Chris Jericho is THE REASON that I watch RAW!!!

Just a reminder-------he's the 2008 Superstar of the Year. Heck, he may be the 2009 Superstar of the Year if you'll give him something to work with!!!

Rourke backed out. Then I thought Hogan or Austin.....I'm still hoping one of them will face Jericho.

I really like the LEGENDS, BUT JERICHO deserves to shine on the BIGGEST STAGE!!!!! IT'S A SHAME if Jericho vs. Piper, Steamboat, & Snuka takes place. The fans would rather see Jericho beat them....which I hope he does.
At this point, I guess I'd have Jericho beat the 3 Legends, then PLEASE have Stone Cold come out and let he and Jericho put on a 3 minute match!!!

That's the only thing that can save it now!!!

Well as much as I like those 3 wrestlers, its not possible they can put on much of a good match, but anyway heres some stuff to think about.

The match is not yet made official, so its possible next week on Raw we get a better match made, thought I'd figure if it was going to be Austin they would of wanted this match made by now, so they could promote it.

I think its possible they had Y2J throw out the match offer so WWE could make some calls to wrestlers for this match?

Here are some wrestlers who could face Y2J, who fit the role of being on the legends side.

Randy Savage - being in good shape is unknown - is on good terms though
The Rock - not in wrestling shape, and very far fetched
Sid Justice - wants one more big WWE show - is in the shape to go - good pick
Ultimate Warrior - far and away the best shape of anyone possible for this match - would be a huge sell as well like Austin would of been
Batista - so forgotten but hes said he'll be rdy to go by Mania, he's not a legend but could have the legends in his corner - would be a good match anyway

It would have been better if Flair had bough in a representative for him and the legends. Steamboat hasn't done anything in years. Piper & Snuka were quickly eliminated from the Royal Rumble last year. They both looked awful in the process.

After his reaction at the Royal Rumble, and as a last minute thing, I'd bring in RVD. His matches with Jericho before have been solid, not that they could be any worse than three legends wrestling badly anyway.

Looks like another flop for the WWE....I would have been happier having Flair facing Jericho at WM but instead you get Snuka, Steamboat, and Piper. Jericho has no chance of winning this now.

Perhaps creative is still building toward a bigger matchup for Wrestlemania. Jericho comes out week after week bad mouthing WWE Legends, and even attacking them.


Perhaps they are planing on a Lumberjack match, with legends surrounding the ring. That could turn out to be a decent match, if they give Jericho the right opponent.

Jericho has one of the worst records at Wrestlemania, so no matter who he fought he would be putting them over. Not many people can say they fought Snuka, Piper and Steamboat at Mania, let alone 3 at one time. Granted, they're way past their prime, but 3-on-1 is going be great. Jericho will have the advantage until the combination of Flair/Rourke make it too much for him to handle.

HUGE Jericho fan. Cannot wait. I''m making a gigantic sign saying "Wrestlemania is Jericho!"

Although I still had high hopes for Austin vs. Jericho. Oh well. HBK/Taker is stealing the show.

it looked like they were going to try and make it Jericho/Hogan, then that fell apart then Jericho/Austin and it look slike that fell apart as well

ok, NO ONE ever EVER confirmed that austin was even a candiate to be in the running to perform at WM. Infact, it was stated over and over that he was not going to get in the ring ever again. this came from JR and from Austin himself.

it was just wishful thinking on the part of a lot of people, not ever a fact set in stone. the angle is what is is because rourke dropped out, and that's all it is. now, they just have to make the best of the crapfest they have.

I heard Vince had this one covered by that I thought he would have brought an explosive legend in. No offence to Piper but the guy has just recovered from cancer and Snuka isn't able to move as much in the ring. Steamboat could still prove a good opponent but Vince declared he had this one covered I geniuenly thought we would be shocked by Rock or Austin or someone else walking down to the ring but this is a big let down all just for Mickey Rourke to punch Y2J and cos him the match Bullssshhhhhhhhhhhhhitttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do we now have at Mania. HBK/Taker will be a great match. Trips and Orton will be OK. No doubt a McMahon will screw Trips and I don't have much thought for anything else. MITB bores me now because of all this health and safety shit Vince puts on the wrestlers that they ain't allowed to hit big spots anymore. WrestleMania XX5 will end up like WM XX total shit.

These truly are dark times for the WWE to see 3 former legends who can't even walk properly to the ring beating up Jericho and him selling a weak punch by Flair. The fans all looked confused when Snuka and Steamboat showed up and guess why? Because the little kids who are probably thinking 'Who the Fuck are they?'. These truly are dark times to see that Jericho is gonna have to carry 3 overwight, overaged wrestlers who can't even walk to the ring properly. I've ordered the last 4 WM's in a row (Well basically all of them since they went to Sky Box Office) but this WM I will not simply be buying because of the shit-fest on that shitty card. WM XXV..pfft. Thats why to me its going to be a normal RAW show and I'm just hyping WM XXVI (Hence why its in my sig).

This match is very disappointing. I think Jericho has done a great job with this angle and the climax is turning out to be much less than stellar. I was hoping all of this business would lead up to a match against a bigger name- maybe Hogan, Austin, Hart, Savage or The Rock. It's WM25, so was expecting it to be a blowout party. I honestly feel bad for Jericho if this is the match he has to wrestle at Mania. He has his work cut out for him.

This match sounds terrible. What did Jericho do to deserve this demotion? Surely they could have done something better for him...what a waste of his talents. This is just a way to have some sort of Mickie Rourke involvement. All I can say is that I am not excited about this offering in any way shape or form!!

Holy Shit talk about bullshit on this one. As justin said, this match started out with so much fucking potential, and it has become nothing more then a piss break. Yes, the match featuring Chris Jericho is going to be more of a piss break then the Diva Match on the card, and that's freaking terrible.

For all the people that bitched about Mickey Rourke being involved at Mania, and that he sucks, he's a celeb, blah blah blah, well are you happy. You got what you wished for, Rourke out, and instead replaced potentially by three guys that are 20 years out of their primes, yippie fucking doo da day. What a terrible turn of events, one of the worst things i have seen in a long time.

If you can't lock in Austin, Hogan, or Rouke for a match against Jericho what else can you do you know? Yeah, this will probably be just a short silly match, like only the 2nd or 3rd match into WM. Not a type of main event by any means. But if thats the case, if thats what it is, thats okay I guess. I, for one, was expecting something BIG. Like WM moment big.. Like a moment for the ages big. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. But what else do we have to look forward to at this point for WM?

I don't know about you but I can't wait to see Taker vs HBK, this should be a great old school match up hopefully and I hope nobody does a run in to wreak what I think will be a great old school match up that will steal the show.

As far as Y2J's match, it is basically a side show attraction that will feature some of the WWE legends with Ric Flair ringside and a knockout punch that will be thrown by Randy "The Ram" AKA Mickey Rourke it will be interesting to see if Rourke gets called out into the ring and or the knock out will happen outside the ring.

I'm looking forward to Money in the Bank also I look for Christan to win it all.

I agree. Flair was not coming out of retirement obviously. I would've been pissed since I saw Flair/HBK live. Jericho doesn't deserve this, but it will be better than whatever match Cena is in.

You could have got 50% off by doing that Kmart shopping thing. I ended up buying the Edge dvd which I wasn't going to, and it's not too bad.

Welp only good matches at mania is taker vs. hbk....and orton vs. hhh......i mean really they couldnt get hogan, austin, hart, hell they got the money pay the rock......instead they get the 20 in a 65 bunch (old people drive slow) they get the aarp gang, they get the buick drivers club ( old people drive alot of those), they get the hooverround thugs....i could go on and on...but really this mania is shit.....i mean jericho deserves better than this.....and really money in the bank? im kinda ok wit kane cause he can sorta fly but who in the blue hell thinks mark herny and his two ton ass can even put a foot on the ladder before it gives way.....honestly i was around for brett but i seen couple matches of his and him and jericho would be great....hell the ultimate legend hogan....

Definitely a huge shame that arguably the top performer in WWE is once again forced to carry so much on his shoulders. When he returned, he had to carry the whole company because they lacked babyfaces. Then, he turned to his impressive heel persona (which he plays SUPERBLY) to carry John Cena all the way till the fans would once again pick up some interest in Cena. And like someone rightly said, his reward for a splendid 2008 is this crappy joke of a match?

Frankly speaking though, I saw this coming all along. Like someone else mentioned, however, the WWE hasn't confirmed this match yet so we shouldn't spend too much time bashing the PPV just yet. I am hoping Jericho gets a great match because I know for a fact that one of the reasons I watch WWE in the first place is because of the great professional known as Chris Jericho.

Everyone would be so much better off if Jericho has a decent match on the card because the WWE has already ruined the PPV with a horrible Money in the Bank match that features blobs like Henry and Finlay who can't even climb a ladder. It would have been truly AWESOME to see CM Punk vs. Christian vs. Rey Mysterio vs. DiBiase vs. Rhodes vs. Morrison vs. The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston in MOTB rather than what the WWE has booked.

WWE definetly dropped the ball with this one....Snuka, Piper, and Steamboat are all very old men who cannot take a bump worth shit.....Jericho was the WWE 08' wrestler of the year and at the biggest PPV of all time he shouldnt be put in this situation...

In all fairness Rourke ruined this bc he got everyones hopes up that he would fight Jericho..then he dropped out.....Hogan got everyones hopes up too but that seems to have fallen out too...Austin CANT WRESTLE so please people stop even dreaming bc it wont happen (i wish he could too), somebody mentioned savage but as much as i wish he even would have saved this angle i didnt see it happening.....

This could have been HUGE....its been ruined bc it had a buildup to be something so great...our only savior to what will be a washroom break/grab a beer break match will be stone cold coming out and stunning everyone, maybe Hogan coming out doing something but someone reputable coming out during the match....

this is so pathetic a match i noted in a previous thread i would hate to see lawler vs jericho but not i wouldnt mind it so much....

everycard needs a filler match or 2 but i wouldnt expect wrestlemania 25 to fit that bill too.....

Jericho vs Steamboat, Piper and Snuka is happening for 1 reason Vince McMahon is a cheap bastard. Last year he paid for Floyd Mayweather to wrestle the Big Show. Now I know it wasn't 20 million but I'm sure it was somewhere between 1 and 5 million. Tell me that Austin wouldn't wrestle 1 last time for a couple million. We can blame WWE creative for the decision on this match but everyone knows who has the final say on matches and that would be Vince. How stupid is Vince for not shelling out the money to Austin? How many more people would have bought Wrestlemania 25 just to see Austin's last match? Lastly how many people won't buy this ppv because of this lousy match? So the biggest WrestleMania ever doesn't have Austin or Hogan I would call that dropping the ball.

I still hold hope for a better thing at WM. When they were running the WM card during RAW last night, there was no "Just announced tonight, Jericho vs. Steamboat, Piper, and Snuka!" Perhaps Vickie, or Steph if she comes back anytime soon, will decline the match and put Jericho against someone else.

Honestly all you guys who bashed Lawler Jericho and now there's this. Tell me what is worse. I knwo he was released, but if you're bringing these guys back bring back Sgt. Slaughter. At least he still can perform. However this is a typical WrestleMania thing. A great buildup to a match only be have a huge let down at the end, which is why I ultimatly don't have high hopes for HBK/Taker. Too much hype and too much anticipation for it to live up to. Honestly Rey JBL is what I am looking toward. Not that it'll be a good match, but more hoping it will lead into Rey taking the title to Smackdown and hopefully it'll get the attention there it deserves. Not that I like Rey, but the IC title deserves better.

First of all I want to correct someone else. Bret did screw Bret! I am a huge Bret Hart fan. But what the hell would you have done if your main guy was leaving to a rival promotion and he would not drop the belt. WWE was in a ratings war with WCW. Having their champ show up in WCW without losing the title outright would have been terrible for WWE.

Bret was willing to drop the belt, he just thought that dropping it in Canada like that would bury his character going into WCW. Which I agree with. He was 100% OK with dropping the belt any time after that like the very next night on RAW.

And BTW, this WM is really starting to leave me disappointed. The direction they went with the Jericho angle on RAW really killed it for me. HBK/Taker should be the main event because its the only half way decent match on the card. And the Hardy's match should be a TLC match because with the guys they stuck in the MITB match were not gonna see very much high flying spots.
