He is NOT GOD!! Jesus Christ I hate Foley's legacy. Just because he has the uncanny ability to bleed more than every other superstar in history, he's great. Fuck that!!! There is nothing hot about Foley. He has been fired and brought back and retired and brought back for the last 7 years and each time I see him I just get more and more pissed. He got his ass massacred in a Hell in a Cell by taker and he suddenly get's immortalized. He got electricuted and jumped into barbed wire in Japan and did a bunch of other dumb shyt! Foley couldn't save ECW.....He would be the perfect messiah for that Jack-Ass spin off show, Dr. Steve-o...Damn I hate Mic Foley
See, you're just a guy that completely doesn't understand the business at all.
Mick Foley is a ring general. He's so damn good, he doesn't need to be the main event guy. People like to call Foley a glorified stunt monkey. Why? Because the guy has an uncanny ability to sell and take punishment from another he's no good. Foley sells injuries like no other, and it makes the guy dishing it out that much better.
Look at the list of guys in the WWE that owe a shit load to Mick Foley.
The Undertaker: Foley brought him out of the slow, no selling, gothic undertaker. Only after his feud with Foley did the Undertaker become more violent, begin to use the mic, and his matches not become the same thing night after night. People seem to forget, Taker was pretty average at best in the ring until his feud with Foley.
Steve Austin: Austin has no one to feud with to legitimize his world title. Who steps up to the plate, Mick Foley as Dude Love. Foley goes out there and hangs with Austin, making him look tough as hell in his first months as champion.
The Rock: My God does anyone else owe more to one man then the Rock owes to Foley. The Rock was an unwatchable asshole in much of 1998 and 1999. It wasn't until his feud with Foley that people began to take him as a serious main eventer. Hell, I said it and still do to this day, putting the belt on the Rock in 1998 was the biggest mistake the WWE may have ever made. The guy didn't earn it, and wasn't ready for the title. In their feud in early 1999, Mick made the Rock into a legit main eventer. Plus, Mick made the Rock into an enjoyable face during the Rock and Sock Connection.
Triple H: Take back what I said about the Rock, this guy owes his entire career to Mick Foley. Triple H wins the King of the Ring, and Mick Foley makes him look good the entire time. The cage match at SS 97 made HHH a legit mid carder, where before he was simply a curtain jerker. Triple H didn't deserve te title in 1999, and his feud with Mick Foley in early 2000 turned him into the game we all know today. Without Mick Foley making Triple H look good in the Streetfight and Hell in the Cell, we would be talking about the Game as a Finesse guy, not a legit bad ass capable of taking people out.
Randy Orton: The Legend Killer. Yup, really good to be a legend killer when you're beating up guys like Harley Race or others 20 years into retirement. Mick Foley was retired from active wrestling, and if it wasn't for him coming out of retirment and lying on his back for Randy Orton, no one would give a shit about Randy Orton today.
If you want me to go on, I can. I'll talk about the guys he made look good in WCW and ECW, or how about reviving the career of Terry Funk for one last run? Mick Foley always has, and always will be one of the most, if not most, under appreciated guy in this business.
The New ECW is custom made for a guy like Foley to be a GM, or maybe come out of retirement and carry the title for 6 months to legitimize it. People that bash Mick Foley simply don't understand the business.
