From a purely kayfabe perspective, my only gripe here is the Feast or Fired case he used to cash in on this opportunity, which came out of nowhere. Not because he literally used it out of nowhere, per se, but more because the case itself was largely forgotten due to being essentially written out of the weekly IMPACT story. When he pulled it out, even I was utterly confused as to whether I had missed some episode, or some angle somewhere where he'd obtained it recently, only to be reminded that he won it almost a calendar year ago and simply never used it. Considering he hasn't exactly been parading it out to the ring every week, it's pretty easy to see why this was a little bit of rough road, story-telling wise.
From a behind-the-curtain perspective, as I understand it, the Wolves are only under contract to the end of this year, I believe, so TNA is simply positioning themselves where they won't have to explain a potentially sudden disappearance of a champion (again). The last time it happened, with Devon, it was only over the seldom-seen and barely passable Television Title (at the time), but it's still just something your creative team shouldn't have to play patch work around if you are actually paying attention to the details of your talent, and their contracts.
As to the Revolution themselves, I'm really digging all this. Titles included. They're a great heel stable that, for once, aren't out to conquer the "power" of TNA television. They have some other, not-yet-clear agenda, with a cryptic, Jesus-like version of Storm at the helm. The way I see it, anything that keeps James Storm on my television can only be a good thing.
