Just saw the rise and fall of WCW

El Rev sXe

If you have ghosts...
and all I can say is WOW! At start is kinda borring but then it gets interesting. I can see that at some point in history WCW was the biggest wretling company. I was impressed with the whole nWo thing, crusierweight division.

However there were a couple things that bothered me the most: many guys taking creative control (Bischoff, Russo, Hogan, Nash...), some of those guys weren't even wrestlers and didn't know anything about it, burying new talent (especially "foreign" talent, obviously outside the cruiserweight division), David Arquette :banghead:, the gigantic faction that was at the end nWo and Hogan always (actually almost) being champion.

So it kind scare me cause I saw some pattern repeating with TNA :suspic:

Oh and Jericho looked really resentful with WCW :lmao:

That documentary is one of the most misleading and ridiculous things ever released by WWE which is saying a lot.

Really? Cause that's what I understood: WCW destoyed itself with, well you know, the whole Hogan creative team and other things.

Yeah KB lol, show me please. I want to understand some things about wrestling and I need to know about WCW. Unfortunely we didn't get either WCW here in Bolivia :(

As much as I hate to brag (bullshit but work with me here) ask anything you'd like to know. I think I have it down pretty well.

Your thougths guys about the "pattern" between WCW and TNA?

There are some very similar issues there. Not everything is as bad as 1999 and 2000 were just absolutely horrible and things went very bad very fast. TNA isn't there yet but they're doing themselves no favors.

Great post KB!!!! Thanks for the link man! So WHAT THE FUCK with the match between Hogan and Sting??!!! Seriously, it didn't made any sense! Bret, Hogan, the ref, even Sting!!! None of those element lead to an amazing ending of nWo. I mean, from what I read, everything was there! EVERYTHING! However it seems like Hogan can't look bad...

So the nWo went for almost 4 years?! FOUR YEARS!!?? Plus, nWo died, and then it came back!!?? :disappointed: :wtf: :banghead: Why that happened?

Goldberg at some point was heel and/or joined nWo?

Why Sting went "crow" Sting? And why he stayed that way?

Yeah that match is what to this day I will call the reason WCW ultimately lost. They were awesome until then and then things started going bad.

Yeah the NWO finally died off around February of 2000 due to injuries.

Goldberg went heel in late 2000. No one liked it as he was still very popular and still selling a ton of merchandise.

Sting went crow after Fall Brawl 96. He had been the old surfer dude until the Monday before War Games (big double cage match at Fall Brawl) the NWO had a fake Sting show up and beat down Lex Luger, Sting's best friend. Everyone in WCW said he sold out so at the PPV the fake Sting came out and no one bought it. Then the REAL Sting came out and beat the crap out of the whole NWO then walked away. The next night he said WCW could stick it as everyone turned their back on him, the most loyal guy in the company. He didn't speak again for over a year.
