What are your thoughts the promos shown at Royal Rumble for John Cena and The Rock? Which do you think was better?

Personally, I gained a little more respect for Cena although I'm no fan of his, it was a great promo. Roll on Wrestlemania!

I don't know if it's because I'm viewing the page on an iPad or not but the videos are broken to me.... Anyway I wasn't a big fan of either of them to be honest. Cena's was marginally better but the Rock v Cena is going to take up tons of TV time from after Elimination Chamber - these promos just took away time from what felt like a rushed Royal Rumble match

Don't paste in the full address. Only the sequence of numbers and letters after v=

I enjoyed Cena's video package more but that is due to the fact that they had stronger material to work with.

Cena's package tells the deep story of "rise above hate" and just be yourself. The music and clips of both sides of his haters and supporters just created a magnificent atmosphere for me when I first saw Sunday night. In all honesty it's the truth about Cena and his character that is exploited in the video, his background and his journey through the hearts of the WWE universe whether they love him or hate him. The Wrestlemania song I think was specifically chosen for Cena and his role going in to the match. I't pretty epic to me, I know that it isn't the first time Cena's fans and haters have been addressed but this is the occasion on which it was done on an even better scale than previous times.

Rock's on the other hand was just, Rock being a movie star and showing what he does. There wasn't really anything all to interesting (excluding the part where he talks about his grandfather). There is no conflict material that the production crew had to work with since he is universally loved, and even that isn't shown to it's fullest extent. It felt more run off the mill to me especially when they were promoting Journey 2 (all though the peck pop was hilarious). Conflict and Cena's reaction to it is what made his video package, Rock's is just smiley giggles and promotional tactics most of the time.

Two nausiating fucking human beings.

The Rock character acts like a rapidly aging adolescent and Cena's acts like he belongs playing the lead role on an ABC After School Special (remember those?).

I could give a shit less about that match. The reason is, I did not need a year of hearing about it. That was really fucking stupid and anti-climactic.

I dont like the way WWE is approaching this feud. These are good to have on like a DVD Documentary but not for selling a WWE rivalry/feud. WWE spends way too much time focusing on Rock outside of the WWE, when he has just as good of a history inside of it. Its almost as if they want people to look at The Rock this way. It would be much better to hype these two men up from strictly within.Show some things and talk about the hard work he did in WWE as The Rock. Do the same for Cena as well, as I am tired of the Cena works for kids, hes a great guy type video packages. I dont have a problem with these two men and I can proudly say I look forward to this bout, but I just want WWE to hype it up a better way. Focus on their WWE history, the matches, the promos. Im telling you, the hype for this feud would be 100% better.

I think the two videos were both very well done. I am not a fan of John Cena, but his video was just bloody awesome. I think that The Rock's one would have been better had they had more of his past shown but it was still good as that is what he is now.
Both songs fit the videos very well, but I think Cena's edges it (hope that doesnt happen at Mania)

I like these but there is no way that they should do what they did last year and have two seperate video packages instead of one actual promo. It worked last yeat because there was no way in hell they could make an decent promo for Cena/miz because they spent half of the time building Rock/Cena. But this deserves better. This is bigger than Rock/Hogan, this is bigger than HBK/Taker. This may be the last Icon vs Icon.

The dude who claimed Cena is a "phony" is either heck jealous or just plain stupid. Anyway, yeah, Cena had the edge in the promos. I take this all to mean something to me: Cena is NEVER going heel again. Or if he does, it will be a LONG time be4 he does. Just look at the way the promo is set up. The only thing that remotely clues me into a heel turn right now is the fact that he is relentless on Kane.
