Is RVD Really the Best Option?

RVD is definatly a talented wrestler, but I definatly don't think he should be world champion.

I still think AJ Styles should never have turned heel, and should be the face of TNA. When a lot people think of TNA, they think of AJ Styles. But now he's just Ric Flair 2.0 and was much better before as a face, he was so over. The kids loves him because of his high flying moves. The ladies like him. And the adult males like him because he's a really good wrestler.

TNA is such a cluster fuck right now, but I'm gonna try and answer this question. First off van dam should not be champion right now. Is he a good champion? yes, but as usual tna dropped the ball on a lot of its talent. FIRST OFF, aj should not be a heel, he should have remained a face, because aj's main appeal is his in ring ability. Seriously, is anyone buying him as a heel? The person who should be whc right now is a heel samoa joe. The global champion should be desmond wolff or the monster abyss, not the hogan knock off.

TNA's booking is to illogical for me, because come on, is anyone buying sting as a heel also? no, fans still cheer him. So is rvd a good choice for whc right now? no. TNA better stop riding the backs of older talent such as rvd, sting, flair, hogan, hardy and continue to build their own top stars.

NO. The best option for a champion is a heel Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle is the face of TNA. And I agree wholeheartedly about the champion being a heel. Think about it. The WWE/F worked because Hogan was being chased as champion. Sure he was the biggest face in wrestling...but there's the other side of that spectrum.

Ric Flair.

Flair was the quintessential heel. He was better than you in every way, and he proved it and told you every time you seen him. Countless contenders lined up to take Flair out. Some even beat him once. But the majority of the time, Flair managed to find a way to win, and make it like it was the biggest accomplishment in the world. Angle can do that. Angle can sell you on hating him because he's that good. A heel who's actually great at his craft and brags about it is magic for promoters. You have people line up to see him get beat. So what I would do is have Angle come out... act all serious... and beat RVD for the title by using underhanded tactics. He comes out the next night and talks about how he's the best in the world and he proved it by beating RVD. And if he has to, he'll prove it anytime, any place. Old fashioned heel tactics are great and could be essential to their success.

IS Rvd the best option out there? Well, no not really. He what signed in April or March, and now has the world title? Yes he is a great face, and should stay that way. His moves screams face, and he is alright on the mic, but isn't good enough to be a heel.

So RVD is good for amazing matches, but he shouldn't be the top face. Unfortunately, the way TNA is set up, he has to be the top face. And no, Sting shouldn't be the top Heel. That's such a waste, especial since he just got out of a feud with the MEM about 7 months ago. Not also that but he is on his last run, he should of been sent out as a face champion.

Desmond Wolfe if they worked and built on him would make sense. He has never been in the WWE. He plays his role very well, and his look is just perfect. Putting him on the stupid feud with Abyss is a waste.

Top face is the Pope, yes he has been in the WWE, but his character is over with the crowd. I know he is injured, but it makes sense.

• What do you think of the idea of RVD as a face, and do you think he's a better face or heel?

I love RVD as a heel, but it's just not realistic at this point. RVD has been away from wrestling for a years so his return was highly anticipated. TNA absolutely could not bring him in as a heel- it wouldn't have worked. People were going to cheer no matter what he did.

With that being said, a heel turn in the future would be fantastic, but may prove difficult to do. RVD has a rabid cult following who will cheer for him regardless of the company his is working for and regardless of the role he is supposed to be playing. TNA would have to script something very dramatic for it to work.

• Do you think RVD is the best option for TNA WHC right now?

I'm probably the biggest RVD fan in the world, but even I didn't think it was the right time for RVD to go over AJ Styles. I'm just not a fan of someone coming into a company and winning their biggest title in that short of a time period. I thought AJ's reign still had some life in it and could've been worked a little longer. I think TNA jumped the gun on belting RVD and that's the reason why some people think his run has been lackluster. There was no build up- it was simply a win on a weekly episode of Impact. Nothing really special about that.

However, RVD is the TNA world champion and I'm also not a fan of playing hot potato with a world title, either. TNA needs to make this work. RVD needs some solid fueds and some kick ass storylines to go along with it. Use Desmond Wolfe for something other than outlandish, unrealistic angles. The guy is a tremendous talent and I think he could work a great program with RVD.

Agree 100%. However like I said with Sting, Angle has also been relied on way too much. Looking back over the years, TNA has had Angle and Sting center the title picture non-stop since 2006. There is also the fact that Angle as a heel has been played. Very long. Having very short and easily forgettable face runs. It was the TNA fans themselves who practically forced Kurt into a face during his last championship reign. No matter what he did as "The Godfather" he always got huge cheers. I agree that a heel Kurt Angle would be TNA best choice right now, but TNA has already played that card too much. They are gonna have to wait until "the deck can be reshuffled".

rvd proves it in the ring. look at taker, he barely cuts promo's anymore. he dosent need to.

Undertaker has been going for twenty something years now dude. he has a phenomenal career going, and he doesn't need to cut promos.... for a good half (Maybe more) of his career he was a face.. RVD can easily be a heel. Have him go to Ric flair. Make him a heel, and AJ a face... i dont like AJ as a baby face. However when he does a sulky promo as a suck up, he will get heat from the crowd as going from heel, to suck up. Saying he doesn't care to sucking up.. heel vs, heel?? TNA has not used this one in a while.
