Every now and then, I like to go back and watch some of the movies that have shaped me as a person and have had a huge fucking impact on what I find funny. One such movie that I have recently watched, is American Pie 2. The American Pie series is very successful and the three cinematic releases have grossed over $300 million at the Box Office. With another one on the way, $1 billion gross may be on the cards. However, in this thread, we look at perhaps the greatest movie in the series and that is American Pie 2.
Although many people tend to prefer the original movie, American Pie 2 goes above and beyond anything that the original gave us. For me, it was a hugely superior movie and that covers every facet of the film. It had a better story and a better performance from the cast. For me, everything was just right in American Pie 2 and that is why it will forever be the greatest movie in the series.
When you consider that American Pie 1 was so supremely funny and commercially successful, it was going to take a mammoth effort from the sequel to be anything near the original. However, as I think back on some of the great moments from the second movie, I cannot think of a better moment from the series. Sure, Jim humping the pie and dancing for Nadia was hilarious but does it come close to the lesbian scene in American Pie 2? Does it come close to Jim being admitted to hospital with a porn flick in his hand and his other glued to his cock? Probably not.
Still, the American Pie series is one of my favourites and, without going into too much detail of a review, I was always blown away by the second instalment. I suspect it is probably the movie that I have seen the most and whilst it may not be everyone's favourite movie of the series, I think it goes above and beyond anything else.
