James Storm & Abyss are the *NEW* TNA World Tag Team Champions

It's Damn Real!

From a purely kayfabe perspective, my only gripe here is the Feast or Fired case he used to cash in on this opportunity, which came out of nowhere. Not because he literally used it out of nowhere, per se, but more because the case itself was largely forgotten due to being essentially written out of the weekly IMPACT story. When he pulled it out, even I was utterly confused as to whether I had missed some episode, or some angle somewhere where he'd obtained it recently, only to be reminded that he won it almost a calendar year ago and simply never used it. Considering he hasn't exactly been parading it out to the ring every week, it's pretty easy to see why this was a little bit of rough road, story-telling wise.

From a behind-the-curtain perspective, as I understand it, the Wolves are only under contract to the end of this year, I believe, so TNA is simply positioning themselves where they won't have to explain a potentially sudden disappearance of a champion (again). The last time it happened, with Devon, it was only over the seldom-seen and barely passable Television Title (at the time), but it's still just something your creative team shouldn't have to play patch work around if you are actually paying attention to the details of your talent, and their contracts.

As to the Revolution themselves, I'm really digging all this. Titles included. They're a great heel stable that, for once, aren't out to conquer the "power" of TNA television. They have some other, not-yet-clear agenda, with a cryptic, Jesus-like version of Storm at the helm. The way I see it, anything that keeps James Storm on my television can only be a good thing.

Bringing the case from nowhere was a stroke of genius. It works perfectly with the dark master mind of James Storm. The Revolution is one of, if not, the best developments happening in professional wrestling. I would have liked to seen a more sinister look to this Abyss character.

Haven't watched all of last weeks episode. I'll have to wait for Sunday for this weeks to be shown over here but I can't say I'm all that impressed. I mean Abyss, REALLY. Is he still relevant in any way. His ring work has been declining year-on-year and his character has become boring and rather tedious. I'll suggest that the presence of Abyss will have a negative effect on Storm and his revolution.

Sure the stuff with Storm is interesting but throwing in Abyss just seems desperate. They have nothing for him so it just a random combination. I'll reiterate I've not seen this yet so I don't have the full picture would anyone be shocked if Abyss turns on Storm. Exciting times ahead for sure

@MCMG, you correct in a number of ways. Abyss returned just as we know him. What magical about Storm's Revolution is how he raises his followers. We have yet to see that with this new addition. Over Abyss maybe Knox should have joined. The dude is a great talent and could have taken his freak show act to the next level.

Ummm..... You forgot Samoa Joe, buddy. He vacated the title with a faux injury because of this too.

As for the Tag Titles, why didn't they go with Sanada and Manik who are both still under contract? I mean, they're supposed to be the subordinates to Storm. Why is Storm in another tag team? Does he have a fetish with that thing?

That's true, actually. I'm not sure why they didn't just go with them. Manik especially, who seems to be getting a bigger push than anyone else in the group. But I guess the whole thing was to get Abyss involved too (who I could obviously do without). Sanada and Manik is better than Storm & Abyss, only because of Abyss. I'd have been OK with Storm and Manik or Sanada. Whoever wasn't chosen should have been sent after the now vacant X Division title.

Ugh I liked the way they were going with the X-Divison wrestlers.

I feel like Crazy Steve could have worked, or hell Low Ki for something different.

Or if they really wanted to do a swerve (I know TNA loves that)

Have had Eddie Edwards be the one to turn on Davey Richards.

But hey who knows? Maybe the Abyss thing will work

Maybe they'll instate the free-bird rule which would allow anyone besides Storm to wrestle. Storm starting to tag team wrestle would not make any sense. A leader shouldn't be holding tag belts. I don't care for Abyss no more, actually never have but hey, Storm is awesome and I dig Manik too. I hope this will work as much as I hope TNA gets a fuckin' TV deal.

If this is going to build up Storm to being a credible threat to Roode for the World Title then I don't mind him carrying the tag-titles for a couple of months with maybe a controversial loss to The Wolves down the line.

If it turns out that this is another group failure by TNA then it's terrible booking. Sanada or Manik need to go for the X Division Title.

In a strange way it does make sense. Storm and Abyss are the only 2 wrestlers on the current roster who appeared at the first-ever TNA pay per view in June 2002. They have that special connection.
