever the game comes out, I'll hunt down that Madden 12 cover I had Theo make me last summer, and replace it with the original cover.

That's my main problem with the cover athlete thing now.

Back in the day, whoever was the cover athlete generally played the position that got the most changes in the new game. Now the cover athlete thing means nothing for the game, and it's just a popularity contest.

I remember when Ray Lewis got the cover, and they made all the changes to defense, I fucking loved it. Last year, Brees wins, and all that means is he does the intro video for the game, whoop dee do.
