Four new writers have been hired to WWE. Andrew Goldstein, John Carle, Dave Kapoor, and Pantelis Ypsilantis. Carle, a former writer's assitant, seems to have the least wrestling knowledge of the four and is described as knowing nothing about wrestling.

NOTHING? NOTHING!

Wow, this is going to be one fucking horrible year for the WWE, if it hasn't already been one of the worst years in wrestling history.

I mean hiring a guy who has NEVER been involved in wrestling? Where in the blue hell is the sense in that!

an emo saying kill me???? What are the chances....lol anyway yea all the stories repeat themselves, and are just versions of different stories WWE went done the drain when they hired the guy with the kane movie IMO

I guess if they can have the DS- than they can hire people who don't know anything about wrestling. Raw, SD, and ECW will now only be soap operas.

Flames Out
Dragon

la la la la la la *ooo I can see Triple H skipping down the stag* jesus

now thats f'd up , they made Layla win not the fans , i mean ... vince wanted Layle , and get ready to see the worst of WWE

ECW obviously has the best writers now and for leyla...none of the divas head muscle, and idc shes not gonna last

shit man they should hire some cats from this site, in book this hahah, lalkers er whatever and like the guppee hahah thatd be sick

Were you not around when the news came out that they had recently hired an ex-nickolodean(sp) writer to be on the staff?

These guys and girls write storylines, not matches, there is really no absolute reason they should have extensive research and history knowlage of the sport.

^^True, but wouldn't it be logical to hire someonewith Wrestling Knowlege (sp)? Well I'm not just saying in the matches catergory but about the wrestlers and there gimmicks, about the current WWE stroylines and at least some knowlege on the Wrestlers move sets so if they are going to write a storyline they'll have know how aggressive the wrestler wrestles, ie.. Umaga.

Since when do gimmicks and storylines have to actually do with Wrestling? Look at the DX storyline right now; someone could've briefed them with "They go out and say "We have 2 words for you, Suck it" and then cross their arms over their crotches" and it could've been written; everything else in that storyline delt nothing with wrestling.

You then have backstage storylines like Carlito and Trish, etc etc. When it comes to Umaga, the level of his agressiveness isn't something they would have to know, it's something they randomly thought up. I can't see it being that hard.

It's a plus if they have a history of at least watching the product, but it can still work if they don't.

---------

What I don't think you're understanding is that the WWE writers do not write what actually happens IN THE RING, all they work is how the match is ended (Pinfall, submission, and the details surrounding it). The agressiveness and moves themselves are worked by the wrestlers alone.

I see.... And Also agree..

I see where your coming from. I'm just saying it would be atleast, buisness smart to hire a writer who at least knows a bit about wrestling or goes through some type of training course.

Money issues my friend, it's a lot cheaper to randomly grab writers then it is to pick and choose. Though, don't take my arguing in their favor as me believing they're in the right; any group of people that lets the Dudley's be released from their contracts because they have nothing for them are fucking idiots.

Agreeded... One of WWE biggest mistakes and what runied Raws Tag Team Divsion if you ask me is that the Dudleys were traded over and then fired! If you ask me if the dudleys were back and still in the WWE - Multiple Tag Titles, ECW, MNM fued, possible Bigshow and Kane/Batista and Rey fueds, so much more! It was a waste and WWE know it.

The money issue, Vince McMahon is a "Rich Prix" and could do anything he wanted, and still make the money back in a month.Maybe when Trips takes over we'll see some improvement in WWE, and that... is a couple of years away.

Zero, pretty much summed it up for everyone. WWE is more concerned if your qualified for the job or not. Their real high on people with degrees and a few years experience in the field which the person applied for. They'd consider you more for the job, if you have working knowledge of WWE TV shows, talent, and story lines, but it isn't one of their main requirements.

Him being rich doesn't mean that he wants to just spend the highest possible amount to get things done. The guy spends millions each year on wrestler salaries, travel, catering, advertising, renting arenas, transporting equipment, paying hundreds of workers, pyro, etc. While dishing out more for writers with knowledge of the character's backgrounds or wrestling in general makes more sense, I don't think that him being rich is a good enough argumnt as to why he should absolutely hire high priced people.

It should be though shouldnt it? surely?

If some movie directors can take on a movie script without knowedge of the subjects and still be able to put forth enough effort to make the movie good enough to earn millions and millions of dollars, then a writer without is still capable of putting forth certain elements on a wrestling program to make their portion of the job successful.
