Kurt Angle & AJ Styles are the *NEW* TNA World Tag Team Champions

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
Despite the relatively short reign of Daniels and Kazarian, I actually expect this feud to continue despite the title change here heading into the coming weeks with this whole Kaz/Daniels AJ/Dixie thing. I have no idea how that will pan out, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Daniels/Kaz take the titles back at an upcoming Pay-Per-View through less than noble means.

While neither team is a very traditional grouping, their pairings do actually make sense regarding the whole build to the story, and TNA's division has suffered tremendous hits over the last two years losing team-after-team, so this feud should go a long way into making people actually care about titles that the fans actually want to care about.

Thoughts on this whole thing?

One thought I have is that Daniel and Kaz work great together. They had some real great double team spots in the match. Another thing is, Angle and Styles are two highly decorated wrestlers who really didn't need the titles here. It was more of a feel good moment. I predicted them to win, I just don't see logic in it. Daniels and Kaz are the closet thing to a real tag team in TNA. They were perfect for the belts while other teams are built up. Plus, AJ seems the least bit bothered by the whole sleeping with the boss thing. Kaz and Daniels probibly should have won here, but I just need to sit back and see where this goes.

When kaz and Daniels first won the straps, I was a bit dumbfounded that they had never been used in that capacity before. They are great together. They double team so well, nearly equal to the Moror City Machine Guns.

However, there is something about AJ and Angle. This, also, is a team that should have been run with a long time ago.

I would be happy to watch these guys trade the title back and forth for a year, like Ted dibiase and Paul orndorf did the north American strap back in the day.

But I also think Angle and AJ would be the perfect team for a program with my dream tag team, Roode and Aries. (yeah, i know. Not gonna happen this year. A fella can dream, can he not?)

But either way, I loved the match. I would have liked to see them stretch out Kaz and Daniels' reign, but I am not upset with the way this ended up.

I have a feeling that this feud is going to continue, but I also think it'll be heavily overshadowed by the whole affair storyline. Angle's presence in this almost seems like he's just there for the sake of giving him something to do.

As for the title change, personally, I think Daniels & Kazarian should've kept the titles. It would've put more heat on them and even more of something to rub in AJ Styles' face if the idea is for this affair storyline to take center stage as part of this feud. Just putting the titles on Styles & Angle for what felt like to me as a feel good moment doesn't really benefit anybody involved. Kazarian & Daniels needed the win more, much more actually, and could've given them a real boost in terms of being credible champs.

I hope the team of Angle and AJ just hold on to them long enough to make Kaz and Daniels a legit team. All of a sudden, (the last two years), TNA's tag division has the look and feel of the WWE tag division for a long, long time. Where basically there are no legit tag teams. AJ and Angle shouldn't be teaming together long term. It is a fresh run for them, but Angle isn't a tag team guy and shouldn't be. Should he be in the main event scene right now, NO. But, he is the guy I would use to get guys over. I think he can do it and do it well.

Putting the title on them actually gives more fuel to Daniels and Kaz to say the only reason they won is because he is with Dixie.

I figured the reason they added Angle 2 the fued was so Kaz & Daniels can get a win over him, further establishing their strength as a team. I guess if they prolong the fued, they can still achieve that, but it wouldn't have the same effect to me. So obviously, I'm surprised by the win, but I'm intrigued by what it may lead. Kaz & Daniels won't let this win or the AJ/Dixie storyline down so easy

Truthfully, I don't know what to make of this. I like both AJ and Angle, but not so much as a team. It could work, but I don't see the pairing lasting long with this whole AJ and Dixie storyline. Chances are Kaz and Daniels do get the straps back with all this ongoing with AJ. But like IDR said, with all the tag teams having left or been splintered, they had to put some prominent names in the division.

I think Daniels and Kaz should have kept the titles. They can definitely benefit from them more, and with AJ and Angle I think the belts will be used more as props with nowhere for them really to go with the belts. I see the feud continuing with the titles being overshadowed by the affair storyline. Angle seems to be thrown into this whole thing, and I just hope the belts are still defended during the whole affair story. Daniels and Kaz work well together and I think they should have ran with the belts a bit longer.

I think the AJ/Dixie affair angle is one of the more compelling storylines on Impact but at the same time, I feel like it overshadows AJ and Angle being the tag team champs. I don't feel like the storyline and the tag titles are fitting organically, so to speak. And I'm not really seeing what Kurt Angle's role in all of this is going to be. It just seems like he was thrown in there just to be there.

As for AJ and Angle being the tag team champs... well I have to say that I didn't see it coming. I thought that all signs pointed to Daniels and Kaz retaining. I don't really see them holding the belts for very long. I think Daniels and Kaz would benefit more from being the champs and I can see them winning the titles back as soon as the next PPV if not earlier. I just wonder where this fits in with the affair storyline.
