Kinda freaking me out

The house I live in has a tiny apartment attached to it, nobody has lived there for months and nobody has gone in for months as well...I was outside doing a little gardening until that edger wasn't working and it got dark so I came in and I went to unplug the edger that is plugged into a socket outside that aparment when I noticed a light was on in there........I have no idea how that light got turned on or who turned it on but the door is locked and nobody has gone in there recently. Kinda freaked me out.

The landlord is my grandfather, he wouldn't just move somebody in without mentioning it first. Of course he hasn't been here in a couple of months and he hasn't called.
