Jurassic Park 4: Starring Chris Jericho

I am still hoping as well that they change this match because it will look like a boring and stupid match 2 me.Vince has to have someone for this match. I think that why he is so hush hush on stoyline leaking out. we still have three more weeks people. and the wwe is working in the recession so thats why the matches are kind of lame.

theres actually only 2 weeks left 2 raws left before wrestle mania 25 march 23rd and march 30th,now do you really think jericho would challenge piper, snuka, and steamboat, who have apeared multiple times for this storyline, only to have someone who hasnt even been mentioned during the feud (austin, hogan),if you do :schild13: im not singling you out nor am i trying to pick on you and you didnt even mention austin or hogan,im picking on all the people who think theres going to be a swerve in 2 weeks,i could see austin do a stunner thats it

I was begging WWE not to do Lawler vs Jericho one on one but this is actually worse. All this will be is three old men getting dominated by a young guy, mounting a comeback, getting owned some more, getting interference from Rourke/Lawler/The Entourage of Legends, hitting all their finishers and beating him. Jericho will run from the scene holding his jaw and the Legends will celebrate.

I'd be more interesting in Jericho vs Lawler in some sort of Legends Lumberjack affair. Put all the guys on the outside, knowing they won't touch Lawler and will kick the hell out of Jericho if he leaves the ring. That edge would somewhat even out the physical one Jericho enjoys. Is that a bad match idea? I think it would work better than a 3 on 1.

I dont believe this, I waz fully expecting creative to pull through, but there i go trusting the WWE to deliver the match i wanted. I was okay with Hogan not being there cuz of legal trouble, thts fine. But hows does someone who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame two nights before can not compete in a match tht could be labeled as the last match of his career. It just doesnt make sense at all. If they couldnt have gotten Austin to do it, then they needed to find a worthy replacement. Not Steamboat, Snuka, and Piper. Dont get me wrong, i love these superstars, but is it just me or if did u look at them on Raw that they looked like they needed to be in a retirement home. None of these superstars were exactly main eventers in there own right, they never won a world title, and have never headlined Wrestlemania (im not sure bout Piper, but i think he hasnt) At least bring Savage, Hart, Rock, etc, (just namin names). Overall, if they couldnt find anybody, they should ahve stuck him in the MITB match and hav Ric skrew him over a win. I would have lyked that then this crap

This is going to be great. I think everyone needs to relax. The fact that this Wrestlemania looks bad makes me believe even more that something big is going to happen. With this match however, I am disappointed. I'm not sure theres any saving it. I've been hoping for Savage or Austin or Hogan, but whatever. Someone did mention Sid, who was pulled out of Booker T's thing. I wouldn't mind that but shit, Just don't know about this match.

I've been reading a lot of bashing on Mickey Rourke for backing out of a match at Wrestlemania, and to be honest, I don't understand it. Rourke has a respect for the business, and he realized that there was no way that he, an actor with very limited experience, on a set, with stunt coordinators, multiple takes and extreme editing could have managed to perform a match, in front of a live audience, at the biggest PPV event of the year no less. Even if Jericho carried him, he would still wound up looking like crap, there is no denying that. If you want to blame anyone, blame the WWE for even bringing that idea up and then for not having a back-up plan to cover it. Personally, I would not have put Snuka or Steamboat or Flair into this deal at all, Snuka looks like an extra from Resident Evil, and Steamboat, well, let's just say he's office material, and then there's Flair...he saddens me more and more each time I see him on TV, doesn't this guy have any self respect ? I think Piper vs Jericho would have worked fine, they could have tested the water by having Piper ask the crowd if they wanted him to face Jericho, if he gotten a positive reaction, go for it. Piper alone vs Jericho would have made him an underdog, and having Jericho obliterate Piper would have seemed real enough, pushing it to the limit where the audience just prayed to have someone run in and stop the massacre could have worked with Rourke saving the day, but putting all the geezers vs Jericho is making HIM look like the underdog now, I do hope they change this thing and fast.

Ric Flair against Chris Jericho would suck, they said. Flair coming out of retirement would make WrestleMania's match for Chris Jericho totally horrible, they said. I want anything other than Flair against Jericho, they said.

I'm wanting to single handedly kick everyone who represents "they" in the fucking nuts. Because I blame each of you for this shitfest we just got stuck with. Seriously, instead of one Beyond his Prime "Legend".. we now get two WELL beyond their prime "Legends" in Piper & Snuka, and a guy that was never even remotely interesting enough barring ONE Mania III match-up, in Steamboat.

And the worst part.. it's a 3 against 1 match. Those are the worst fucking matches to have on Pay per view. They're pointless and ******ed.. and to boot, the heel is the one with the numbers against him. T.N.A has finally found their way into the Creative room at W.W.E HQ.

I'd have much rather seen Ric Flair against Chris Jericho, one-on-one, because at least them I know Flair can still remotely go. Steamboat is the only credible athlete within this group that I'm unsure of on how much he can give. Piper is out of shape, and can't give much.. and Snuka seems like he can barely move anymore.

Jericho is somehow going to lose this match according to all the rumors, and while I could see a massive swerve that puts Flair as Jericho's new Manager.. if Jericho does lose, and this all leads to NOTHING.. then why not just put Jericho in the Money in the Bank match, because this is a worthless waste of talent and time. Poor Chris Jericho.

I'm holding out hope that Flair will bust Rourke in the mouth, then turn on the Legendary Trio, and help Jericho. I'd love to see Flair manage Chris Jericho.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking but this match has yet to be officially announced on the official Wrestlemania page.

On Raw Jericho did issue a challenge but it wasn't answered yet. With all the over swerving the WWE has done up to this point with Wrestlemania 25 maybe just maybe the Legends will say they have a better idea for Jericho and come out with a better opponent for him.

Austin? Please for the love of God Austin?

Wishful thinking sure but hey At least until Monday I'll have some hope. It is painfully obvious that Piper and Snuka can barely move so maybe just maybe the WWE knows this too and is goign to swerve us one more time.

this is my first thread so i appologise if i duplicated....

I cant believe the 2008 superstar of the year...and so desering of that honour Chris Jericho was put into 1 hell-of-a story-line but the expectations that the internet and the wrestling world put into who Chris would end up facing at Mania were HUGE.....

I for 1 am so dissapointed with Chris facing Snuka, Piper, Steamboat with Flair in their corner....i really am...i actually am frigen pissed off. They could have done so much and put someone worthwhile in there. I heard the following....

Jericho Vs. Hogan-i would love to see this match...anything with hogan draws!

Jericho Vs. Randy savage-again i would love to see this match but i didnt see it happening with the whole Vince/Savage hatred

Jericho Vs. Lawler-this i hated but in retrospect would love to have seen rather that what we are being fed

Jerico Vs. Austin-austin cant wrestle anymore---its a shame!

Jericho Vs. Flair-again a match with Flair draws...wooooooooo!

So to the point of the thread...if YOU could pick someone for Jericho to face at WRESTLEMANIA 25...pick any legend from any brand/promotion period regardless of age...who would it be? he doesnt have to be from this era....this is a hypothetical question....example (benoit, who isnt even alive etc)

I would pick Bret Hart....these 2 would have out on a technical showdown....i think IMO this would have been huge but like i said its hypothetical....in a real world i would have loved to see Hogan come back!

Roddy Piper...in his heyday would be perfect for this match. Piper has the ability to play the heel/face card perfectly so this match could go either way with Piper cheating to get the win, and perhaps screwing over Jericho, which would make for a great storyline following 'Mania because Jericho's promos are awesome.

IMO Hogan would suck in this match, even Jericho couldn't carry Hogan; Hogan would still draw more than almost any other legend, but the match itself would be horrible.

Ric Flair isn't an option, because he wants to honor his retirement and the "send-off" that he got from the company and his peers.

To me the only viable option would be for a superstar from Raw or Smackdown! to standup for the legends someone who could get a huge rub from a victory over Jericho, with the legends in his corner...someone like Ted Dibiase Jr., it is too bad that the WWE is wasting Rhodes and Dibiase right now as Orton(who doesn't need their help in the feud with HHH).

I still cant stop holding onto the hope that Vince is going to swerve all of us.

This could have been THE Wrestlemania match, instead if it goes down as planned it will be a severe disappointment.

My money is still on Jericho vs Batista.

If I could pick anyone , I would pick Ricky Steamboat circa 1989.
If you think about it these two are perfect for each other.
They are extremely good mat wrestlers. They can both fly when neccesary, without over doing it. This match if given enough time, could reach the legendary status of Savage/Steamboat and Jericho/HBK pt 1 .

With the travesty that took place on Raw this week I think Jericho was right all along about the legends and after the old age home made a feeble attempt at attacking him, it pretty much confirmed everything he said. I know he's supposed to be heel and all but seriously how can you not side with this guy come WrestleMania in his piss poor excuse for a match. Maybe if he had a suitable opponent I would think differently but these three (Steamboat,Snuka,Piper) are you kidding me. When Vince bought WCW did that mean the notebook where they wrote their storylines came with it, because it reminds me of the crap they would put out. In all honesty how many people will actually cheer for jericho....I for one will

The Ultimate Warrior or Bret hart. that would be awesome. If it could happen... obviously it can't. For someone actually able to do it.... I would have chosen Jericho vs. The Undertaker...if he wasn't facing Shawn Michaels. Instead were stuck with this weird handicap match. nice

I agree that Jericho vs. Undertaker would be a very wise choice for a wrestlemania match if taker wasn't already booked against Michaels. I would imagine that Taker and Jericho would have a natural chemistry with one another. It would make more sense than a taker-hbk match.

I really don't like this handicapped match that they currently have Jericho booked in...for the following reasons. I don't understand why they keep bringing Snuka back on television. It's pretty gross to see the current shape he's in. There's no way that he could deliver a passable match with anyone. Same goes for Piper...but atleast Piper is still entertaining on the mic. His ringwork is going to be no better than that of one of WWE's own divas.

Personally, I think the best scenario to go with for Jericho is to just have him face Steamboat one on one with the rest of the "legends" in Steamboats corner. Granted, Steamboat isn't anywhere near he was, physically, in his prime, i'm sure he still has some great ring psychology left in him to deliver a solid match. Having broken down versions of Snuka and Piper kinda cheapens it all for me.

For that travesty of match at Cyber Sunday. Not only was the match bad(because of Batista), but having all three special guest refs come down was just one the stupidest things i've ever seen. Stone Cold wins the vote, stuns Randy Orton, and has a few beers with Batista, yeah who couldn't see that one coming. Don't get me wrong, Stone Cold is one of my all tme favorites, but surley WWE creative could've come up with a better way to bring him back. And that whole clusterfuck of a match was all for what? So Batista could be WHC for a little more than a week.

I don't know if anyone else has thought of this, but why not have Chris Jericho vs R Truth at WM25....This whole angle started when Chris Jericho took shots at Mickey Rourke. R Truth was one of Rourke's co-stars in the movie "The Wrestler". R Truth vs Jericho wouldn't be a bad match and I think it would give Truth the rub he needs to be one of the top guys in WWE. Plus the fact that R Truth is from North Carolina and grew up watching all these mid-atlantic legends like Flair, Steamboat, Snuka, Piper, etc...it would make sense for him wanting to defend the legends.

It's a dummy match. A diversionary tactic to use until the real match is announced. WWE doesn't always make the right decisions, but I'm fairly sure they're smart enough not to put a hot heel in there against three over the hill babyfaces at Wrestlemania. If I had to put money on it I would say the chances of Mickey Rourke and Jericho at Wrestlemania are better than this three on one quadmire. (Since Vince is in ultra secret mode these days, keeping something like Rourke's involvement under wraps would not be unexpected.)

I'm betting he will be getting a real opponent. There's still two weeks until Mania.

One thing is for sure. If WWE doesn't do something big to pay off the last two months, Wrestlecrap will have a new induction.

For all the hard work he put into this stoyline, only to have it end up in the toilet.
Read A LIons Tale. This storyline is much like the one that Y2J built with Goldberg. He did all the work himself and instead of getting the huge payoff, the company pulled the rug out from underneath him. The WWE is the biggest company in the Business and they have the resources to pull off any of our wrestling wet dreams. But once again this is what they do to one of the hardest working and most entertaining workers they have.
Pity

They had no storyline for him, so let him run with it. They could have been smart to let Jericho smack talk Undertaker so Jericho could be the undisputed legend killer. After Wrestlemania Jericho will make a run for the title, which ever one it is.

Jericho is the best heel on TV right now, and has been since he became World Heavyweight Champion last year. I would put absolutely NO ONE on his level. Even Edge and Orton are AT LEAST one step down from where Jericho was, and currently IS.

My hopeful payoff to the Legends feud had them picking some from the roster, and all of them being in his corner come 'Mania. Of course, them helping him win wouldn't matter much at all, and wouldn't seem like much of a cheap finish. Having Jericho wrestle 3 Hall of Famers doesn't make much sense.

My cure to this: Have Jericho systematically eliminate all of them, Flair included, from possibly wrestling. Then, have them announce that they have someone to take their place at Wrestlemania. A Mystery Opponent for Jericho.

Flash to the Event: Jericho is in the ring, all the Legends are in the ring, when:

"KENNEDY!"

Kennedy comes down to beat Jericho, starting a feud that could last until at least June or July. It's simple, because Jericho could be drafted to Smackdown soon after, and this could be the 2nd tier feud behind the World Title. It brings Kennedy back fresh and gives him a HUGE rub, and it gives Jericho someone to continue building steam with.

I know that won't happen, but I love fantasy booking. It makes what actually does happen seem so, dissappointing.

You know what? You might be on to something. I was trying to come up with someone to have the Legends in his corner. Someone who could deliver a good match and get the HUGE rub by facing Jericho. I came up with Kennedy. R-Truth actually does make a whole hell of a lot more sense. Nicely done.

I do feel for Jericho. After all, his promos have been incredible and he really deserved a worth while match for wrestlemania. I think that the original plan may have been to have Austin come to wrestle him, but i think he declined the offer and Vince had to use this match as a last minute thing. This match could end controversially and be a huge twist, since Mickey Rourke will be appearing at Wrestlemania. Who knows? Maybe he may turn on the Legends and side with Jericho because there hasn't really been a celebrity come into the WWE and be a heel.

Yeah this match is building up to be the most craptastic Mania match for this year. I hope they do finally introduce his REAL opponent because the story is getting old fast and Jericho is way too good for this.

The only thing I could think of to fix this would be to have the superstars he rambled on for years about beating in the same night to become the 1st undisputed champ, The Rock & Stone Cold, come take him out at Mania. I'm pretty sure Stone Cold will be involved and not anyone on the current active roster because WM is where fueds are supposed to end and this would put and end to Jericho's arguements about the legends. I doubt the Rock..excuse me..I mean Dwayne Johnson will agree to be a part of this as wrestling is now beneath him.

I just hope the match as it is now does not take place..for Jericho's sake and for ours!

Well I for one hope its a swerve, and next week on Raw, Jericho is beating down Snuka, Piper and Steamboat, then someone makes the save. Seriously, how is this match going to go ahead? Piper couldn't bump in 1996, Snuka is old and can't take any full bumps and Steamboat had to retire early. I hope its a swerve and Hogan or Austin make the save this week on Raw.

I think we all have to agree, that this shit stinks of Vince's desperation. I think that because he couldn't sign Hogan's, Austin's, or even Rourke's name on the dotted line, he figures that the more high-profile names he can put into the match can uplift the press on it, and satify the people. I do hope there is a swerve and Jericho takes out Piper, Steamboat, and Snuka before Mania, and someone comes in to make the save. Hell, as painful as it would be, I would absolutely prefer Flair to come out of retirement.

Or, perhaps the reason Vince is booking it is because they can do a WM21 like moment with Hogan and Hassan, and have Y2J win and then continue beat the shit out of them afterwards, only to have that classic WrestleMania moment with Steve Austin making his way down the ramp and open up a WM can of whoop-ass in the AstroDome. That's the only way they can save this match from causing the whole of Houston to riot.
