In the last couple of weeks, Kelly Kelly has pinned not only Michelle McCool of Lay-Cool, a former champion, but Layla as well, the current champion.

Creative has been weary of giving title reigns to younger divas and has just switched the Divas and Womens Title from one established Diva to another. This has changed since Milena, age 31 (4 title reigns) and Beth Phoenix, age 29 (3 title reigns) went down to injury and Mickie James, age 30 (6 title reigns) was released.

Being the only heel diva on the Smackdown roster with experience being champion, Michelle McCool, age 30 (3 time champion) had no competition after James was released. This in turn led to a Beth Phoenix full blown face turn as Beth became the top face on Smackdown. Soon after her latest title reign began, Beth suffered an injury and she dropped the title to Layla, age 32, for her first title reign with the company.

It looks like creative is looking to boost the Diva roster by giving different divas who have never been seen as contenders, their first title and more exposure. This can be seen when Maryse won her first championship on Smackdown just 10 months after her debut and Eve winning her first championship from Maryse on Raw. Surprisingly, at only 24 years old, Alicia Fox, who did not receive a push at all before "Fatal Four Way", won the Divas Championship for the first time in her career at the PPV.

For the past couple of months, Kelly Kelly has been feuding with Lay-Cool. Along with Tiffany, Kelly Kelly has looked capable in the ring against Layla and McCool. She has shown athleticism, charisma and improvement in her in-ring skill. She finally has a finisher, by taking Billy Gunn's Fame-asser and calling it the "K-2". Kelly Kelly is no longer the young girl on ECW dancing and stripping at the beginning of shows or a valet to low card talent. It looks like she has put in a lot of work over the years and is now receiving a push on Smackdown after her switch from Raw.

QUESTION: At only 23 and the youngest diva on either Raw or Smackdown, will Kelly Kelly be given her first title reign? Do you think she deserves it (She's been with the company since 2006)? Do you think she's ready to be the top female face on Smackdown?

Kelly Kelly is one of the most over females in the company. She wasn't getting Beth Phoenix cheers, but she gets a great pop whenever her music hits. She's also incredibly attractive. She's used in all sorts of WWE promotions (for example, the 7-11 drinking cups) and is one of their most recognizable divas.

She may not be anything special in the ring, but she works, and she's improving. I think it's time for her to get her first reign.

All I saw was Kelly Kelly run and I was kinda interested for a second... But on to the topic. Yes she does deserve a title run, she's loved by the crowd and isn't a bad wrestler. They need some new blood winning things in the division anyway. Plus Kelly Kelly has been winning for the last few weeks so she seems to be building up a head of steam. Hopefully they put the belt on her and see what she can do.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it happening, we've seen Alicia Fox getting the divas championship, something that I'm pretty certain very few people expected, but it happened, so I wouldn't discredit the possibility that Kelly Kelly got a Women's championship reign.

Besides she has been "feuding" with LayCool alongside Tiffany, so I guess she would be the next in line to challenge for the championship.

I don't see why not, she's very over with the crowd, she does win matches, and while she's regarded as awful in the ring, I don't see why it would stop WWE from giving a popular diva a championship reign.

Do you think she's ready to be the top female face on Smackdown?

Isn't she already the top female face on there? how many faces are there? Tiffany and Kelly Kelly? yeah.

But top female is a whole other story, I think that she wouldn't be ready to be top female, because that spotlight belongs to Michelle and Layla, they're the ones that are making the Smackdown Divas division, as well as the Divas division overall interesting, as opposed to what Kelly Kelly probably would do of "wonders" to it.

I think she deserves it,Bar none. She has been the company since 2006 represents them well and is very loyal and might be the only competition for McTaker and ever since moving to RAW she has improved a lot in the ring. But with McCool holding the belt it might take a good few month maybe a nice feud between the 2(and Layla). She also has the look Vince likes.

Is there really another face diva on Smackdown who's worthy to be champion? Because Tiffany is no where near ready for something like this, and Beth Phoenix is currently on the shelf, so I wouldn't be surprised if Kelly got a run with the Women's championship. Kelly has improved in the ring over the years, and she gets pretty nice pops from the crowd, so I don't see a problem with her having a chance at being Women's champion. But at the same time, I don't know if WWE would be willing to do this. LayCool is the hottest thing on Smackdown as far as divas go, so I don't know if WWE would want to pull the trigger on a Kelly Kelly title run.

Yes, she should, she is a hard worker I think, and she has improved a lot over the past few years...I think she should have gotten a reign before Alicia Fox...now that was just shocking...

She is a very beautiful women, she gets cheers and is very over as a diva in WWE...i think her reign may be coming soon, she has been feuding with LayCool for the past few months and is defeating them as well..what does that show..a push?? she and Tiffany are a good team as well..but i don't see anything big, they're just blonde friends!!

I think Wade Barrett said it best,the Winds of Change are blowing within the WWE.I think the best thing for bookers to do right now is stand back and see what the new generation can do and then let the writing flow from there.Put these guys and girls out there in mid card filler matches,observe how they tell the story and then find a niche for them.I think Kelly Kelly is a prime example.She's been working hard on Raw and more recently Smackdown,and now with the dreadful lack of face divas on Smackdown,it's time to move K2 up the ranks.She's been around for some years and she knows what to do in the ring.She has the credibility to challenge LayCool and I think they show just throw her into the mix as soon as possible so they can have a decent Diva Defense at MITB or Summerslam. Layla's been in the ring more often now and that in itself is perfect time to work on areas you're lacking and Layla's done just that.I think Kelly would be a wonderful Women's Champion,and it's time for a lengthy face run with the title as well.

I'll play a little devil's advocate here and say no, she does not deserve a title reign. Here's why:

When Mickie James got released, WWE felt Smackdown would be fine with Beth becoming the top face and Kelly Kelly taking the #2 spot as she was drafted over from Raw. When Beth went down, panic set in. At that time, reports were ablaze that the WWE regretted firing Mickie and were looking into hiring good female workers from the indys or even hiring Lisa Varon (Victoria or Tara) back to fill the void while Beth was gone. Clearly, Kelly was not thought of highly enough to take that top face spot, so every other option was considered. When nothing came through, Kelly started to get her push.

Let's consider this though. Kelly is getting pushed now, since no one else is around to push. You have a top heel team that is the most popular female act in wrestling at the moment. Why would you have them lose their edge by losing the title. Classic booking says that you build up Kelly with victories like she's had lately so that people THINK she will win the title, only for the heels to find a way to keep it, thus gaining them more heat. This is the perfect way to book it, as Kelly could keep trying, along with Tiffany, but neither can gain the belt until Beth comes back and finally takes down the evil Laycool. This would be the bigger payoff and very worthwhile from a booking standpoint. Giving the title to Kelly would be nice for her, but have no positive long term effects.

I'm not the biggest Kelly Kelly fan on the planet, but I'm not saying she's the worst thing in wrestling either. She's average in basically every aspect, and her crowd reaction is decent. That's all fine and good, but Beth Phoenix is the hotter commodity, so the proper thing to do is to hold off until Beth come back. No offense to Kelly, but there is no good that can come of a Kelly Kelly title reign at this time.

I would say yes, as it would be nice to see the most well known WWE Diva at the moment who is also very over, and seemingly wanting to improve, carry their strap.

I think also fans would be more into a divas division with a face champion with the heels chasing after her, just my 2 cents.

oh for the love of god YES, Kelly is WAAAY overdue for a title run, all that time spent on raw, and nothing. now she been on smackdown since this most recent draft, and up untill now has really not done much, if you actually watch the matches she been having, her in ring ability has greatly improved. sure has come a long way since the strip shows on ECW. i say do EVERYONE a favor and end this "co holders" crap, and put the strap on Kelly Kelly!

Yes I think Kelly is ready for her first title reign I think she has earned it but does the WWE creative team think she has earned it?

Kelly has worked hard and has improved in the ring and it has shown. However I don't think that she will win at the next PPV Laycool will find someway to cheat but I think she will get the title in the near future follwing the PPV.

I wouldn't give her the strap just yet, but it certainly looks as if they are prepping here for a future reign. K squared is over with the crowd and with the Glamazon out she is the top face diva on the Blue Brand. Like thrilla said in the OP she has scored pinfall victories over the co-Women's champions, Lay-Cool. I say give her a shot at MITB or Summerslam, but come up short, but only for her to get built back up and win the title at Survivor Series.

Look at it this way...

Mickie James got released, thus voiding the top face spot on SD. Considering Beth Phoenix's tweener role in the Michelle/Mickie saga, they decided to turn her face. With her on the shelf, Kelly Kelly is the next in line. So, by process of elimination, they've decided to make Kelly Kelly the next challenger in line to Team LayCool's championship. That's the logic that the SD creative have been using and I see nothing more in it.

If we were to discuss it in detail, Kelly Kelly has done enough to warrant her becoming champion. She hasn't grown as much as her Extreme Expose counterpart Layla, but since she started she has definitely improved alot. She has slowed down her pace in the ring and as a result wrestles much better. She's pretty over with the crowd and gets a decent enough pop when her music hits the arena. She's got the entire package that the WWE looks for in their diva's and it may well be her time to shine. Having her go over LayCool would be very logical too considering the storyline of them picking on her for being flawed (i.e. the Smelly Kelly name-calling). Like the Piggy James story, Kelly goes over the bullies and embarrasses them.

I can definitely see her getting the strap... but I can also see Layla retaining. There has been a four-year rivalry between Kelly Kelly and Layla... and counting. I could see a Trish/Lita type match happening between these two in years to come.

Im not sure part of me says yes and then Part of me says no here is why:
I say yes because in the long run although improved I just do not see Layla holding the title for a long period of time. Also because Kelly kelly is wayyyy over (listen to the reaction) and I believe once you give her the title she may be able to and also have a reason to improve her average wrestling skills. I say no because I recently heard that AJ Lee from FCW is set to debut on smackdown in the near future and if that is true based on her background and the amount of face divas on smackdown I doubt she'll be a heel but only time will tell. I am very uncertain about Kelly chances of getting the title but I also think it would be a nice change of pace for the divas on the blue brand.

I can not see Kelly Kelly winning the Women's championship, as Laycool is just getting into their main part of their run, and I just don't see Kelly being the one defeating them for the belt.

Kelly is below average in the ring, and really is nothing special on the microphone either, while Laycool is WAY better overall then Kelly. Kelly is a top diva face for her hotness and not for her ability, and I can't see her winning.

I will say yes Kelly Kelly deserves a Womens championship reign, ever since she started wrestling, she has gradually improved, and she has proved she can against the top women in WWE (there isn't that many at the moment), Kelly is extremely over and the fans love her, that and she is attractive as hell and WWE loves that. Kelly also knows how to wrestle better than some of the women in WWE, which its obvious which ones can't wrestle that well. So i can't wait until Kelly gets the title.

But this is a wrestling show. I don't give 7 fucks about how hot they are. I want to see these women moonsault and bigboot eachother in the neck. Kelly Kelly simply cannot wrestle. It must be terrifying for her opponent to be in the ring with someone who doesn't know what the fuck to do other than scream and do an assisted energy and time wasting backflip.

I would pick either of the Bella Twins and Jillian and Tiffany over Kelly Kelly for most deserving of a title run.

Kelly Kelly does deserve a title run now. If she continues to improve as much as she has, she can be huge someday. Since the WWE is keeping Diva's around, you can't expect many dominant female wrestlers to come through.

No. She is not one of the better ones. Quite the opposite. I don't know what you see in her other than her hotness because she does not have the skills necessary to carry a championship belt. No mic skills. None. NONE. Terrible moveset. She is a botch specialist. Plus, when has she been in the ring longer than 5 minutes? Once? Twice? Never?

Take a look at the diva roster for both shows:

SD - Beth Phoenix, Layla, Michelle McCool, Rosa Mendes, Serena, Tiffany

RAW - Alicia Fox, Bella Twins, Eve Torres, Gail Kim, Jillian, Maryse, Melina, Natalya, Tamina

Kelly Kelly could not on her best day beat anyone mentioned above. Active or Inactive. She is at best a jobber. She's fucking worse in the ring than Maria was and Maria was a horrendous wrestler.

Her stint in Extreme Expose was a shit sandwich.

The only time she gets a victory is when she is paired up in a tag match.

The fact that she was the SD #1 pick at the draft made me fart out loud with disbelief. Really SD? I know this is all scripted, but come on. #1 overall? GTFO.

The best thing she's done so far in her "wrestling" career was take Mike Knox's finishing move like a fucking pro.

The crazy thing is, is that they're going to put the belt on her. Why is it crazy? Because, and I mean this, Kelly Kelly is the worst female wrestler in the WWE. Shit, she's the worst female wrestler on WWE or TNA. I don't know about worst female wrestler ever, but if there was a list for worst female wrestler ever, she would be on it somewhere.

But she's super hot. So...I guess that's what it takes to be a champion in the women's division.

Kelly deserves it more than most of the current active women wrestlers on SD and RAW because the majority of them are not that good, Gail doesn't deserve it, Rosa, Jillian and The Bella Twins, none of them deserve a title, because no one has interest in them and they dont have good skills in the ring. On the other hand Kelly does, she has actually im[roved over time and is extremely over so they are 2 reasons why she dserves a title run.

wait wait...this is a joke right? All you people saying she deserves a title run? What in the heck qualifies her for that? Because she's feuding with Laycool? Because it CERTAINLY cannot be anything about her wrestling ability or lack there of. Sure she's improved, but she started so low that it was bound to happen. The girl is still extremely green inside the ring. Giving her a title would be as big of a mistake as it was to give Lacey Von Erich a job. Kelly is no where near ready to handle being the women's champion. She might want it and I'm sure a lot of her fans do too. But handing her a title would be a mistake, she still needs at least two more years before she's really ready for it. I mean look at what happened to the divas title (not that it had any dignity in the first place) but they're putting it on girls that really just aren't ready to have it. Eve is improving in the ring but she can't talk on a mic to save her life (much like Kelly) and now Alicia is hardly even getting ring time even though she's the champ. Handing the belt to Kelly this early in the game would be a huge mistake by the WWE. Laycool is so over right now they could rival some of the guys in popularity (and yes you can be over as a heel). Laycool is finally bringing back credibility to the women's division on SD which hasn't been the same since Mickie was fired...or maybe since Melina got traded *shrugs*. But either way they deserve a long title reign and I would venture to guess that their "co-championship" reign will end when Laycool does.

I going to say yes to this, kelly gets a face pop from the crowd and as said she is one of the most known WWE Diva's out there.She is a favourite with little kids and girls, she has been improving in the ring and has pinned a former Womens Champion.She is a great for bringing the WWE to a new people and if she is giving a run it would help.

But with that said, I think it would be bad at the moment to give her a title run.Just because Lay-Cool is coming into a decent par of their run and it wouldn't be smart to take the gold off them.So Kelly Kelly will get a Championship run but it will have to wait for a little bit.
