is the youtube challenge holding back Dolph Ziggler/Zack Ryder?

first ever thread created by me but just wanted all of your opinions..
right so let me give you a bit of info( most of you will already know)

ok so basically, via youtube zack ryder in z TLIS has challenged dolph Ziggler for the internet championship ( or the other way round, ziggy challenged ryder - not so sure, but whatever)

now personally, im a huge fan of ziggy, and hope he progresses to becoming world champion and his character evolving as part of the package... now anyone who knows what a good match is, knows that dolph ziggler has a bright future and is great in ring, as well as on the mic...

i believe, that, by the next wrestlemania, ziggy should have become world champ at least once, if not still holding (or ready to cash in-if he wins MITB)... for the WHC..

now where does that leave this.. challenge?(internet champ)
does that mean that creative will hold ziggler back from progressing so much and make that match happen and have sufficient build up?
will they continue as normal(with hus supposed push) but then give him that match for that internet championship aswell?(RUBBISH IDEA IF THEY DO)


i believe that , Not zack ryder himself is holding back ziggler, but that challenge via youtube for the internet champ, may be a factor that will hold BOTH guys back in terms of carreer progression

i understand it is difficult to predict the future of any superstar or whatever and anything can happen, but was this a poor move , as a back up plan, just to have these two guys on the card at WM..?

is the challenge holding back ziggler? or Ryder even? (provided wwe go ahead with the challenge)

is the challenge a poor decision, on behalf of the wwe?(im sure wwe had some say in the booking of these two at WM)

where do you see Ziggler in terms of career progression for next years WM?

random question: does ziggy need to part ways with vickie and make a huge face turn (ID LIKE THAT TO HAPPEN) OR would you like him to become an incredible heel and remain how he is?

zack ryder vs damien sandow seems to be on the horizon after yesterdays SD! - i like this, just what both guys need (this isnt a question but feel free to comment on them- random question again sorry)

i dont think the show is hurting ziggler at all. he will be in the main event by years end IMO. i would like to see him split from vickie i dont think he needs her to get over. i thought she was gonna turn on him when he faced swagger and thus turning him face.

Ryder at mania i think is going to be intresting b/c its in NY/NJ where obviously he incredibly popular. i was at raw on LI a week or so back and we want ryder chants pretty much through out the night and im guessing they wouldnt want that at mania

In a way it kind of is holding them back. The Internet Championship is an imaginary title that a low card guy made up for self validation. Challenging for it actually goes against Ziggler's whole stance of being "better than the midcard". If they made the Internet Championship real, it would undermine Ryder's underdog character. Conversely if they gave Ryder a real push, it would defeat the purpose of the Internet Title.

While Ryder deserves a push, Ziggler is booked to be far above Ryder on television. Ryder would have to be pushed hard to the point of overexposure, and/or Ziggler would have to be jobbed out, no not to Sheamus like he has been, but to the likes of Percy Watson & Derrick Bateman, before we can believe that the two of them are equals.

Who says this match for the Internet championship is even going to take place? Ryder? Ziggler? Last time I checked there first name wasn't Vincent. I believe Ziggler challenged him to an iron man match if im not mistaken and usually those last awhile so unless this is going to be on the pre show of Wrestlemaina odds are it's not going to happen.

If it doesn't happen while the WWE cameras are rolling, it doesn't exist on television unless it's mentioned on television. Using that logic, the challenge never happened storyline wise, and it probably won't get used on television anyway unless the Internet Championship becomes a real thing. This challenge that happened on a youtube show isn't holding back anything. It just hasn't been the right time to give a guy like Ziggler the title. He's close, but not quite there yet.

Considering most people don't watch the youtube stuff I can't see how it would hold anyone back. Ziggler still has a little bit to prove in the personality department but I think he's getting closer.

Ryder is being held back by the fact that he's god awful in the ring and we're seeing a bit of buyer's remorse from the internet fans who demanded this one trick pony be given a high profile role on WWE television.

^Ryder is not awful. His moveset is just boring, but he makes up for it with charisma. Ryder is a special case in which the fact that he sucks is part of his appeal.

ok 1. im not saying its written in stone that the match will happen
and i agree that vince has the final say, and so ... im guessing it wont develop into a full on storyline.. meaning it shouldnt hold any of the guys back and so they can carry on as usual.

alright im cool with that and it could be said that youtube/twitter feuds are experimental e.g. mick foley and d.ambrose.. fair enough. its what the wwe does, see what works and see what doesnt.
