Jurassic Park 4: Starring Chris Jericho

This is truly a shame to Chris. He's the second best heel on raw, and this is what he gets? A crappy match with three past their prime hall of famers with a guy who won't wrestle in thier corner? Boring. It'll suck, and him losing will suck even more.

Please fan's start an "Austin chant" tonight during the jericho segment! Vince fucked up... Even the king or why not sid vicious? or RVD one time appearance... Come on man get your head out of your ass. His ego gets the best of him sometime... Same shit regarding Macho Man. Remember, AUSTIN CHANT TONIGHT!!!!

Well, whoever renamed this thread is freaking awesome, and couldn't describe it anymore accurately. How in the hell did this happen to Chris Jericho? How does the guy go from World Champion, to this in the matter of months. Yes, I know the WWE was looking for Rourke to take the pay day and bite on it, and to me, that would have been phenomenal and we're talking about something great then.

Instead, Chris Jericho goes to the retirement home and fights potentially five guys in one match. Now the idea that Jericho has to beat each and every person in this match is intriguing. I really think that it's going to be a short night for both Snuka and Piper. Snuka is damn near immobile, and Piper, well, he's Piper.

I'm hoping that The Dragon still has it in him. The Dragon is the only old timer that doesn't look like he needs a crane to straighten his back out when he stands up. If Ricky Steamboat is in halfway decent shape, then i think him and jericho could be fantastic. Hell, if people are calling Ric Flair's match last year at Mania Match of the Year, then surely Steamboat and Jericho could be match of the decade.

So in the end, Rourke will get involved and cost Jericho the match, with the Old Guys winning.

Well, whoever renamed this thread is freaking awesome,

*takes a bow*

anyway. Well ive already ranted and raved about this match, and not much else to say. I will be infuriated if they have jericho lose, or even make the legends look competitive. I feel so so badlt for Jericho here. As I said, and will continue to say, only an Austin appearance/Stunner will salvage anything here. Goodness this is such an atrocity.

NorCal prediciton : The Legends.

Even Mickey Rourke won`t save that one. They could probably make it even worse. Austin can be make a decent finish to that but he is so far from this really... storyline wise. However, I don`t think Jericho loosing can even be an option...I mean come ON!

Apparently, it will be the opener, poor Jericho. :(

Almost every year, the WWE likes to involved some sorta Celebrity involvement at Wrestlemania. Last year was Floyd Mayweather, year before was Donald Trump.

Now there were many plans that were made that then became this s**thole of a match we have

-Chris Jericho Vs. Ric Flair was the first option, but Flair declined
-Chris Jericho Vs Austin was the second, but because of injuries, Austin declined
-Chris Jericho Vs Hogan was a option, however Hogan's legal wues, and injuries prevented it from happening
-Chris Jericho Vs Lawler even was a possiblity, but Lawler didnt fit criteria.
-Chris Jericho Vs Mickey Rourke was the biggest possible choice but Rourke's agent didnt want to risk his client injury in a real match, but was ok with him being there.
Jericho match at wrestlemania is not the fault of himself or the WWE, the people who made aggrements that they could do it are at fault. I know Austin is hurt, but he was at Cyber Sunday and did 2 stunner. Rourke said at first he would love to do a match with Jericho. So that could be Jericho Vs Rouke w/ Austin as tha special referee. Not this Shithole of a match we have here. I would have enjoyed Lawler Vs Y2J more than this. I kno i would complain about it, but i wouldnt sujest this shit. I wouldnt be this mad about it if the Wrestlemania was a sure solid 5/5. But the fact is that it is not. JBL didnt need to be in the PPV in tha first place. CM Punk Vs. Rey would have been a solid mid-card match(even tho i dont lyk Punk). The MITB is looking to be the worst one of the ones they've had. Cena, Slow, Edge is ok, I guess, but a lil predictable. HHH, RKO will be the best match wit build-up. And HBK Vs Undertaker will be tha best, even tho the buildup has been Shawn saying he's not afraid, doing a promo, and Undertaker attacking him, Shawn escapes, and Superkicks em. I though Mayweather Vs Big Slow was pretty bad, but this is just terrible. I hope something (kayfabe) happens to those three oldshits that they cant participate in tha match, Austin comes out and stunners tha s*t outta him and we move on to our other matches.

I was just wondering what type of wrestling ability that you think these stars will have, as they are getting up there in age. All three of them haven't wrestled regularily in years and for them to start back up at wrestlemania could be sketchy.

Roddy Piper is 54
Steamboat is 56
Snuka is 65

So my question is what type of wrestling ability do you think each legend will have and how realistic will the match look?

I think all three legends will have a bit of decent offense on Jericho. All of them want to show that they haven't lost a lot of their steps. It will be Jericho's job to allow that to happen and try to sell the legend's offense. I expect Snuka to go to the top rope and attempt a ''Superfly Splash'' only to miss, probably and maybe Flair might even get a few shots in. The fact that all of them haven't wrestled in a while keeps you wondering how they will fair in a match.

The worst of the batch will definitely be Jimmy Snuka. I actually saw him at an Indy show around 3 or 4 years ago, and he was absolutely awful. The guy could barely walk. I am simply amazed that they booked him for this. Maybe they didn't truly know how bad off the guy was. That's Johnny Ace for ya.

I would bank on Snuka doing the spot where he throws the wrestler (jericho in this case) against the ropes, and does the dreaded chop, which Jericho will have to sell like he is dead for. Snuka will be eliminated first.

Piper will be next. Piper was as big as a beached whale the last time we saw him in the ring, and looking at him on Raw, he didn't really look any better. He'll get some punches and kicks in, but I'm guessing Jericho will also pin him.

So I predict it will come down to Steamboat and Jericho. Steamboat is definitely in the best condition of the three legends in this match.

My guess is that Flair will do something to distract Jericho, and Steamboat will pin him. Rourke gets invited into the ring. Jericho berates Rourke, then Rourke decks Jericho.

But I definitely see the Legends getting the victory in this one.

Steamboat is going to have to carry this for the legends side. I was hoping he would be involved in an angle for awhile now and i'm unhappy it had to be this one. He seems to be in good shape and him and jericho should have some good interactions

This match wasn't supposed to happen, but somehow it has. Jericho vs Rourke didn't work out, neither did Jericho vs Hogan. Until about a week ago, I still felt in my heart of hearts that the current set up was a ruse and we'd get Jericho v Austin., but, alas, we instead have to endure this. I reckon what will probably happen is Jericho beats Piper and Snuka early on, and is trying to decimate Steamboat, when Rourke or Austin, comes in, makes the save and the Legends pick up the win. This match will be an absolute abortion and I can't see the old timers being able to go for much longer than 10 minutes.

My Prediction

Chris Jericho v Legends - Is harsh on Jericho but I can only see one (well, three) winners here and that is the Legends team. Jericho will make either Snuka or Piper tap out to the Walls of Jericho, will pin the other with a Codebreaker but will lose Steamboat after a distraction. Rourke will hit him after the match.

Hopefully the match is short, but the aftermath has something we don't expect... like a Rattlesnake.

Legends beat Jericho - Unfortunately, Jericho gets rewarded with jobbing to has beens at the biggest stage of them all. Expect Rourke, Flair, and Austin to get involved physically. Even if Jericho wins using some dastardly means, he will still get beat down by the all the aforementioned legends leading to the parasite fans having their Wrestlemania moment.

I don't know about you, but I thought for sure they were going to bury my favorite wrestler, Chris Jericho, and to make it worse, it was going to happen at the hands of 3 old dudes who didn't have much left in the tank. I expected this to be the second worst match of the night, after the divas match. I'm calling it early, but I was wrong.

Snuka didn't impress me at all, and Piper had his moments, but wasn't overly impressive either. Ricky The Dragon Steamboat on the other hand, put on the best show out of everyone in that entire match. He looked AMAZING. He hit some great spots, and even though I'm a Jericho fan, I found myself genuinely rooting for him, and genuinely disappointed when Jericho pinned him.

I thought, though, if the WWE was going to make Jericho win, they did it right. He pinned the first two with little trouble, and then struggled against a tough Steamboat. After that, Ric Flair tried to do whatever he could, but Jericho beat him down too. That was good. Then... Mickey Rourke steps into the ring. Jericho, who just handily beat down four legends, immediately falls to a single punch to the head.

I just wanted to make a thread to open a conversation about the match. I thought it was so close to being as perfect a match as it could be If the ended it without the whole Rourke thing, it would have been great, but that just made it eh. I mean, the match was good, but the ending was lame.

I want to echo the sentiments of Jglass. But I am not a Jericho fan like he is. Steamboat was freaking amazing!!! Ok, he's old and retired, but the guy went off the top rope how many times in that match??? Like 5??? And he didn't just kind of fall off the rope and get caught by Jericho... he went off the top rope!!! Yeah, he had a little ring rust on him, but dude, he's been retired for how long?? He looked better than some people half his age with current full time deals!! Steamboat was one of the highlights of the show for me!!! He put on one of the best matches of all time against Savage long, long ago. Then, tonight, he gets into the ring and pulls off a performance like that at his age after so many years away from the ring?!?!? WOW!!!! What a LEGEND!!! He looked better tonight than Flair did in the last 10 years!

Steamboat....holy crap!!! Come back and work a full time schedule!!!

I was really disappointed that Austin or Hogan weren't involved in this storyline. Nonetheless, the match wasn't that bad, only because Steamboat is still amazing. He hasn't wrestled in like 15 years or so and he is well over 50 years old yet he was more entertaining than the Triple H/Orton match.

I'm glad that they let Jericho win but that Mickey Rourke ending just made Jericho and the legends look bad. WWE Hall of Famers couldn't take Jericho but some movie star could punch him out? Stupid if you ask me.

I was really surprised with this one. In some ways positively, in others negatively. For one, Jimmy Snuka looked really old. And I mean, really old. And could barely move. Bad choice to put him in that match, I guess they could've found someone more suitable... Piper looked ok, considering his health isn't as great anymore... but his style thankfully didn't require him to do much more than threw a few jabs and punches and put Jericho in the sleeper.

But then... RICKY F'N STEAMBOAT!!!

What the hell?? This guy is 56 years old, and did you see how fast he was on up on those turnbuckles, and how high he jumped off? Hell, he did even go for a plancha to the outside. Most of the moves he threw also still looked pretty crisp, and he was still moving about quite quickly. Of course, as the match progressed you could tell his constitution wasn't that of a 25 year-old anymore, but he still put on a really interesting match with Jericho - surprisingly (and for the current roster, sadly) one of the better pure "wrestling" contests of the entire event.

I agree with Rourke's performance being a bit forced... First, it took him way too long to finally get into the ring... and yeah, they really shouldn't have Jericho get KOed, despite Rourke's boxing background (which not everyone in the arena/watching will have known about). Might've been a better move if Jericho had been beating down on Flair, and Rourke had just jumped the rail, nailed Y2J, and Jericho, caught by surprise, just rolls out of the ring and runs off to the back instead of getting knocked down by a non-wrestler. Same problem we've had with Shane McMahon taking out Legacy.

But kudos to Y2J and Steamboat anyway!

absolutely would have been better if it was Jericho vs Steamboat one on one.

Rourke's spot was defintely forced would have been better to screw jericho out of the win I think.

Flair served no purpose other than to get the shit kicked out of him the last couple of weeks

Thank god for Steamboat what a weekend for this guy , amazing !!!

I think they probably threw Piper and Snuka into this match because they just didn't know what to expect from any of them. How could anyone know Steamboat was going to put on a performance like that?? If they had known, Piper and Snuka probably would have just been watching at home on PPV.

HBK Undertake was the best match of the night, but Steamboat/Jericho was a close second for me! I wouldn't be surprised, with the all the positive reaction Steamboat has been getting, if WWE tried to work something out with him...maybe extending the feud to one more PPV match?

I'll break this down, legend by legend, and then give a review of the match, and following segment as a whole.

Jimmy Snuka. WTF? I can't really say much more. He was in horrible shape, and was a waste of time.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper was in better shape than a lot of his most recent appearances, and did OK for his time in the ring. His "dropkick" kind of killed any momentum he had though. Jericho and him worked together well.

I was totally surprised by Steamboat's performance. He was in better shape than I thought, and moved around the ring better than just about anyone expected. His promo with Jericho a few weeks back was an instant classic, and this followed it up well. I almost thought he would pull it off.

The match as a whole was very jerky. Snuka's time in the ring was a waste, and Piper wasn't anywhere near what I was hoping for. Steamboat and Jericho was easily the best, and made the match as a whole seem worthy of the TV time.

The segment with Rourke was good, but went on way too long. Instead of Jericho calling him out, he should've just gotten up, charged into the ring, and went punch for punch with Jericho for a minute or so.

NSL Grade: C-

This match was another that I was not looking forward to at all. Jericho was gaining so much momentum with his character and everyone was eating out of the palm of his hands. But when he announced his 3 on 1, I think everyone cringed, and then proceeded to hit their head off of a wall....HARD.

Thankfully A man, nah, a legend stepped up to the plate.

It it wasn't for Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat this match would have been a flop.

Granted, I'm also well aware that in order for Steamboat to shine in the way that he did, he also needed Jericho to preform with him. and Thankfully Jericho is such a talented man (all-around) that he was gifted enough to allow Steamboat to amaze fans.

I have never seen Steamboat in his prime. I always hear Savage vs Steamboat but have yet to see. If Steamboat was as good as he was at WM25 being x years old, and being in retirement for x years. I cant wait to see him in his younger days.

Jericho VS 3 Dinosaurs....

The first two dinosaurs were eliminated quickly, and like everyone and their dog has already pointed out.... Steamboat did better than they thought he would. This match still felt a bit dissappointing, because they could easily have written Stone Cold's bit with the 4 wheeler and drinking, into the end of this match. Have Jericho beat all 3 dinosaurs, flair, then keep the rourke part the way it was only FASTER and then add Stone Cold's part. It would have made sense here, as he is a legend too.

I'm glad this match wasn't as bad as EVERYONE seemed to think it would be though. It was.... alright.

I second that. Austin comes down with the four wheeler, stunner to Jericho as he gets up for the punch. Then Drink Drink Drink.

And then for the hall of fame portion of the show, just have everyone come out. Pause. Cue glass shattering. Enter Austin in tux who just stands in the star.

But in order for that to work, the match would have had to been moved to later on in the card I think.

Actually. What if the Hall of Fame thing was AFTER the Jericho Match? That might have worked. It would've been a quick change for Steamboat and Austin. But doable.

Dude holsy shit Ricky steamboat. probably the biggest mark out for me of the night. he was amazing. Also highly enjoyed clearly hearing Roddy Piper saying "come on ya peice of shit" and "you little motherfucker". Snuka was absolutely embarassing.

This actually went a lot better than I figured it would. Rourke took way too fucking long. and the SCSA segment from later in the night couldve well happened moments after he stunned Jericho.

He beats the shit out of Flair, says "Rourke your a fake tough guy, im a real tough guy"

*glass shatters*

Out comes Austin, black trunks, boots and vest. Like 8 fucking knee braces on both knees. Stands at the top of the ramp and just stares him down. Struts in, punches, mudhole stomp, double bird, then stunner. Beer bash and hilarity for 5 minutes, bye bye Austin.

Im waiting on my phone call WWE. You can hire me any time, this shit isnt really that difficult to me.

Decent for what it was. 6/10
