Kingston's 1st loss?

Occasional Pre-Show
What'd you all think of this now? ON TOP of having Shelton Benjamin get the win. I for one, was thinking *oh here we go again... they're burying Benjamin like they always do* in weeks before this. But noww we got Shelton getting the win on the undefeated/hottest ECW superstar on the roster? Just another twist by WWE or what? lol

But im actually really glad. Shelton HOPEFULLY will finally get a good push, him and Kofi can put on some damn good shows now (now that we know Kofi wont win 100% of the time)

The WWE has thrown some good curve balls to us latley. Im just glad we didnt see that loss cause he was suspended or something lol. But Kofi's winning streak had to end. Now its time to put him in some good storylines. We can see what he can do. I think hes ready for a good storyline run now, not a title yet I would wait another 6 months or so he fued for the US title or ECW title.

Everyone loses sooner or later, its slightly huge to be the first person to defeat someone who is on an undefeated streak..

However, truly, how big was Kofi's streak to begin with? I mean, was it Umaga huge, or Kozlov big? No. Kofi was a face, and for a face to be undefeated its kinda odd to begin with. Shelton picking up the first victory over Kofi might help Shelton swing outta his current slump, but it doubtfully will become anything big for him.

Chances are, Shelton will get a United States Championship feud with Matt Hardy from all of this, while they'll refigure another direction for Kofi to go in. Or, what are the odds Benjamin actually wins the U.S. Championship, then Kofi wins it from him? Kinda stupid in the aspect of Hardy's push as Champion.. but in the thick of things, it'll circle itself all the way back to making people remember Kofi.

I think Kofi's loss makes sense. As WIll said, it's not like this was Goldberg part 2 or anything. He won over a bunch of jobbers and a few jobbers that we've heard of, and he beat Shelton twice. He definitely seems to be being pushed towards the top of ECW, so one loss isn't going to kill him. He'll get his push, maybe have one or two more matches with Shelton, and move on to maybe Morrisson or Miz. One loss will hardly end his career as WWE seems fairly high on him.

I'm actually quite disappointed that Kofi lost his first match so soon. Its not like it was hurting Benjamin as they were playing it off as "2 fluke wins in a row".

I would have kept Kofi undefeated for another 2 months. The only good I see from this loss is an overdue Benjamin push. In a few months Shelton needs to win the United States Championship and at Wrestlemania 25 have him win Money in the Bank so he can finally win a world title.

I hope this feud isn't over though as Ive personally enjoyed it and I have enjoyed the 3 matches these two athletes have had.

I don't think that they should have had his first loss to Shelton. I saw it coming this match, he just seemed so set up for it. I am disappointed in it though, he should have had this first loss to someone a little bit more credible.

That being said, Kofi and Shelton have had some great matches, by ECW standard anyway. This fued will probably not continue though, there may even be a heel turn for Kofi here. He might 'snap', from his happy go lucky after being defeated. Who knows.

Still this will probably just be the turning point for Kofi to either be a good starter turning into nothing, or for Kofi to move on up the ladder still. As for Shelton the US title is coming his way.

I don't see why Kofi losing is a big deal, its probably not even worth discussing. He only beat random jobbers before the Benjamin feud. Had the announcers not kept reminding me he was undefeated I wouldn't have even remembered because his run has been so unmemorable. His first 10 matches were so similar I was afraid he would go the way of Mark Henry (always wins but never against anyone credible). I think Kofi is a good talent, but its not like his streak was one of the most talked about stories in the company.

The reason he lost is because if he beat Shelton three weeks in a row it would effectively end the feud, end any hopes of raising Shelton, and be no different from anything Kofi has done since coming to WWE. He needs a storyline that takes him somewhere other than happy go lucky guy who beats low ranked superstars.

Kofi's loss makes perfect sense. Right now, he has a program with a talented guy (Shelton) who also is in need of a push, so a long-lasting feud between the two could do them good. That is, of course, if they keep upping the ante. Have them go at for a little while longer, but not just at randomized matches thrown together. Make a FEUD out of it. I was surprised to see when Kofi and Shelton fought backstage and Kofi pushed Shelton into the steel garage door because it felt like a feud as opposed to just the typical "third time's the charm" rule of the WWE as of late.

I say, run with this. Make it a feud about Shelton being an arrogant bully in a way and Kofi being the nice guy that is slowly getting fed up with him. Week by week, do something new, even if its small, and eventually you can build to Kofi being PISSED and actually not just smiling and jumping around. End the feud a little after that. The key is to give each of them wins over the other. Whatever happened to that? Nowadays it seems like a feud only exists if the face gets repetitive upsets or if a heel dominates 100% until the ppv. When Orton comes out next Monday and RKOs Triple H, is that really going to make any of us think he'll win it? Nope, it does the opposite, so switch things up with the feuds. One wins one week, the other wins the other week, etc.

Kofi/Shelton has potential to be a good midcard feud that pushes them both towards midcard gold as long as they don't rush it or start booking it too weird like "Kofi + Colin vs Shelton + Estrada", which we'll probably get in the next week or so haha.
