Is Sami Zayn a potential opponent for Kevin Owens at Mania?

I was on the main page reading through some of the predictions for Fastlane tonight and one thing really got me thinking.

Intercontinental Championship
Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler

This match has been thrown together fairly quickly considering that Owens only just regained the Championship from Ambrose. I believe this match is designed to make Owens look a lot more credible going into WrestleMania. Whether that match will be against his friend Sami Zayn, AJ Styles or even another multi-man match for the Intercontinental Championship.

Prediction: Kevin Owens – whilst screaming “I HATE YOU!”

One person I had not considered facing Kevin Owens at WrestleMania was someone who had come out of NXT. And whilst I know that Finn Balor probably wont be involved, and Neville just doesn't seem to be on the same popularity level as the current Intercontinental Champion, Zayn might be.

Sami is ridiculously over in NXT and even gets a good reaction when he appears on any mainstream WWE programming. His appearance at the Rumble offered him a way back into the main roster and we all know his history with Owens. For my money, they haven't been allowed the proper platform to finish off that feud and what better place to do it than at WrestleMania. It gives NXT a little nod at the biggest stage of them all, gives Owens and Zayn a match to finally settle their beef. And, finally, gives Zayn a chance to move into the main roster.

His appearance at the Lottery offered him a way back into the main roster and we all know his history with Owens.

Anyway, I hope so. It's a thing that's going happen sooner rather than later anyhow. Why not Mania? As I see it, there aren't many better options for Owens or the IC strap. Multi-man schmoz doesn't appeal this year. Styles deserves more. Ambrose deserves more. Owens deserves more.

Besides, surgically transplanting a hot NXT feud to the main roster should help the denizens of Smarkville overlook some of the Mania card's perceived shortcomings.

It's the best possible option and I'm certain it's been discussed. We'll just have to wait and see. Lord knows it's been on my Realistic Dream Card for months.

Owens vs Zayn at Mania could be epic. Both guys are fantastic in the ring and have great chemistry when working together and if they can produce anything near to the match they put on back in 2010 at final battle, then it will more then likely be the match of the night.

No chance. It was a Rumble cameo and I saw that as the end of their feud anyway. Zayn isn't coming on the main roster until after Mania. And when he comes up does anybody have faith in him being booked well enough to the point he'd get a WrestleMania match, let alone a singles match that makes sense.
