Joey Ryan shoots on TNA Gut Check

Speaking of Gutcheck, we may not have seen the last of Joey Ryan. His Gutcheck segment with Taz last week got good reviews and caught most everyone off guard. Ryan posted the following video this week:

If TNA is smart they'll do something with this.... this promo was excellent!

I honestly like his gimmick. IT WORKS. He looks like a 70's porn actor who just came off a 3 day cocaine binge and just doesn't give a crap about anything. He is fresh and a nice relief from the monsters and supermen that are out there now. He would make a great midcard heel in my opinion.

He's got passion, he's got balls, he can talk, he can wrestle, he's got a look, he's got a gimmick. He's probably killed his ties with TNA now, but someone should pick this guy up. Hell I'm gonna help him trend, might as well see where it goes.

Yup, this pretty much covers it.

Just look at his match with A Double, he was allowed just as much offence as Chris Sabin received last week. Contrast that with the first Gut Check guy, Alex Silva, who was allowed very little against Robbie E.

If I was to make a guess, I would look at this as TNA trying to recreate Zack Ryder's approach which makes sense to me because it reduces the TV time it might otherwise need to try to get him over. This doesn't require Ryan to appear in ring, all it requires is Tenay to show Taz part of this to garner his response.

The only reason I don't is because of the lack of faith I have in either WWE or TNA to do something like this successfully. I await to be pleasantly surprised though.

If it is an angle, he knows what buttons to push. I still get to watch him every week on NWA anyway, whether he signs with TNA, I could care less.
