I'm a 2nd generation ND fan and have been a fan since 1994ish. What do you think about the Floyd situation?

I remember watching their last national championship on TV. I don't actually remember the game, but I do remember watching it with my dad, who is a huge Notre Dame fan. I remember the 1993 season where we got screwed so badly it was ridiculous, when Florida State got to play for a national title after we beat them. I remember the Bob Davie years, and thinking things couldn't get worse for Notre Dame. I remember realizing how wrong I was about that during the Willingham years. I saw in person the last game Charlie Weiss coached at Notre Dame stadium against BC.

As far as Floyd goes, there's not much of a situation. He messed up and is now going to be punished. It was an incredibly selfish thing to do, when it seems as if Kelly really got those guys playing well last year at the end of the year and with all the hope for next year. Hopefully Crist can be healthy and as good as he was supposed to be, we now have a backup who has proven he can perform in Rees.

I hope Floyd will be able to play, because Notre Dame could be awfully good next year.

The Floyd situation all runs on RESlife who has been very strict on issues like this such as the Mclarney arrest and the Yeatman DUI and they were expelled for one trimester. Another problem is that due to the negative publicity ND has been receiving (Sullivan and Seedberg) ND has more pressure to be strict. This is also Floyd's 3rd alcohol related arrest so it is more added pressure. I hope it is 3 games but it will likely be 4+ games. Hopefully Deion Walker and Daniel Smith can step up in his absence.
