Jurassic Park 4: Starring Chris Jericho

Showtime

It's Showtime!
First, man I love how no one ever really retires in Wrestling and here's hoping maybe that stays true. Chris Jericho is heading into Wrestlemania without a feud. His run with Cena should be over at No Way Out and his thing with Mickey Rouke appears to be dead. On RAW, Jericho made disparaging remarks against Ric Flair and now it's been advertised that Flair will appear next week on RAW. So how excited is everyone over the possibility of a Jericho/Flair match at Wrestlemania 25?

My initial reaction is I'm really excited for this. I love Jericho's character and I'm sure that this feud to Wrestlemania would be built more around promos and confrontations than wrestling so we'll get to hear two great promo men deal some classics out. The match could be a good match, it'll give Jericho and big name match at Wrestlemania rather than just being MITB filler again, but there in lies the mixed feelings. Ric Flair left on a high note n a steller match with Michaels, and was forced to retire. (I hate how it had to be retire, instead of just firing, which would have it make more sense when they do come back. The WWE I guess believes that it's the only Wrestling company out there so to not wrestle for them would be retirement, lol, anyway...) But then again, I guess now that he's retired he joins retired Mick Foley and semi Retired Hogan for doing occasional PPV matches. He and Jericho could very well have just as good as a match and as good as it would be if Flair has one more match and wins, I'd much rather see Jericho win. What are your thoughts? Perhaps Flair will be how we tie in Rouke and maybe HOFer Steamboat into the match as well? Am I just blowing smoke or do you guys see this happening and how excited are you?

I hope this doesn't happen. I still believe that Rourke will be involved as I can't imagine that WWE would secure the footage of his appearence on Larry King if they didn't expect him to be involved. Flair needs to stay retired. He had his big final match last year and for once I'd like to see that honored. While Jericho and Flair would be fun, it would be better for it not to happen. Maybe have Flair train Rourke but please don't have him get in the ring again.

Flair needs to just stay retired, I mean seriously what kind of shape is he gonna be in anyway, he looked like shit before he retired and now he's been away from the ring for a year now, there is no way a guy his age can get back into good enough shape to put on a decent match at WM, personally, with the way Jericho mentioned the HOF, I'm hoping Austin ends up getting involved, there have been rumors of Austin possiable having a match at WM for months now and I think this would be a great match, they could have Rourke in Austins corner and even work Flair into it by making him the Special Guest Ref or something, I mean seriously is there anyone here that wouldn't want to see Stone Cold vs. Jericho at WM?!?, it's prolly just wishful thinking on my part, but it'd be pretty epic IMO

While I respect the positive feelings you have towards a Jericho/Flair match at WM 25, I hope that this does not happen. Hopefully, Flair is done for good in the ring. He will be 60 years old this year, and, unless he plans on going the Terry Funk route (coming out of retirement to get thrown on explosives and barbwire), I think he should stick to making money through shoot interviews, promotional appearances, and autograph signings.

If anything, I still think Mickey Rourke will face Jericho at WM 25. McMahon is probably offering Rourke a big payday (which he probably needs more than Flair...he had some tough financial times that I am not sure he has completely recovered from) and WWE's PR team and Rourke's publicist probably just let the cat out of the bag too early. I think this is just a swerve so that Rourke's chances at winning the Oscar aren't totally blown. After the Oscars, with the statue or not, Rourke will announce that he will come to face Jericho at WM 25.

Flair got injured doing a independant match, so he's out of action for the short term.
Personally i don't want to see him return 1 yr after he lost a retirement match on the same stage, that makes no sense.

Jericho same with HBK are way too talented to carry Flair's old ass. they should battle people of there equal ability on the Grandest Stage of the All. now if ya say Flair had a phenomenal match against HBK, thats was cause of 3 things, HBK/the commentary/the storyline that lead to it.

Flair stay in your independant promotions and or stay back stage and teach the kids the ropes of a veteran. Don't get back in a WWE ring its just too sad to watch.

now i don't really wanna see Mickey Rourke wrestle either. as Jericho said it's one thing to pretend to be a wrestler it's another to actually compete in the ring.

Where does that leave Jericho? well he has a few options
1) He can always compete in the MITB he's good at that.
2) if Christian was returning by then he could be involved in some way given they were joined at the hip prior to Christian quiting.
3) If HBK vs Taker is gonna happen he could either interrupt that or make it a 3 way elimination match where the losers retire and he wins, then he can go and say not only did he beat the Rock and Austin in a single night to be the 1st ever undisputed champ, but he also retired HBK and killed Undertakers Mania streak in a single match..

ok that last one is highly unlikely.

So Flair is back in WWE after realising that he wasn't as popular as he thought he was. He left his WWE contract in the summer because he thought he could make more money on the independant scene than he could as an an ambassador for WWE. Turns out he was wrong, he failed miserably. Now he's back in WWE to make some money. Well I guess having a match might well make him a mint.

If it happens, which I don't think it will, it'll be pointless. Are people supposed to care about Flair as much this year as they did last? His retirement angle was about as touching as wrestling can get without somebody dying. So he'll return now, a year later, lose or win, cry and people will say so what.

Jericho also isn't nowhere near as good as getting quality matches out of poor workers as Shawn Michaels is.

Lets prey that this match does not happen. Hopefully he will just have his gimmick with Mickey, maybe have Flair in his corner but thats all that we need from flair. I mean if Flair gets in the ring then that pretty much means millions of fans cried for nothing when he retired

WOOOOOO Ric Flair is a must at the 25th Anniversary of the Greatest event in wrestling history. I indeed hope he wrestles. If its Jericho the promos willl be off the hook. How about Flair vs. Hogan? This would be perfect! I would love to see these 2 go at it 1 more time. It would give Wrestlemania the nostalgic match i believe it needs because its the 25th anniversary. What do ya think? yes yes i know hogan is a huge long shot!

Ok ladies, and Gentlemen this is my first post but im glad its on this topic lets break this down real quick...

Ric Flair Vs. Chris Jericho WrestleMania 25 Match- percentage of this happening-30%
why?

Flair has been out of action for more than a year when WrestleMania rolls around, and there will be no way they would take away from that emotional send off they had with WM24 and HBK, and then Raw the next night.. Also Flair is hurt, and has been saying something unkind things about WWE Wrestlers(not like they or Vince Cares because its all about the name of Ric Flair at WM) BUT... Vince does have an ego, and one that after Flair told dozen of media outlets, and wrestling websites he would 100% be at WM this year, I think Vince will have a vendetta against Flair here. I think it ends up being Rourke w/Flair Vs. Jericho as someone previously posted, Flair will train Rourke and end up beating Jericho at WrestleMania with a little help from the Nature Boy himself...

Now...does Flair induct Austin I would say yes either him, or Bret "Hitman" Hart, or Vince Himself, but the WWE & Bret were not eye to eye on his book release but they agreed to let him do whatever he pleases because a) hes not on WWE contract, and b) Bret did a DVD for them.

My Prediction will be Vince or Flair inducts Austin....

Finally... Does Austin Fight at WrestleMania...I would say 90% percent yes only because he has been out of the ring since 2003 and should be healed. Despite all the rumors JR saying hes done 100%. JR Is a WWE Employee and would not spill the beans. I think Austin will get overwhelmed at the 2009 HOF, and he will have a match...now with who?
Ill let you guys decide and then ill post another response to your predictions of Austin Vs. who at WM25 i got 2 in mind lets see if we agree..

Drew

It has already been confirmed that there will not be a Rourke/Jericho match a WM 25.But the Stone Cold/ Jericho match would be possible. And another possibility is the Ric Flair could be the special referee for that match. That would be a match I would like to see.

who was it confirmed by Rourke's People come on!!! lol just like the WWE said that John Cena would miss WrestleMania 24, and would not be back till Judgment Day dont believe everything you read or hear...Vince is smarter than that! Rourke, was more than likely bashed by Vince because he needs to develop a storyline before Rourke accepts, which is why Flair is coming back Monday Night, and Rourke will most likely do something at NWO..this match will happen trust me.. id love to see Austin/Jericho but the WWE Had that while Austin was active if Austin comes back he will fight either someone like HBK who yes we have seen already before but for a brief time....but if the WWE Could get those two together would be stellar because HBK gets the best out of anyone on a big stage, Hogan(SS), Flair(WM24), .... but ill wait for ppls predictions

I am hoping to see Christian appear at WM25, and i hope him and my all time fave, Chris Jericho will get started with a rivalry, i plan too see Christian to interfere in any match Jericho has, hopefully against Stone Cold, Ric Flair, or Mickey Rourke, or even in the Money in the Bank ladder match

Christian will appear at WrestleMania in some sort of fashion but i would go with the whole Matt/Jeff/Edge Storyline than Jericho but...if Christian does end up on RAW Jericho would most likely be his target

My major concern with Jericho is that he's going to wind up being completely misused at WrestleMania, and through no fault or his own or of the booking team. Right now, Jericho is aligning himself against absolute question marks. Hollywood actors are fickle based off of what their PR and image consultants tell them. If Rourke is convinced that appearing at WrestleMania will cause him to be typcast or derail the big comeback, then he's not only not gonna wrestle, but he won't even show up.

side note - Lawrence Taylor "wasn't going to wrestle" against Bam Bam Bigelow at first...

What about Flair? He's a HUGE question mark. I firmly believe that he'll show up at the event, and he'll be part of the Hall of Fame ceremony, but as far as the event itself? Perhaps...

So what does the booking team have to do? They need time to create steam if Jericho is to have one of those big Wrestlemania feuds, so they are taking time and spending money promoting Jericho's issues with Flair and Rourke. If both guys back out, I fear that Jericho's anti-legend status will land him in a boring, anti-climactic gauntlet match against Snuka, Duggan, etc. I don't want to see that.

Jericho / Flair makes perfect sense, though.

stone cold would fit nice into this fight but against who?
Well Y2J would be nice but as for legend...seriously anybody. Austin is simply my all time favorite...would love to see him wrestle again. But Hogan did say Austin is not in shape...so I don`t have high hopes.

i honestly dont think i would care for this match at all we already seen HBK vs Flair last Wrestlemania jericho vs Flair will look decent at best compared to last years match Flair should just Stay retired, Jericho should fight Stone cold steve ausitin. just my opinion.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Ric Flair, Ric Fucking Flair. Son of a bitch just fucking go away. My god, the guy is terrible. Ric Flair used to be good, about 20 years ago.

Chris Jericho couldn't get a good match at the 2nd biggest pay per view of the year in 2002, why on earth does anyone remotely think that Chris Jericho, despite how much he has improved, could get a good match out of Ric Flair seven years later. Shawn Michaels couldn't even get a goo dmatch out of Flair at last years Wrestlemania. Ric Flair was an active wrestler, and still sucked it up in the ring on the biggest stage of them all, now with a year off there is potential for him to have a match, god. This match, if it happens, is enough to not make me purchase the pay per view alone, or demand a prorated portion of my fee back.

Mickey Rourke is a much better option, hell, at least he's done something remotely good for the business the last 15 years, you can't say that about Ric Flair. If Floyd Mayweather can put on a better match then Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 24, then certainly a competent guy like rourke would be a much better fit then a Flair for the Olde.

I hope Flair stays retired.

Its sad, but it seems, retired or not, the only way wrestlers ever stay away is when they die...

I don't want him to die, I just want Ric Flair to be the exception to that rule.

Hogan. Not coming. Stone Cold. Not coming. Rourke. Not coming. And know, Flair. Not coming. He hasn't been even gone for 1 year. Hell, he's not even under contract any more. There is little to no chance he will be at WM XXV. But then when you look at it through the other side, You think, There not gonna put him on Raw right now and just have him fade away. You think, How in the heck will he get out of this know? He wont just go on screen next week and bet the crap out of Jericho. And I hope to god Jericho doesn't start a rant were he thinks he is getting heat but it is just a sucking promo. There is no room on Raw for a 63 year old man. Sorry.

So I am just gonna roll with this....being a 16 year fan maybe even a "smark"...who knows. But after hearing that Flair will be appearing on Raw this coming Monday Night...I believe this.

-Ric Flair will come back and plant the seed for the match at WM...but given that Flair has retired, he will stay true to his word and inform Jericho that he will be fighting a "mystery opponent" at WM.

-After weeks of build up....when the lights come up at WM, Jericho's opponent will be none other than Randy "The Ram" Robinson!!!!

Effectively letting Vince feel like he has yet again "gotten one over" one us fans.

It's not only stupid if Ric Flair wrestles at Wrestlemania 25, it's wrong.

Ric Flair, ended his career, in overwhelming fashion at last years Wrestlemania, the greatest and most honoured retirement WWE has given anyone, especially the night after on RAW.

How depserate is WWE if they bring Flair back after that? Or alternatively perhaps Flair is the desperate one? It's not like we haven't seen Flair/Jericho before. I can see Flair being involved most definitely, perhaps as a referee or a manager for Jericho's opponent.

What would be good, is to create a new babyface, that Flair comes back to endorse a younger talent, who fights for the respect of the legends. It could be a real oppotunity to put over a young superstar, have him mentored by Flair for a month or so, bring other Legends in to the mix, have a big celebration/beat down on Jericho at Wrestlemania depending on who wins. Perhaps CM Punk? I Don't know, I don't think anyone else is at the level needed to make this a good storyline, that isn't a heel. Or this could be a good oppotunity for a SD superstar to come to RAW, or their could be a Smackdown vs RAW match. Options;
MVP (unlikely), Mr Kennedy (wheres' he disappeared too?) No one else would make much sense, not that either of them do really.

Another very unlikely option, would be for the debut of Reid Flair? Last I heard his was injured but is it so out the question that his injury is a work? I don't know.

Whatever happens, PLEASE DON'T HAVE FLAIR WRESTLE! - It goes against all that WWE did last year, with the whole angle, the whole retirement match the classic "I love you" quote from Shawn Michaels, it all DIES if Flair steps back in the ring.
Don't turn Flair into Foley, it just doesn't work.

I see this whole situation as an attempt at a swerve...and a poor one at that.
Do I think Flair will be involved in WM? Sort
Do I think he will wrestle? No

Flair rode off into the sun last year like no one I've ever seen. The Hall of Fame ceremony, the match itself, and the celebration of his career the night after on Raw were epic and there aren't many that are deserving of giving that to. Why on earth would you even contemplate returning after that? It would be like a spit in the face to everyone.
No, I think this is a way to set up the Rourke angle better. He has some training already, and I think with Jericho disrespecting Flair, that will put him in a managerial role with Rourke. He can train him for a couple months and Rourke can actually put on a wrestling match..maybe even a decent one against Jericho. This is by far the best option for having Flair and Rourke involved imo and could lead to some great build and possibly the best celebrity appearance at Mania yet.
I know his publicist and he himself are saying he won't be there, but this wouldn't be the first time that happened and the celebrity was there anyway, so I think it is still entirely possible that we will not only see Rourke at WM, but see him wrestling against Jericho.

Why can't this guy just stay away, he should have never come back to the WWE the last time...he's good for absolutely nothing, he just takes up tv time that younger guys who actually work for it should be getting...here it is for next week...he comes out, the fans chant his name for 2 minutes while he cries, he talks about his "retirement" and then what Jericho said, then Jericho comes out and blah blah blah...Jericho is way too talented to waste on him...and that's 8 - 10 minutes wasted just for Flair

I think Ric Flair will be inducting Ricky Steamboat this yr not Steve Austin ofcourse thats still not 100% confirmed?

I still stand by my comment that Ric Flair should stay retired from performing in the ring and shut his mouth while he's at it.

That time could be much better spent on randy orton and the latest mcmahon blah blah blah. NOBODY wants to see a legend.

I'm disappointed, I thought Flair had gotten his soul back from the wwe devil.
