I am quite excited by this as wes brisco is actually traines by dory funk jr. and I have seen his matches pre tna and they were quite good but as we know angle could carry anyone so I am not worried about this match.

Brisco has been a difficult one for me to assess wrestling wise, he hasn't done all that much in the ring. This match will be given a decent length and he'll be up against one of the greatest of all time! So by the end of it we should get a good idea of how good Brisco really is.

Angle's past three matches at Lockdown have all ranged from great to amazing. You had vs Anderson, vs Jarrett (the ultra male rules match, really underrated match IMO) and vs Hardy. Will this match follow the trend? I hope so but I'm not sure. If Brisco were to win it would be from HEAVY Aces interference. And I'm talking the entire gang here not just a Garrett run-in.

Sadly I think Angle may well take this.

I actually like this match, no problems here. Student vs. Teacher, with student turning heel. Kurt Angle is one of, if not the, greatest in-ring wrestler of all time. Brisco has a ton to prove. This is a good start for him, and match for Angle to show why he is the best.

Wes is still young and inexperienced.But TNA trusts Kurt to get in there and have a five-star match with him. Is Kurt's work cut out for him? Yeah but Wes has to carry his own weight in the match. He's dealing with one of the top guys in the company and he has to step up. And if he doesn't? That's going to set him back. This match is pretty much hit or miss. It's either decent or it's horrible so it'll be interesting to watch.

I agree. Loved the match at Lockdown 2011. I still think it was TNA's best match that year(but I saw it live, so there is potential for bias).

Dating back to the match with Anderson at 2010, Kurt Angle and Lockdown matches have become synonymous with epic encounters that include huge risk cage spots.

I have no doubts that since this match has been awarded a cage stipulation then they will follow the same kind of formula. I doubt Wes can keep up the now expected match quality, but I have no doubts that this match will include that one big "holy shit" spot.

I'm gonna guess Angle will get the win here, while A&8s will find some success somewhere deeper into the card.

Angle wins. Why would TNA want to do anything right with Ace's and Eight's? It is a shame and all, but hey, least Angle will get the win.

Gotta go with Angle in this one. Just can't see them giving Wes the win here. I do think it's possible though if Aces & Eights run out. Here's hoping for a big moment from Angle before he gets the win though.

I expected them both to be in the Lethal Lockdown match, this is a huge step up for Wes Briscoe given how green he is, I wonder whether this might end up being booked as a beatdown by Anlge to get his payback.

 

[Lowdown]

Unless Angle gets a serious beat down just before the bell, this is looking like a squash to the nth power. I haven't seen enough from Briscoe to think he could be a good match for Kurt. But hell it's supposed to be some kind of coming out party for Wes, so we'll see I guess.

facing kurt at lockdown could be a very good thing for Wes. He has been stuck with Garrett Bischoff for so long now that everyone assumes that he can't wrestle, so this is the perfect opportunity for him to prove everybody wrong. As far as the match itself goes, I expect to see the other members of aces and eights getting involved at some point in the match, But I still see Angle getting the win.

If Brisco can hold his own here this could be very good for him. Angle will get a good match out of him either way, but he needs to pull his own weight to. I think Brisco will take him to the limit, but in the end Angle will get the win. Aces and Eights will get some wins on this card, but this match will be about the rookie of the group taking the veteran to his limit, but in defeat.

This match holds zero interest for me. We've seen so little of what Wes Brisco ultimately can or can't do that, frankly, there's no reason to give a shit about the guy.

The whole teacher vs. student thing doesn't appeal to me in this match. The primary reason for that is because, on paper, it looks like a massive mismatch. Brisco is a nobody whom TNA hasn't even attempted to make into a somebody while Kurt Angle is a wrestling god.

That being said, I expect Brisco to win this match. It would be the shocker of the decade if Brisco actually beat Angle without any help from his cohorts in Aces & Eights. I think the odds of that, however, are about the same as winning the Powerball jackpot, having freaky & dirty sex with Velvet Sky and getting struck by lightning all on the same day.

I think Brisco will win, but he'll get it with the help of several members of Aces & Eights. If he doesn't win, then a guy from Aces & Eights looks like a total scrub and Lord knows we've never seen anything like that from them.

What a huge spot for someone so absolutely brand new. Im sure angle will get a decent match out of him, since, its freaking Kurt Angle....but it could become obvious how wide the gulf between the two of them is the longer it goes...

I hope they add the stipulation that if Angle wins, and he will, Briscoe can never cut another promo....just kidding....probably.

Angle will get something out of him I'm sure and I expect Bischoff to get involved, but ultimately Angle will beat them like his prison bitches and Aces & Eights will get their win of the night in the Lethal Lockdown match.

If by some miracle of terrible booking Briscoe does beat Angle then the rematch should clearly be Medals vs hair as Brisoce's barnett is not helping him any.
