i have given TNA a chance..and the problem is they dont understand with todays world u must have more then just wrestling to make your brand established...while SOME of there wrestlers r good at wrestling they extremely lack mic skills and a position to further their character..russo is tryin to change this as uve seen a lil bit of change within ideas but if they never understand to progress on the mic and other things they will never become competition or anything diff
I think over the past year the wrestlers in TNA have gotten waaaaaaaay better on the microphone. Allow me to go through the list of wrestlers that are good on the mic:
Abyss: Has James Mitchell do all the talking for him and James Mitchell is phenominal on the mic. He's great because he always tells a story with what he's talking about and makes you see the story clearly using great detail. That's why he's so great.
AJ Styles: As a face he never really got to talk a lot, but now as a heel he's great on the mic. He's so good that he managed to turn himself from the most loved wrestler in TNA by the fans into one of the most hated wrestlers in TNA. He talks like a champion.
Alex Shelley: He's got awesome mic skills and always has fresh material to make you laugh in his segments with Nash. He's always entertaining and I think that's why people love him.
Austin Starr: He's only talked a few times since he's only been here in TNA for about two months now, but he seems so irrogant and cocky he's easily hated and with Nash training him on the mic he'll be even better. And he's already decent.
VKM: Before they turned to VKM I found them annoying, but lately their segments have really entertained me.
Team 3D: Brother Ray speaks with a lot of intensity and that's what makes him good. He always gets straight to the point with nothing in between and always has the crowd's attention.
The Naturals: They have Shane Douglas do the talking for them. Originally I wasn't sure what to think of Douglas as a manager but he's really good. It always keeps you watching when the Naturals are out there because they're demanding respect.
Chris Sabin: As a face he was no good, but as a heel he's perfect. He just seems naturally hateable and he seems so cocky and irrogant as a young kid with the way he talks.
Christian Cage: Do I really have to say anything. I mean the guy's probably the best heel on the mic ever.
Christopher Daniels: He's so good because he has a presence about him that keeps you wanting to watch him and on the mic he speaks with such intensity.
LAX: Konan always talks on the mic great and I think as a manager he's one of the best of all time. He has everyone hating them so much.
Jeff Jarrett: Like him or not, the guys a great heel with tremendous mic skills.
Kevin Nash: Simply hilarious. And so easily hated.
Kurt Angle: He talks in just the right tone on the mic and always keeps it interesting.
Raven: His demonic type of tone is what makes him so good.
Rhino: The way he always talks with such fire is what makes him great on the mic.
Robert Roode: He's so easily hated and he's so good in my opinion. He reminds me completely of Ric Flair.
Samoa Joe: On the mic Samoa Joe is good. He talks just the way his character acts. Sick to the core. He loves to just destroy his opponents and that's the way he acts on the mic.
Sting: Originally he always sounded cartoonish on the mic, but he's gotten a lot better lately. I'm not sure what happened, but that new look may have something to do with it.
People who can't talk good on the mic:
A1: Not really a wrestler any more.
Runt: Not really even a guy that needs to talk because he's basically about fighting.
AMW: Horrible on the mic.
Eric Young: I just find the whole character lame.
Jay Lethal: Too generic.
Sonjay Dutt: Acts horrible and should be a heel.
Lance Hoyt: Never talks any ways.
Truth: Hate the whole rapping thing, but he's not really a major player in TNA any more so no biggie.
Petey Williams: What Canadian with great wrestling ability ever has character (besides Chris Jericho). He reminds me of Bret Hart and Chris Benoit.
so in reality most of the wrestlers in TNA do have good mic skills and the storylines are much better lately. Like the whole Abyss having good in him and Sting having evil in him is great. Joe v. Angle rematch being for one last time is awesome. LAX v. AMW is really a solid tag team storyline. The Naturals trying to overthrow the dudleys is really entertaining. Styles having an attitude sway and feuding with Rhino is really awesome. I love that storyline. The storylines are getting much better. If they get two hours the storylines will be top notch storylines combined with great wrestling and then TNA will peak.
