Least Intimidating Fighter

Now i can't remember exactly where i saw this, but i want to hear your answers anyway. Now there are many bad ass fighters in MMA, but this is a spotlight on the least intimidating fighters, you know the fighters you look at and say yeah i could probably take him. Simple thread and just a little fun, state your reasons.

For me it is a toss up between Dustin Hazelett and Tamdan McCrory, this guys always look like they just walked out of Games Workshop. They just look like geeks im sorry to say, now in reality they would definetly kick my ass but they just do not look like mean intimidating fighters. LMAO.

Definitely Roy Nelson.

The guy's a fun loving fat guy. You'd expect him to play Santa Clause at the mall before stepping into a cage to fight someone.

I think his less-intimidating look has played a lot into his success though. People have highly underestimated him simply because of his weight, which cost them deeply once that bell ring. However, you can't blame them, since not only does he carry around the belly he does, but he's also a goofy motherfucker on top of that. He just personifies that "silly fat guy" to a T.

I gotta go with one of my favorites in Demian Maia. Sure, I might be a fan boy, but I still can even see that he is just not a scary guy. Topped of with the fact he has said he likes to end fights with chokes because he doesn't like to hurt the opponent, just adds to my case. His physique also adds to his not so intimating look. He is fit, be he sure as hell isn't jacked like Rousimar Palhares or nothing. Also most pics I have seen of him outside of his fights, he is smiling, nothing wrong that, hell, I walk around smiling myself, but its just not intimidating.

Lol, yea, just not a very scary guy.

Maia looks like a fighter though. Like he has a rough look to him. As for the least intimidating i'd have to say Kenny Florian. He just does not look like someone who would be a fighter, or that would be as good a fighter as him. He just does not have that scary attitude, or face that would make me have chills if I had to fight him. He looks more like a news reporter than anything.

I think Shane Carwin isnt very intimidating, oh no dont get me wrong i love the guy and i know he could kill me in the blink of an eye, its just when he talks hes not intimidating at all. Which is probably a good thing i love his whole respect thing

....Are we talking about the same Shane Carwin? The dude is a beast and could very clearly quick peoples asses. Also, not sure what you mean by the respect thing, he has been rather cunty in some interviews. He just isn't a talker for the most part.

I'm going to throw Stefan Struve out there. The dude is tall, but he isn't muscular or intimidating looking at all. He is baby faced and pale as all hell and looks like the dude that would be on the basketball team in high school but wouldn't actually talk to/hang out with any of the other players because he's too busy with anime club. Decent fighter though.

Really? Other than Carwin having a massive build, how bout when the guy makes a fist and it is bigger than any normal person's head. I guess Rampage would look like a teddy bear to you then huh? Well I guess Mathix must be like 6'7 350+ for Carwin not to be intimidating to him.


When I saw this thread the person I immediately thought of was the guy Armbar picked Stefan Struve. So since he used him I'll go with Jared Hamman. Much like Struve he isn't really muscular either, he looks more like a guy that would be working for the Geek Squad, if I have computer problems he seems like a guy I would be taking it to be fixed.

Lol, Shane Carwin looks pretty damn intimidating to me dude. Another guy that hasn't been mentioned is Stephan Bonner, I remember watching TUF finals and thinking "Forrest is gonna beat this chumps ass", boy was I mistaken.

Another guy I think of is Fedor, except for the fucked up califlower ears, if I saw that guy walking around I wouldn't expect him to be a professional fighter at all, he looks like a regular ass dude, with a bit of a gut.

Luke Cummo. He pees on his hands and meditates and looks like the kind of person who when he was a kid would always have his lunch money stolen and get wedgies. However, he is one of the toughest mother fuckers I have ever seen fight. He isn't the biggest winner but he has a a never say die attitude for all of his fights. He has never been finished and he has fought some good fighters. He also has a unibrow and has admitted to collecting comics, nothing wrong with either, but if you heard that and saw the dude on the street you wouldn't think anything of him. Looks can be deceiving though cause he can take a beating and kick some ass as well.

What about Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović? I was in Croatia on vacation once and I passed by him at an expo of sorts, he wasn't intimidating. Very friendly dude. Even if I hadn't met him I would think he wasn't intimidating, he looks like a businessman or something, not a fighter.

Also, Keith Jardine. He reads all the time, in public too, and wears glasses. Nothing wrong with that, but I won't necessarily be scared of him hitting me upside the head with "To Kill a Mockingbird".

I've met Carwin several times. I have my picture with him. I'm 6'7" You judge for yourself.

But, he's a pretty mellow dude. Intimidating by size, yes. By demeanor, not hardly.

I have to go with Luke Cuomo or Art Jimmerson.

I would say Rich Franklin. I am not even joking, he looks like a really nice bloke (which he is) and doesn't look like he could or even attemp to knock you out. He is just such a nice bloke and if anyone disagrees I hope he does knock you out. I actually really like Rich as a UFC fight because he is just so smart and isn't great in one thing is just good in every aspect.

I'd have to say Frankie Edgar, the dude honestly looks like a 10 year old kid with 5 o'clock shadow. He's the lightweight champ, a good fighter and he deserves some props even though im not a huge fan, but I can still rip on him for looking like he could be going to middle school with my little brother.
