Kofi's loss makes perfect sense. Right now, he has a program with a talented guy (Shelton) who also is in need of a push, so a long-lasting feud between the two could do them good. That is, of course, if they keep upping the ante. Have them go at for a little while longer, but not just at randomized matches thrown together. Make a FEUD out of it. I was surprised to see when Kofi and Shelton fought backstage and Kofi pushed Shelton into the steel garage door because it felt like a feud as opposed to just the typical "third time's the charm" rule of the WWE as of late.
I say, run with this. Make it a feud about Shelton being an arrogant bully in a way and Kofi being the nice guy that is slowly getting fed up with him. Week by week, do something new, even if its small, and eventually you can build to Kofi being PISSED and actually not just smiling and jumping around. End the feud a little after that. The key is to give each of them wins over the other. Whatever happened to that? Nowadays it seems like a feud only exists if the face gets repetitive upsets or if a heel dominates 100% until the ppv. When Orton comes out next Monday and RKOs Triple H, is that really going to make any of us think he'll win it? Nope, it does the opposite, so switch things up with the feuds. One wins one week, the other wins the other week, etc.
Kofi/Shelton has potential to be a good midcard feud that pushes them both towards midcard gold as long as they don't rush it or start booking it too weird like "Kofi + Colin vs Shelton + Estrada", which we'll probably get in the next week or so haha.
