Some like Rusev. Others think he's incredibly dull. Personally, I think the guy is underappreciated as a character. He seems to have a good grasp of wrestling psychology, when he speaks it seems to matter and he's an unconventional heel who usually doesn't fall back on cheating. But that's not the issue here.
Whereas Rusev divides people, most seem to think Lana makes the angle more-or-less work. She looks the part, sounds the part and her promos are really good. However, it occurs to me that every week she tends to say and do the same thing. She'll talk about how awesome Putin is, how sucky America is and how sucky Rusev's opponent is. I think she needs to find a new way to generate heat.
The Russia/Anti-America angle is fine and should be the focal point, but I want her to say something else. When Rusev joined the Authority, I was hoping that this would provide a platform for something new. I was expecting that there would be a lot of tension, especially between Rusev and Henry. I was expecting some banter with Stephanie and Lana. But Lana barely made a peep and no one seemed bothered by Rusev's presence, or vice versa.
Am I the only one who feels this way, or is what Lana continues to do enough for you? I'm just tired of the same old speech week after week.
