I guess I'll make both threads.

It’s not official yet, but it is expected that “Macho Man” Randy Savage will be announced tonight on Raw as the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2015, WWE.com has learned.

One of the most colorful characters and most popular Superstars in WWE history, fans worldwide have been clamoring for Savage’s induction since the hallowed Hall opened its doors. Even WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin broached the topic in his must-see live podcast on WWE Network with Mr. McMahon just weeks ago. The WWE Chairman said that Savage would “definitely” take his place in the Hall of Fame, though he did not indicate when.

A former two-time WWE Champion, Intercontinental Champion and WCW Champion, the late “Macho Man” also took part in what is considered one of the greatest matches in sports-entertainment history when he battled Ricky “The Dragon Steamboat at WrestleMania III.

The 2015 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place on Saturday March 28, the night before WrestleMania 31, at San Jose's SAP Center. Tickets for the event go on sale this Saturday at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.

Will “Macho Man” Randy Savage take his rightful place in history and be enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame? Tune into Monday Night Raw, live tonight at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network, to find out — plus, be sure to watch WWE Network throughout the day for updates on this major announcement!

Hopefully this is just building it up and not just a stupid tease that goes nowhere. Macho in the HOF is long overdue and will lend it that much more credibility with him in it.

They'd be playing with fire baiting and switching on this... The deal is done, I am hoping it's Randy AND Liz who are both announced as it's kinda crucial they both go in together... It also makes up for the awkward lack of a qualified Diva/womens wrestler this year.

After Warrior's death I am betting this will be a straight down the middle induction and ultra respectful.

If they're smart they could over the coming weeks link to HOF nominee's Rumble performances, perhaps show some of Savage's Rumble promos and if others go in who have particpated show them too... would help build some excitement and context again outside of "The Road To Wrestlemania"... in Savage's day that wasn't there, he wanted to win it for pride and always did strong promos about "not betting against him to win".

I don't see WWE pulling a bait & switch on something like this, it'll piss off too many people during a time when there's not a lot of positive feedback about the product as a whole. Plus, tickets for the HOF ceremony go on sale this weekend if I'm not mistaken and there have been people clamoring for Savage to be inducted since WWE resumed having the HOF back in 2004. So, seeing Savage get the recognition he deserves is a major enticement to jack up ticket sales for the event.

According to various reports, Hulk Hogan will be the one to induct Savage. I'm assuming that Lanny Poffo, Savage's brother, will be accepting on his behalf. Last week was the first show of 2015 and aside from the title match at the Royal Rumble now being a triple threat, nothing happened on last week's show to most of us excited about WrestleMania season. However, the possible announcement of Savage's induction as well as Brock Lesnar & Daniel Bryan both being on tonight's show sounds promising. They're going head to head against the college football championship game tonight, so they definitely need to put on a strong show tonight.

If this is legit old school fans will be very happy, and they probably will have tears in their eyes just like at WrestleMania VII with the reuniting with Miss Elizabeth.

There is no way that a bait and switch will happen. This induction has been rumored for a while. Austin even questioned Vince about it on his podcast. As for the poster that mentioned Miss Elizabeth joining him, I highly doubt that will happen due to her death, and the manner of it. Rather unfortunate, as I would have loved to have seen her in the hOF. Due to the fact of there being no worthy female wrestlers this year, I wouldn't be surprised if WWE appeases Edge or Taker and induct one of Beth Phoenix or Michelle Mccool

This should have happened a long time ago. I don't know if Liz is inducted too since she was abusing drugs when she died just like Chyna is deserving but has her own sordid past.

Good look on the WWE getting Macho Man in the Hall of Fame. I'm surprised they have Hogan inducting him because of their history.

Had Warrior not died last year, I'd think he would have been as good as anyone to induct Randy. I still believe Steamboat or DDP would be better choices than Hulk but whatever. Hopefully Hogan will do his best to try and write all the wrong he caused for Randy in the past. And tell the world just who was the only wrestler bigger and better than himself.

Honestly the ship sailed for me on this being as special as it should have been with the Macho Man sadly passed away. Even looking back on the Macho Man Mattel announcement in 2010 you can see that Savage still had all the charisma in the world and an induction for him with him actually being able to accept it and talk about his time in the wrestling business would have been as big a highlight as the Hitman and the Warrior returning or Flair, Michaels, Austin and Hogan going in.

Now it's just going to be Hogan pretending himself and Macho were best friends and putting himself over as much as possible.

I also found WWE's recent Macho Man DVD to be pretty disrespectful to the man so that has soured me somewhat on this announcement. It just seems like Vince trying to get it out of the way and it doesn't come across like a way of truly honouring one of the all time greats.
