Killam, You're Getting A Break

I'm not saying that parallels can't be drawn. They can and for those that make them, go for it. Like I said, I'm not fighting. I know that me saying that Daniel Bryan is himself and no one else may seem unnecessary to some of you, but for others it needs to be reinforced early and often.

Anytime you dub somebody "the next _____" or "this era's _____," it builds an unrealistic expectation. Some dim bulbs are setting themselves up for colossal disappointment. This storyline just started. Sure, there are similarities and like I said, if you want to point them out, go for it. Just don't get ahead of yourself. Some are rushing to dub this "Austin/McMahon 2013," and when the angle doesn't live up to that billing, they'll be the first ones waxing and waning.

I totally agree with everything posted here.

I am just being an old fuddy duddy and reminiscing back to a time when I thought I had anything intelligent to say about wrestling.

The only real similarities between Bryan and Austin are merely storyline. Outside of that there isn't much similarity which is good. Daniel Bryan is about as original of a character as you can get after close to 100 years of worked wrestling.

I understand where he's coming from, it's very similar obviously aside from the fact that Bryan isn't a badass driving trucks. The CM Punk reference is a proof that wrestling fans are sheep, they have little in common. CM Punk was legitimately pissed at the WWE way of doing things, Austin was all a work and he didn't showed hate for the WWE, only for Vince McMahon's character.

Just because the angle is similar doesn't mean everyone who ever feuded with the McMahons is fucking Stone Cold.

Also, re: the bolded: Do you think Punk's promo was a complete shoot?
