Kingdom Come Discussion: Tyrone Blades vs. Garth Black [Number One Contendership]

A number one contenders match for the world title, fought by two of the most disgruntled WZCW employees? Surely this will be money. Both men have had their ups and downs, with more ups than down. Both linked heavily to Phoenix. One is definitely in the Hollow Ones, the other is likely in the Hollow Ones. How will this fare for the future of WZCW?

Ty's back, and he's got a completely new persona for a very long-standing character. It is very difficult to take someone you've been writing for so long, accomplished everything Ty has done, and make something refreshing. But, considering Ty is one of, if not, the best RPers in WZCW history, this was a cake walk, and he's shown how great he can be by not really caring.

Speaking of, that's really the calling card of Garth Black, a man who has taken WZCW by storm in his 637th attempt at becoming great, and after all the trials and tribulations, he has done it. Sometimes, I can't tell if the booking is real, and his RP's are real digs at WZCW, because it just feels too perfect. He's been a joy to read, and to watch his character develop. Definitely given me a couple of ideas for my writing style.

But pairing these two in a match for the number one contendership? That's like throwing fire at fire. Actually, more like throwing air at air. Instead of seeing these two saying they'll be hurting each other, and they want this opportunity, it'll be both men saying how they don't want it, and how they really sympathise with the other. Definitely be interesting to see what two veteran RPers will pull out, and honestly, both deserve the title shot.

A big match that will determine the future of not just these two men but those in the main event of Kingdom Come. So many wonderful options and I cannot wait to see how it all plays out. Both are deserving and serious consideration was given to adding Black to the main event. He was white hot for a long time and while he has cooled off slightly I feel like this is the stage to bring out the best of the character.

Ty is the greatest. Simple as that and it’ll hard for Black to overcome but we have seen him defy the odds before. Depending on how Ty approaches this it could be interesting. How much of the Hollow Ones angle does he push or will he focus more on Tyrone himself? I’m interested to see which path he takes and how he handles everything surrounding him.

I’m looking forward to what comes next for the winner.

• Stormrage vs. Black III on pay-per-view for what would be the end of their long feud and a final nail in the coffin. I’d love to see it one last time, a gimmick match perhaps, and a final chance for these two to prove who the best is.
• Stormrage vs. Blades in a rematch from Kingdom Come a few years ago. I believe Ty won back then and challenged for the belt against Tastic. It would be interesting to see how this story and match goes now that Stormrage has matured and become the champion and Ty remains a challenger for the gold in the same position he was two years earlier (I think).
• Cooper vs. Black in the “I did what you did before you did it” match with these two loudmouth rebels fighting for the biggest prize the company has to offer. It would be very fun.
• Cooper vs. Blades in a match with the final two men from Lethal Lottery. The last two times they faced each other on pay-per-view Cooper has be named the winner. We’ve got all the stuff from after Gold Rush where Cooper and Keaton upset the Phantoms of Chaos in one of the biggest upsets ever and Ty turned into Tyrone Blades. Then he comes back and is about to win Lethal Lottery, becoming the first to ever do so twice and be the first man to ever main event Kingdom Come three times, only for Cooper to beat him again. The story backstory for this match is so good.

No matter what happens in the two matches with World Championship implications we are spoiled with great stories and cannot go wrong.

This could be one to keep an eye on. Both guys would be deserving to become the #1 contender whether Mikey or Cooper wins in the main event. Prophet's right, we have a number of interesting options to go in after this round. Without having the RP's up yet it is difficult to ever predict against a Ty win. He's added yet another awesome layer to his character by turning him into Tyrone Blades. We can't count Garth out though. His rants in his RP's were fun to read over the course of the last season. It has the potential to go either way, but it will take something massive from Garth if Ty RP's at his best.
