Getting Noticed By Management
Sting just appeared on the WWE Network!!!!!
After all this time it seems the impossible came true, Sting has joined WWE and Calls Vince his Boss!?!?!?
He appeared on the Network and and was a part of Ultimate Warrior Week.
What do you think? Happy? Sad? Disappointed he finally caved?

Tbh im excited i started watching wrestling back in 99 and have always been WWE exclusive except for a few TNA shows here and there. Ive seen sting matches on WWE produced dvds but thats it

Thoughts ?

Was hoping they would've made a bigger deal out of his first WWE appearance. I'm sure they will for his TV debut but still, feels like a missed opportunity there.

Tbh i would have rathered this be a surprise on a ppv or a big raw instead of the network. It just seems that someone of Sting's caliber and legacy deserved a bigger entrance into the WWE. Now stating Monday Night Raw the chants will start and will lead to a possible Batista situation with his debut. Underwhelming since it would have been bigger if it was a surprise. And with Taker injured could this mean we get another match as his first dance on a WWE ring?

I think they did the right thing. Throw crumbs to the WWE fans, and get them excited for his first live TV appearance in early 2015. Then, the match with 'Taker at WM31 :)

As Bad News Barrett would say, "can I have some decorum please?!?"

I know we're all over eager and extremely anxious about seeing Sting in the WWE, but let's not get carried away. It was just an interview, on the WWE Network, talking about one of the biggest stars in wrestling history, on a show dedicated to that wrestler shortly after he died, who just so happened to be his tag team partner when they broke into the business.

Let's not read more into this than what it is. It doesn't necessarily mean he's "joined" the WWE and it most certainly does NOT mean Vince is his boss!! That's just crazy talk.

Even if you want to assume he wouldn't have done this interview if he didn't have some sort of contract with the WWE, which is a reasonable belief, it's probably just a Legends contract. This doesn't mean he'll be on TV anytime soon...and let's be honest, nobody's going to be chanting his name on Raw anytime soon, so that's not a concern. Which means it'll still be a surprise IF he does show up on TV someday.

I like the fact that he signed with the WWE, but I don't understand why people want to see him wrestle so bad. You're not getting Ricky Steamboat from the 80s, you're getting the Steamboat who wrestled Jericho twice in 2009. Sting is 55 years old now. Look at how Hogan looked at WM, Austin was even walking funny to the ring. Undertaker had a whole year off the road and he's slowed down. Sting's face paint will be able to mask his age for only so long. If anything, as far as a match is concerned, give him the Heath Slater treatment that legends got last year. Let him go into the HOF and leave him be.

I am a little pissed to hear sting signed. He's a little bitch who refused to come to wwe when he actually mattered, and now that he's a washed up, pathetic old grandpappy, now he's ready to play ball. Who cares??? He has nothing to offer anyone in the wwe or the fans. The undertaker involvement is over, and the warrior is gone, so what's he gonna do? Come out with his clown makeup on and yell to the crowd...and I'm sorry to say I don't see who would be excited about that. BORING

While this does not necessarily mean that he has signed a contract with the WWE (his current state could be like many of those former stars who talk about wrestlers in video packages), I'm eager to see his debut in the company and what he brings to the table. Sting is a true professional and doesn't back down from losing to younger talent, so we won't have to worry about him getting himself over at the cost of others. But I fear that WWE might book him in crappy angles as a kind of punishment for not signing for all these years... I hope it doesn't happen though, especially now with Triple-H running the show. That bit is so Vince McMahon-like. On the other hand, Sting coming for anyone other than Undertaker won't make much of a sense, since he is the only one that is still wrestling from the times when WCW was still around.

Honestly, I don’t think that I would count this as his WWE debut anymore than I would count the archived footage and images of him that have appeared on Raw, DVD’s and wwe.com as his debut. I think that it is fitting that Sting be a part of the Warrior tribute given their history coming up together in the business. I don’t see this as some sort of blown debut, but rather an appropriate participation in a retrospective that steps outside of the product to document, reflect and pay homage to an icon. I think it would have been disrespectful to Warrior’s legacy and his fans to clearly have the ability to have Steve Borden participate and not pull the trigger instead rationalizing that he could not affiliate with the product until WWE got the best bang for their buck by debuting him at a televised live event. There is the realm of the fictional WWE Universe, where he has yet to debut… hopefully he will (it’ll be a nice final chapter even if it won’t be relevant to the climax of his story). This interview in no way diminishes the impact of his live debut, whether it’s huge or not… a topic which seems to be a current debate amongst the would be pundits of the IWC.

Always some sort of unbeliever when it comes to Sting signing some deal. It may not be the debut people anticipated but I think some deal had to be made for Sting to be on the network even for a a Warrior tribute. Vince has too much pride to allow someone unsigned.

I'd love to see Sting a few times on Raw but if he never is I'm excited that some agreement has been made. He can definitely be of use to WWE. So even if he is seen on Raw even just as a backstage presence like you see someone like Arn Anderson is. That still is exciting. We all knew he wouldn't wrestle for WWE long even if any but he can still be an asset.

Ironically just yesterday I had some thought about how they could have brought Sting in on Raw for the Warrior tribute since he knew him very early on, and then I thought "nah, that would be weird for the guys first appearance in the company ever to be all about memorializing someone else". Not to sound like an idiot, of course a real life death is more important than anything in the wrestling business, but I just didn't think it would make sense for them to use Sting like that. If he had appeared after WM and was already in the picture, that would be different. Lo and behold I wake up the next day and Sting's first appearance was exactly for that reason, and not even on TV, but on the network. Kind of strange.

Yes, really. There's been so much speculation for so long, so many delays, so many denials. In the old days, without all the social media, we would have heard nothing and wound up being treated to the sight of Sting making his initial appearance on Monday Night Raw with the audience shouting in stunned surprise.

Even today, I figured there would be more fanfare than a short filmed sequence on the WWE Network, for gosh sakes. Yes, he'll turn up on Raw and be cheered, but it won't be a surprise and we'll never get the benefit of that rush we feel when something huge and unexpected occurs......and the sight of Sting showing up on WWE TV is big.

On the other hand, Steve Borden has seemingly held WWE at arm's length for a long time, and some reports we've read suggested that Vince McMahon was taking a nonchalant approach in getting the man signed, as if the whole thing was no big deal. Certainly, the timing of his "introduction: (WM30 is over) suggests this might be the case. Even with all that, I had been (foolishly) sure he was going to show up at the big event.

No, there wasn't going to be a parting of the Red Sea because Sting had finally arrived, but there should have been more bells & whistles than this. Hopefully, there will be something more eventful when he does make his first TV appearance, rather than just having him wave to the crowd. He doesn't necessarily have to get physically involved, but a nice dispute with someone to kick things off might be just the ticket.

This only lessens the impact of Stings arrival for us pernickety ***** on the internet.

If Sting makes his debut 6 months from now, or even less, he's get a massive ovation. There's a big difference between being a talking head on a TV show and actually showing up at a live WWE event.

Calm down this wasn't a Sting WWE debut . It was Steve Bordon showing respect to his late friend the Warrior . They both started out wrestling together and traveled the road alot together Warrior even stated this in his HOF speech.

They interviewed Chris Jericho and he's not under contract currently with WWE. The difference is he is not currently working for any other wrestling company. The same can be said about Sting. Maybe the appearance means he has signed a contract.... maybe not. I won't consider him being 'on WWE TV' until he's on WWE TV, not a random 18 second clip on a Network special.

I couldn't have said it better.

A man died, A man Sting was friends with.

He saw an opportunity to pay his respects, he did.
If you think for a second that Vince and Sting thaught that they would be screwing his first appearance by doing this interview you're totally fkin blind as to what is life and what is entertainment.

It is, however, proof that there is a line of communication between WWE and Sting.

"WWE ruined Sting first WWE Appearance" - A clueless wrestling fanatic

By the way, I don't think it was mentioned in any of the posts so far, Sting's actual contribution to the Warrior thing last night was a 30 second story about how Warrior would mix up Tuna fish and Orange Juice in a blender, down the whole thing, and say "now I got my Vitamin C and Protein all in one!"

Cool story bro.

i was about to say that sting hasnt made his debut but steve bordon has appeared to talk about his friend. kudos to u sir for knowing the differance. as for a wwe apearance. technically wcw s last show was a wwe debut for technically like i said. he was wrestling a match for a wwe owned show. as for an officially debut? after the royal treatemnt and proffessionalism that i imagine hunter showed him and displayed just to set up the interview, pen will be put to paper if it hasnt already and he will have a rather creative debut jumping into some storyline that is huge and probably will have the same respect that taker has been afforded in the past.

Honestly, I could care less. His days are well behind him. At least we'll get the obligatory "Sting history" DVD, that will eliminate all his TNA garbage.

I grew up watching NWA wrestling in the late 80's. I always favored WCW over the WWE until 99-00. Sting was the most popular superstar of that era in NWA/WCW. I went to NWA and later on WCW shows and painted my face, even had a damn rat tail when I was very young! People loved Sting during the 96-98 NWO storyline. He wrestled on the final Nitro in 2001. That was the last time he was a big star. I can remember many big matches that Sting had in NWA/WCW, but I can't describe one big match he had in TNA. Many young WWE fans will not know who Sting is. However, he may be charismatic enough to win them over when he comes to RAW. As a long time WCW and Sting fan I have hoped that he would stay off WWE TV. I hoped that if he did sign with the company, it would be for the HOF or a legends deal only. Many former WCW stars have floundered in the WWE. I don't want to see a 55 year old Sting wrestle or be an on air character. It is far too late. His best run would of been between 2001-2003 when the invasion angle was going on. Sting is a legend in professional wrestling, he should be honored for his "past".

For all those who were in New Orleans for WM30 week, raise your hands

Everywhere you went, all people were talking about was the debut of Sting coming that Monday on RAW. With Taker losing his match (HUGE surprise) everything changed, and we got no Sting that night. Being in the arena right from the start of the night, talk in the seats was focused on at what point Sting would come out. But with no Taker to build up a future match with, we never got the most anticipated debut in a long time.
The RAW after WM is always known for it's big returns (Lesnar last year) yet this year we were somewhat let down.
Because I live in Canada, we don't get the WWE Network up here yet, so there's no way I could have seen the mentioned interview. But at some point we will finally get our Sting debut...it's just not going to matter as much because it's coming so late.
