Leno possibly going back to old time slot

Also, Leno was ready to leave. However, he was thrown such a large sum of money to stay that he would have been stupid to walk. How are NBC's poor business decisions Leno's fault? Come on, KB.

I'm gonna be honest here, I like Jay Leno, and really haven't laughed at Conan in a long time. It bears mentioning that I was a huge Conan fan while I was in high school, and stayed up at least for the first half hour every night. I thought he was a comedic genius. What he's doing now is a far cry from the greatness he had in the early part of the last decade. They even had a Triumph bit the other night, and I didn't even crack a smile. Conan's had to tone down his act for a while now, and he's no longer funny.

I really haven't watched Leno's new show, but the man knows how to do the monologue and never felt awkward doing so. He's great at it. I love "Headlines". He also does some stuff every now and then that makes me laugh.

To be frank, NBC really screwed the pooch here. Leno didn't want to retire. Why should he have when he was still on fire? It seemed as if Leno was getting funnier after the announcement, whereas Conan got less funny. They had no reason to force Leno out. Not when he was still beating Letterman in the ratings. They should have let Conan walk. Now they have a very sticky situation here.

Have you seen some of the shit that people watch?

Ratings don't equal quality. Ratings equal ratings. That's all.

Although I'm really not a fan of Conan either.
But, we're not talking about quality, we're talking about doing your job well, and if people don't want to watch you, and your job is to get people to watch you...then you aren't doing your job well.

Sly is in showbiz, guys. Listen to him.

But in all seriousness, he's right. Regardless of who finds you funny, if you don't draw money or ratings, especially at 10 PM, then you're a short timer. Jay Leno doesn't have the ratings to be on at 10 PM. He's a late night guy and should either go to another network to do late night, or wait out Conan and see if he can get his old time slot back. Ratings are cut and dry. If you don't have the viewers, then networks don't want you. No matter how brilliant you might be.

I laughed my ass off watching him at 2 in the morning the other night.

I pray that it was only because I was in bed ready to go asleep and wasn't fully aware of what I was watching.
