Looking back at 2013: Everything I would change

NegativeFeedback

Mid-Card Championship Winner
I think WWE dropped the ball with a lot of things. One of which is Ryback who was really over and had no reason to turn heel. Another is Wade Barrett who could have easily been a top heel if they used him correctly. Another is Daniel Bryan who should have gotten an actual run with the belt while he was red hot. And there's also Dolph Ziggler. I have no idea what they were thinking with burying him like that. And other underused guys like Kidd, and Tensai. Man Tensai could be huge if they repackaged him without the silly Japanese stuff.

This is how I would fix 2013:

1. Royal Rumble- I would have built up Wade BIG as IC Champ, and have him rebuild the Nexus. Antonio Cesaro would turn face and feud with him, leading to a big Champ vs. Champ match on the show with Wade winning. He would then go on to the Final 4 of the Rumble later that night.

2. Elimination Chamber- I would have Kane win the Chamber by pinning Bryan last, but having Bryan join the title match at Mania anyway. I'd also have Ziggler and Jericho continue their feud from the Rumble in the Chamber and lead to a big Mania match. I'd have Punk and Heyman target the McMahons right after losing to The Rock for making him have to fight a movie star. When Punk targets Vince, Triple H comes out for the save, but Lesnar beats him down. Then Ryback makes the save! Setting up Ryback/Lesnar and Punk/Triple H, if Punk wins, Heyman becomes COO.

3. WrestleMania- Bryan steals the pin from Kane and wins the title. Kane chokeslams him and Ziggler cashes in, beating him in 18 seconds. Ziggler/Jericho becomes a title match. Shield faces Orton, Big Show and Miz. Sheamus faces Henry. Ryback beats Lesnar for a huge rub. Triple H beats Punk when Heyman turns on Punk and joins Triple H. Swagger and Zeb target the filthy immigrant holding the US title. Swagger beats Cesaro. Taker/Wade for the IC title. Build up Wade hard with the Nexus and have him build on them burying him alive before. Make it a Title vs. Streak match and have Taker win making him a Triple Crown Champ.

4. Extreme Rules- The Authority forms and they make Heyman GM of Raw. Cena/Lesnar main events ER in a Steel Cage, with Cena winning. Triple H and Ryback are now at odds and Triple H books him against the Nexus 7-on-1. Nexus wins. Undertaker drops the IC title to Dean Ambrose on Smackdown before they take him out. Dean faces Kane at ER with Shield taking him down. Bryan/Ziggler w/ Big E for the title later, with Kane no-showing due to his beat-down. Del Rio and Ricardo win the tag titles off Hell No during the RTWM, but drop them to Seth and Roman on the show. And Orton beats Miz and Show in a 3-way. All of them are faces, but Orton is pissed they caused him to lost at Mania.

5. Payback- Del Rio gets his rematch against Ziggler and loses. Hell No get revenge in a tag match against Shield, but Kane officially turns on Bryan, taking him out. Cena/Ryback/Wade main events the show with Cena stealing the pin and pinning Wade. Punk comes back, and the Authority asks Orton to take him out. Orton says he's no puppet, keeps acting like a tough face SOB, but Heyman says that if Orton wins, he'll give him a title shot. Orton tells Punk it's on, but Punk actually beats him, pissing him off huge. Big Show and Miz lose a tag match on the show and Miz turns on him.

Authority loses faith in Nexus on the show and uses Shield to face them instead. Wade gets pissed and at the end of a Raw episode, you have all three Shield members surrounded by Nexus and Nexus beats them up, turning face.

6. Money in the Bank- Bryan faces Kane in an Inferno match. Huge build-up, the focus of Raw. Henry does his retirement speech and sets up the match with Cena. Ziggler beats Sheamus clean, and Sandow runs after to cash in, but Sheamus helps fend him off. Ziggler is turning full-face. Miz beats Show clean. Orton, Ryback and Punk are the main selling point of the MitB. Lesnar comes in and takes out Punk.

7. SummerSlam- Miz is chosen as the new FACE of the Authority. He goes on to face Ziggler for the title and beats him at SummerSlam. Orton's win sets up a feud with Ryback. Orton continues his slow-burning heel turn and loses at SS. Cena and Bryan in the main event goes on the same, except that Orton cashes in DURING the match when Bryan has Cena down for the 3. Triple H pedigrees Bryan, and Orton pins Cena instead winning the title. Wade/Dean for the IC title also happens, but Otunga turns on Wade joining the Authority. RVD/Christian/Swagger for the US title, with RVD winning. Wyatt Family in their debut beating. Big Show, Henry and Cesaro dominantly.

8. Night of Champions- Miz, RVD and Orton beat Ziggler, Swagger and Bryan in rematches. The ref screws Bryan in his. Bray beats Cesaro one-on-one, and Shield beats Henry and Show dominantly. Wade beats Otunga, and Cody beats Sandow for the briefcase. Punk wins the IC title from Ambrose. Debut Tensai in his Giant Bernard gimmick (change the name of course). Have him beat someone like Khali dominantly.

9. Battleground- The faces of the Authority all in the ring. Triple H tasks Dean with taking down Ryback. Orton has to face Punk for the WWE title. Miz faces Wade. And Triple H faces Daniel Bryan. If Bryan wins he gets his title shot. Orton and Miz defend the titles, but Ryback wins and Bryan gets a huge boost in the main event. Del Rio vs. Swagger finally happens, Del Rio wins. Giant Albert starts a big feud with Big Show.

10. Hell in a Cell- Per the BG stips, Bryan gets to choose the ref for the main event, but Triple H gives throws a curveball by making him choose from a shortlist. Shawn is in it, and Bryan picks him. Bryan says Triple H thinks he has Shawn in his pocket, but he knows Shawn and he will always do the right thing. No screwjob, Bryan finally wins the WWE title. Shield gets a rematch for the tag titles in a 6-man-tag. They tell Cody and Goldust to find a third man. Cue John Cena's return! Cena helps his buddies retain. After Punk defends the IC against Swagger, they force him to keep defending it in a gauntlet against various guys until Kane comes in and wins the IC title. Miz beats Del Rio, Albert beats Show, Ryback beats Brodus Clay in a big win.

11. Survivor Series- Shawn likes Bryan too much, but wants him to be on good terms with Triple H so he asks him to join the Authority and denounce Punk and the rest of the ingrates. Bryan says no. Heyman sets up Punk vs. Bryan for the WWE title, but the loser leaves WWE. Nash hits a big boot on Punk and Shawn counts the pin. Punk leaves the WWE. We pull the trigger and Ryback finally beats Miz for the WHC. Team Cena (Cena, Ziggler, Big E, Henry and Cesaro) vs. Team Orton (with Shield and Kane). Roman is the sole survivor. Cody and Goldust beat Harper and Rowan in a big tag title match. Albert beats Show in a LMS match.

12. TLC- Big E beats Nash for the IC title on Raw for a huge rub. The Authority tasks all their soldiers with taking out their enemies. Big E and Ryback defend their titles against Seth and Dean respectively in Chairs matches, but Roman beats Cena 1-on-1 in a huge match. Big TLC main event with Kane facing Bryan in the TLC but Bryan defends it. Henry, who is getting his bro on with Big E, faces the US Champ Drew McIntyre and wins it in a tables match. 2 ladder matches on the show: Wade/Orton for the #1 Contender to WWE title, and Albert/Dolph for #1 Contender to WHC. Wade and Albert win. The Rhodes Bros also win a 4-way Tables elimination match.

13. Royal Rumble- Next night after TLC, Triple H berates his members for failing him and decides he has to do things himself. Shawn apologizes to Bryan and superkicks him. He announces a WWE title match. Triple H beats Bryan and wins the WWE title. Authority feuds with the Nexus and Triple H beats Wade at Rumble with the stipulation that Nexus must disband. Ryback beats Albert in a huge match for the title. Triple H berates Kane every week in the build-up until Kane turns. He faces Brock at RR and loses. Ambrose and Rollins win the tag titles. Cody and Goldust then scuffle during the Rumble.
Punk steals a spot in the Rumble and tries winning the whole thing, but Roman stops him and wins it himself!

14. Elimination Chamber- Triple H praises Roman for stopping Punk. He tells him the WHC is basically his. Two chambers for both titles. Triple H stacks his chamber with the 3 Shield members to help him win, but Roman turns on everyone, tries winning the title for himself, but the numbers are against him and he fails. In the main event, Bray Wyatt wins the WHC pinning Cena last. Cena and Orton feud heading into the WHC Elimination Chamber, but both fail to win it. CM Punk beats Kevin Nash 1-on-1.

15. WrestleMania 30- Ryback/Wyatt for the WHC, but Wyatt defends. Roman/Triple H with Roman getting the huge win. Cena/Orton face off in a Last Man Standing with Cena winning. Batista returns with the Authority to face Punk, Undertaker faces Lesnar, Henry faces Big E, and Cody faces Goldust. Bryan faces HBK in an Unsanctioned match. Huge 30-man tag team battle royal in honor of WM30 for the tag titles. Seth and Dean lose them to Hogan and Warrior.

For me there really are only Two things that I would have changed about that whole of 2013.

1. ALBERTO DEL RIO.
This guy has had far two many chances to get over with the WWE universe and having recieved two World title Runs during the year just seemed completely pointless. For me the guy should have been dropped to the Mid card early in the year and used to help inprove the IC and US title Scene.

2. KANE
For me having Kane join the authority was a big mistake in my book. I know WWE wanted Kane to appear without the Mask until after the release of See No Evil 2 to help promote the Movie, But I still think it would have been a far better idea to have had Kane Join the Wyatt family upon his return instead of Putting on a suit and only being used in backstage segments. I really don't think the Authority storyline needed Kane and would have been just as simple having somebody less used on the roster like Alex Riley play his role instead. This would have allowed Kane to become the newest Member of the Wyatts and could have simply had him dress like his character in See No evil which would have fitted in perfectly with the Wyatt image and had him act as the enforcer of the group.

1) Don't ruin Dolph. I liked the double turn at Payback, but since then he was treated like garbage. Pull him out of the WHC title scene and let him feud with Ambrose for the US as a face

2) Get rid of all the false finishes in the Orton vs Bryan feud. If they wanted Orton as champion then that's okay, but at least have some clean finishes.

3) Get Dean Ambrose to defend that damn US title a bit more often - to Ziggler preferably. At least that keeps Ziggler current

4) Forget Curtis Axel never existed, no title run, no nothing. Keep Wade as IC title until he drops it to Big E.

5 (and most important) DON'T TURN RYBACK HEEL.

Love all of them.

1. I liked it too, but turning Del Rio back into his boring heel self wasn't the good call. He wasn't taking the world by storm as a face, but he didn't need to. An upper midcard face run would have been okay. Rey's been there almost his entire career and he's okay.

2. I think a screwjob finish works for Bryan, but I would have had only 1 at NoC, then consistent big wins for Bryan including a title run. Triple H accepts it for HBK's sake, but once Bryan turns down all of HBK's offers to get good with Triple H, HBK turns on Bryan too.

3. Definitely. In my scenario, I have Dean winning the IC and defending it on every PPV. But even if he kept the US title, he should have dropped it at some point to someone who needed it.

4. Curtis Axel did not deserve the push he got. In my alternate '13, he's Wade's lackey the whole year, as a heel and a face, but he does nothing major himself. I think he could be a good tag wrestler. Maybe put him in a 2nd-generation tag team, but I don't see him getting over on his own.

- cm punk beat rock at RR, but rock beats him at EC.

- I would have never turned del rio back to heel, unless if it had to be done he would be moved to midcard.

- no ryback heel turn

- no wyatt family(I see no use to them in this era... maybe in the 90's it would have worked)

- mark henry would have not torn his what ever and would team with big show instead of us seeing crying big show

- bryan beat orton at hell in a cell

- sandow beat cena and becoming world champion

- Tyson kidd win some type of gold

- all members of the shield looking super dominant instead of just roman.

- fire miz, khali, aksana, eva, jojo, Curtis axel

Honestly, Feedback, there's a lot I don't like in your rebooking of 2013. Ryback being pushed, Miz being recruited by the Authority and Barrett reforming Nexus are all terrible, terrible ideas.

What I would change about 2013 is:

Have Dolph Ziggler beat Alberto Del Rio with a roll-up at Payback. You want Ziggler to be a star? You have him return from his concussion, have Del Rio beat his skull in in the most heelish way possible, then Ziggler comes out of nowhere with a roll-up for the victory. Ziggler gets a big pop, Del Rio flips out, the double turn is cemented. As the audience watched Del Rio attack Ziggler's head, they got behind Ziggler. But when Del Rio won, it deflated whatever support they starting having for Ziggler. Despite what WWE think, Del Rio is a lost cause. But Ziggler still had potential to be an over World Champion, and he was getting good reactions in the couple of months after Wrestlemania. Let him get the underdog win.

Randy Orton's cash-in is unsuccessful, or he cashes in at a different time. That cash-in robbed Daniel Bryan and the audience of the best moment of the year. What was the best Pay Per View ending of 2011? CM Punk winning the WWE title, and leaving the building with it. You can't recreate that moment. Even if Bryan wins the WWE title at Wrestlemania, it won't quite be the same as the first time, had Orton not cashed-in. Have Bryan kick out of the pedigree then roll-up Orton. Have Orton cash-in the next night. I don't care. Don't ruin what would've been one of the all-time great moments.

Make Dean Ambrose a United States champion worth watching. Give him a feud. Let him cut more promos. Make him defend the damn title.
