Are they going to split? I hope they dont. Booker's career was seriously on the slide before she became his manager. I know pople are going to say she's annoying. But she's a heel so surley that's the point. Hopefully this just lead's to Booker loosing The Kning gimmick and goes back to being a hard ass.

I don't want to see a full on break up, and by her reaction after he got owned by Taker this week I dont think it's going to happen.

I would much prefer booker T than King Booker though. Right from the start I have disliked the King gimmick.

I hope he dont as Sharmell seems to light the fire under Booker on TV so he pushes for things. And ya Jake right yet again lol Booker's career was going no where till he got Sharmell as his manager.

Yet, after what happen to Booker at the end of Smackdown i dont see these two breaking up

JUST WISH HE LOSE THE DAMN KING GIMMICK

i really DONT care if they break up, but it would be nice to see the old booker t then king booker. i hate the fact that he even won king of the ring and i hate the fact that they made him stick to king booker for this long.

Ditch the wife, ditch the gimmick. Go back to what brought his ass to the dance in 1998. Wrestling and being a badass. At Wrestlemania I saw shades of the Booker T I came to know as a teenager scouting WCW programming when he was in the ring. THAT is the Booker T I want to see as a title holder. I'd also like him to stop pandering to either the strict babyface or heel lines of character placement. Let him be himself and fight anyone as the original Harlem badass. His "King Bookah" gimmick was a complete waste of a year of his time. If they actually wrote him into some serious storylines (with quality) and allowed him to wrestle his style without having to always look like a second-fiddle WCW leftover (like in his programs with HHH and The Rock), but would instead garner the same respect he did in the last few years of his WCW career. The damage they did to him upon bringing him into the WWF has never been repaired. They looked to damage the credibility of the WCW title by having him booked to be weak, but in the end they also damaged one of their best potential stars by having other guys go over him.

if u ask me dudes id say they wont split p but Booker will return as Booker T

Kasey, he has always shown shades of his old self. My feeling about the King gimmick all along is that in reality it is Booker T (the character) pretending to be a King. Okay, maybe that is looking into a wrestling gimmick too deep, but I have been given that feeling several times. I admit to not viewing much SD! tv but from the little I have seen since he became King Booker, and his appearances on RAW, King Booker tends to slip back into Booker T when he gets pissed. I love it, and I think it makes the character funny. I for one don't think it is at all necessary to abandon this gimmick, and do not think it is as bad as most fans see it. If he returns to old Booker T fine, thats cool, but there's nothing wrong with King Booker.

Perhaps if they break up it will give him a new chance to make this gimmick more appealing to all the fans who hate it. You never know, maybe they have a brilliant idea. But I don't want them to remove her from the show altogether because then he may consider retiring sooner rather than later to be with his wife. I think the longer she is around, the longer he will stickc around.

I do agree that they really dropped the ball when he first came to WWE, he had the potential to be a megastar for WWE like he was in WCW. But hey, thats what we all knew Vince would do to every single one of those guys.

King Booker gimmick was brilliant, but be realistic. King of the Ring is coming back and Booker is injured so he was written off the show for a while and you can't have two kings so a new King of the Ring is on the way and there is no more room to hail King Booker.

I don't know if Sharmell will be back but I imagine Booker will be back in some type of new package, closer to his Harlem street thug character, possibly with The Undertaker in his sights (screw him out of the title, perhaps...Mr. Kennedy? SummerSlam?)

Good point DHS, I didn't think about the King of the Ring coming up. Then I will have to agree with everyone that Booker T may be coming back

He is scheduled to be out of action until July. When he returns, he will come back as Booker T again with Sharmell with him. He will still be a heel as Smackdown needs all the heels it can get.

Why make it cartoony, though? WWE has taken one of the top North American heavyweights of the last ten years and has effectively found a way to underbook him every year since they got a hold of him. Hell, his first World Title shot was against HHH in the middle of Wrestlemania...and no one cared because the program was built up like complete $hit and stashed on an already bloated card instead of built for the next PPV and set up right. His gimmick now is just stupid. There is no real identifiable depth to it and the whole of 2006 was a complete wash for him...regardless of his title reign. I and everyone else who has watched him knows that he was a legit troublemaker growing up and that he's not the sharpest knife on the stone (Weakest Link, anyone?). He can wrestle, though, and I for one can't stand watching him try to stumble through an English accent. It's like with Steve Austin. They spent years in WCW and in the WWF trying to fashion him into a Flair/Rude ripoff that really didn't do much character-wise until they let him take the reigns. Booker has already been over by his own accord, but just like RVD they keep trying to "fix" what isn't broken. The best champions, whether they be heel or face, are the ones who can really bring prestige and clout to a main event. Booker hasn't been able to do that since Vince McMahon bought WCW...and it's not necessarily Booker's fault. That's why I don't stand behind his character. If he continues this way? I'd rather he just retire. I don't need to watch anymore half-assings from a guy who I know is damn talented. Besides, I have plenty of his worthy matches from WCW on tape.

i dont dislike the king gimmick, but i hated the booker t gimmick because he was a joke. he was doin spineroonies and tag teaming with bloody goldust. hes a good heel, and he should either go back to the tough Harlem guy or remain King Booker with Queen Sharmell. But with King of the Ring coming up, he will either drop his king gimmick or feud with the King of the Ring and sy he is the "REAL KING".

I wish the WWE would get rid of the King Booker gimmick. The gimmick is quite stale and boring. It would be refreshing if he returned to SmackDown with the Booker T gimmick and fued with Mr. Kennedy or Chris Benoit. There have been many signs in the past week saying that he may comes back as Booker T. The mean streak, the Spin-a-roonie at WrestleMania 23, being written off of SmackDown, etc. etc...

yo booker t had good feuds king booker feuds suck
remember booker vs austin (supermarket, church)
vs rock
vs boogieman (him and shamel was funny)
vs hhh
vs angle ( i wish they played that out longer)

i liked booker when he wasnt king some of the fueds were fantastic not like now where hes got a crap gimmick just like kevin thorn and some of the new breed members bring back the 5 time wcw champion gimmick

The King gimmick was amazing! The first time I heard about it (didn't really watch Smackdown! back then), I didn't think it would last more than like a month or two. But he made it work!

It wasn't even cartooney! He pulled it off as legitimately thinking he was a king. the Same as any crazed wrestler who's seriously pulled off something he's not in the past (and I'm not talking about Saturn getting hit in the head or something - rep for Saturn reference, lol). He actually came to the ring decked out in the king outfit, wearing a suit, the crown, septor... he had his own knights/court, everything!

Those cross brand feuds with Cena and Big Show were so well done. Booker coming to raw and making Cena kiss his feet was perfect heat heading into a pay-per-view.

It would've been silly if Booker did it on and off and inconsistently for a while. But he literally kept it going non-stop for a year. And him turning into normal Gangsta booker when he was angry was perfect too. Conceptually and practically, the gimmick was perfect. And if you're a fan of wrestling from the 80s and 90s.. you should like this. Because it translates into a gimmick you would see in the 80s or something fitted to current times. Like an edgy urban take on a cheese gimmick that would've worked during the Rock N' Wrestlin' era or something.

The only gripe I have... and I'll be the first to admit it... is that it didn't work as well when he didn't have the title.

And that they actually (believe it or not) didn't go far enough with some aspects of the gimmick. They could've ran so much further with it if the writers were more poised to detail and storytelling.

yea i always LOVED the king bookah gimmick too...prax is right on the money by saying that this was such a throw back gimmick, and that it was dumb and crazy as hell and made it so hilarious...everyone says "well i hated hearing him try to do an english accent it sounded so terrible"...um dudes, THAT WAS THE POINT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO SOUND TERRIBLE, and i for one thought it was hilarious..when he used to say "smacketh down" hahahah...it was supposed to be a ridiculous over the top character, and people act like they have never friggin watched wrestleing before, not realizing that lol...and yea it WAS great whenever he would get pissed and morph bnack into ghetto booker, that stuff was sooo funny haha...i was at survivor series last year, and we got our whole section yelling "ALL HAIL KING BOOKAH!!!" and everyone was bowing and stuff it was great ha

The Following is from WZ news:

In a recent interview to promote a show in Akron, Ohio, King Booker said that if he would have been drafted to ECW he would have quit the company. He said that being drafted to RAW was a great thing. Booker also said that he will never wrestle under Booker T again as he feels the King Booker name has really taken off and helped him get to the top.

Well, I guess this almost, if not totally, kills any chance for a Booker-T gimmick return. I'm not against King Bookah character, actually, I think is great and utterly funny ("Listen Jerome...." "..All my subjects are going to kiss my royal feet...") but frankly, he need another kind of storylines, i always get bored of royal crownings and other royal shit.

I dont know, Booker doesn't seems so worried about what WWE thinks of him, obviously, he has a great biz in his school and specially, his own promotion. So, if they (wwe) ask him to return to the old gimmick, I dont know what's going to happen...

There's a poll, so you can vote on your favorite character.

So. do you prefer Booker T or King Booker?

I prefer Booker T. Especially Booker T from WCW. After he became a legit star in WCW is when his personality really took off. I'll even sit here and say that I liked the whole G.I. Bro thing vs. Team Canada, he was funny. He was his most intense(my opinion) in WCW and was more charismatic than he is now. I don't mind the King Bookah thing, but it does get old. Plus, I think he makes a better face than a heel.
