Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
Now here we have flash vs. flash and old vs. new.

Introducing first we have a man that took wrestling by storm, then just faded away only to try to do it all over again. To say this guy made an impact is an understatement. He burst onto the scene as a jobber and shockingly won his debut match. The rest is history. When he beat Hulk Hogan for the WCW Title in Atlanta, THAT was what WCW needed to stay on top. I don't ever remmeber a pop like that in WCW, ever. Ladies and Gentlemen, DA MAN, GOLDBERG!

He faces a former 3 time World Heavyweight Champion. He built himself up as the common man. His promos are just great. If you've never heard his Hard Times promo, go find it immediately. Supposedly people stopped him in airports etc crying over how real he got with that and how close to home it hit. His rivalry with Ric Flair and the Horsemen is nothing short of legendary, and he is famous for his time in WWF as well as his offspring. He is the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes!

You know the drill. Who's the winner, and why?

Wow. Just wow. I don't even know what to do. You have the guy that made my Middle School days memorable in Goldberg. Who simply just trounced all over the competition. A man who took WCW by the throat and shook it to it's very foundation. Also a man who got booed like hell on his last night in WWE.

Then you have the son of a plumber. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Who literally stood up for all the working class people. A former champion in his own right. Legendary battles with The Four Horsemen. A man who also produced some nifty wrestlers himself in Cody and Dustin.

While Goldberg came in and made a big splash and got people talking. Even to this very day. You have Dusty Rhodes who gave us a lot more memories and the ever present "Dusty Finish". Dusty Rhodes takes this one for me.

Goldberg defines the word "flash in the pan" as far as wrestling is concerned. He got one of the most dominant pushes of all time, became hugely over while nothing fantastic in the ring, certainly not enough to warrant his standing in WCW at his highest point. Then WCW died. Then he went to WWE and failed at doing the one thing he was good at, squashing people for 100+ weeks or whatever it was, because there was no chance in hell they would do that again. Don't get me wrong, I like Goldberg but he really wasn't all that good. The days I liked him...that was when I was a mark by the way. Goldberg had no passion for the business and now he's just a footnote in wrestling history.

Dusty Rhodes...you can't fault that the guy is entertaining as hell, while a worse wrestler than Goldberg. But it didn't matter...best guy on the mic with a speech impediment after Ric Flair. He was just entertaining all the time and manage to do the best with his limited wrestling skills. Don't forget all the years he's dedicated to the business that he clearly loves.

The son of the plumber, who spawned the son of the son of the plumber wins this for because he has more entertainment value to me and has been more useful to the business than Goldberg ever was.
