Jericho said it...But I said it first

Twiztid Rodimus

Pre-Show Stalwart
I remember getting reamed out by the so called ''Smart'' fans of this site, that bashed me for stating the obvious rip off of Jerichos character in the miz.

Oh, every one LOVED making it seem like I was ''Blind'' and didnt really know Jericho for saying that...well...

Chris Jericho:You can’t do both. I’m sure I’ll be back. I have to return to WWE to take my persona back. I watched Raw on Monday and felt like I was having an out of body experience. I was watching myself on live TV! Then I realized I hadn’t gotten that ugly and become that bad of a wrestler and realized I was actually watching the current WWE Champion, The Miz.

Im glad that this was pointed out by the man himself, since it was blunt and very very obvious, but I assume most will deny they bashed me, Since thats how the net is, Now that Jericho said it, everyone will agree, But I made a thread MONTHS ago about this. Just wanted to point this out

HAHA thats awesome, i noticed that as well but i never made a thread about it, at least now you can say that you and y2j are on the same page

Indeed, I just don't understand that when most give opinions on this site sometimes, people feel the need to judge, and gang up on people that dont have 20,000000 posts, Im sorry, I have other forums, and stuff to do ya know :wtf:

But Im glad that others agree. And I don't need people to completely agree, but if they disagree, do it maturely, and thats rare on this site, most of the time.

I understand what your saying, your right, but in this particular situation, you have to kinda understand why ppl got mad, their are a lot and i mean A LOT of miz marks on the online wrestling community forums now, so they get ticked as soon as someone says anything not 100% positive about miz, which is understandable as i am guilty of the same thing for other wrestlers, but it doesnt mean they should do it so you are def right about that

I agree with you, to an extent, but I noticed this as well, and looked at it from another angle. Jericho is a legend. Jericho is also absent from the arena at the moment. Jericho's influence on the Miz was quite obvious, but I look at it for what it is. I guess it depends on perception, whether to call something a rip off or to call it channeling an influence, paying homage, downright imitation. I called it taking influence because I also see the Rock's influence in Miz's mic syle. Jericho is more obvious because of look and size, and of course being the up and comer, the underrated on in his feuds.
I liked Jericho's comments and said before that I'd like to see a program between the two, either fighting eachother, or being allies, having Jericho humble Miz and perhaps even take on a guidance role... similar to Flair for Triple H, or Backlund for Angle, or UnderTaker for the Big Show.
Though I like the Miz's use of Jericho's influence, I can see how Jericho would feel that he should reclaim it, since he's not retired yet and likes the attention of being No. 1... and Number one he will always be.

I kinda saw the resemblence. Jericho is a egomaniac who loves to beat down his opponents mentally and physically and usually avoids confrontation. I also like how Jericho's old finisher is being used now by the MIZ. I like Miz though and I think he is winning the 3 way feud with the Rock and Cena. I marked out when he did the people's elbow and it was a good move. The Miz is proving with this feud that he belongs in the main event. Kinda like what Jericho did in 2001-2002 when he was the undisputed champion.

While you both might have said it, there's still a solid difference.

You said it because you believe it. Jericho said it because it's a solid story line for when Jericho comes back.

Jericho is someone that likes to come back with a purpose and some angle in place. Feuding with one of the top guys makes sense. While they do have similarities, they are still very different.

Jericho is a better wrestler, yes. But aside from that, in terms of characteristics, Jericho is a talker with a broader vocabulary. The Miz is more of a trendy guy. Jericho has a quicker temper. The Miz wants to make it seem like he's rarely bothered. Jericho plays on the fact that he's been held down and people know he's worked for his spot. The Miz acts like he's been played down, but has still been given an easier road. Jericho doesn't use much catchphrases anymore. The Miz does.

I could think of a few more, but I think you get the point. Sure, they have plenty in common. Smart guys that are undersized and they use cunning to get victories. So on and so forth. The problem is that a lot of wrestlers can have similarities.

Jericho was just hyping his return. Quite well and in a witty style, I might add.
