I was talking about my old days of doing a web show(which is coming back after Dec 25th) and I remembered how I did a remix(sorta) of Pocket Full of Sunshine.

So for the heck of it I look up the music video of it.(not my remix the real song) and someone says some shit about it being about drugs.

So I go look it up and people are saying it is and some are saying nah



what do you think??


I don't think it is.

To me, the song is about having a "safe space" mentally/emotionally, a place where she is able to go when the shit hits the fan. It doesn't even remotely seem to be about drugs.

they she means doing drugs and stuff...

That doesn't say anything about drugs to me. Then again, to some people, it might. Personally, I believe we all see things through very "filters" based on our individual life experiences. Since I don't do drugs, I have other things that allusion brings to mind. For someone who does do drugs, maybe that's what they'll think of when they hear it. Just because it's what someone imagines she means doesn't necessarily mean that's what it's about, you know?

Yeah that's what I was thinking.

Like to me its about what it means to you.

Like when everything is bad I just zone it out and try and find a happy place that makes me feel better.

That's what I believe it means, too. It's suggesting she has her own personal supply of happiness -- her "pocketful of sunshine" -- that she reaches into whenever she needs to.
