King of the Ring or Money in the Bank?

Byrnside has it totally right, i mean why can't we do both? I love both concepts, though i give a slight edge to KOTR because i (perhaps in the minority) love one night tournaments. I love the moment when a MITB winner cashes in its so huge, and i love how it turned CM Punk heel, a guy so good at what he's doing even the smarks hate him. I also love how KOTR cemented so many stars as "the future." Shall we run down the list? Bret Hart, Austin, Triple H, Edge, Angle, Lesnar. Sure there have been mistakes in both concepts, but that is going to happen, and either way, even the mistakes produced enjoyable matches.

MITB is simply the better match to watch, 6-8 guyz (im not sure), ladders, and a Guaranteed tittle match. That is awesome. You can have a mid carder (CM PUNK back in the day) go onto all shows, bring fear into all champions, and cash it in at the more opurtune time. U never know what can happen.. Itz a great way to push someone into the main event scene, however, most of the time they cash it in is when their opponent is at there weekest.

This pushes them into the main event scene, but doesn't give the them nod on winning in cleanly. They are considered basically a fluke champ.

It has both ups and downs.

In addition, KOTR is nothing liek it used to be...like common, King Booker, William Regal? Where are they now. One of them is in TNA and the other just got into the main event scene in ECW.

If it's an either/or choice, then I pick the King of The Ring every single time. MITBis a chaotic, 15-minute spotfest that really doesn't offer any credibility to the winner until they cash in and basically nothing else ever comes from it.

Now as for the KotR, I love formatted PPV's. Rumble? Great. No Way Out with the 2 chambers? Great. Night of Champions? Great. Survivor Series, should be great. If the KotR doesn't work it's because the WWE has fucked it up, same with the Survivor Series. What's not to like about an 8 man tournament featuring new talent? If that's not enough, the winner gets catapulted immediatly into the main event at Summerslam. Come the fuck on! One the the major bitches on this forum is how no-one new ever gets pushed into the main event anymore. Let me put it this way, at Summerslam it was Orton Vs Cena (again), instead it could have been Orton Vs Morrison or any number of others where people would actually care about the result. In addition to that, you get to see matches that you otherwise wouldn't see.

MitB or KotR? Easiest question I've been asked in weeks.

King of The Ring was better, for several different reasons. It didn't guarantee the winner anything, but essentially was a jumping off point for the next main eventers.

Don't get me wrong, I love MITB as well, in fact the ladder match is my favorite stipulation match. But I prefer one on one ladder matches, much more.

But the KOTR was a great story starter and helped to solidify many great stars, not just the winners, but some of the losers as well. Bam Bam, Razor, Savio Vega, etc etc.

I think the KOTR was one of the best events next to the Royal Rumble. It was a way for wrestlers to showcase different styles against different types of wrestlers.

I think it wasn't done properly and effectively every year and suffered greatly for it.

95 was lame, 96 started the 2 match KOTR which I hated. It should've stayed at 3 per ppv night. They came back to that when Mr. Ass won, which should've never happened. They should've had Shamrock win again. They did it when Angle won it all, which was great. But then they abandoned it for again for the 2 match KOTR's. Then they dropped the ppv altogether. Which was ridiculous, because KOTR has most of my favorite overall ppvs.

KOTR 93, 94, 96, 98, 00, 01, 02.

95, 97 & 99 all sucked big time, but all the others were great. I liked who won in 97 (trips), but all the matches were terrible. I mean c'mon.....Faarooq vs. The undertaker? please, what a joke.

And now they are just picking undeserving wrestlers to win the last 2, Booker T & William Regal? Are you kidding? Regal was past his prime and Booker T never had and will never have a prime, he's always been garbage - in-the ring and on the mic.

They need a guy like Dolph Ziggler or John Morrison to win KOTR. They are the types of guys that KOTR was meant for.
