Is Jesse Ventura taking Billy Graham Gimick to Heart?

SAMBOLIEWWE

Occasional Pre-Show
With The Body returning to WWE to host Raw this week, I got to thinking .....
Boy, when Jesse Ventura stole Superstar Billy Graham's Gimmick, he took stealing persona's to another level.

Billy Graham, has been known for his on again off again relationship with the WWE and the McMahon family. This guy really gets under my skin though. I have and always will be a supporter of the WWE, but have not always liked the McMahons or been a real supporter of theirs. But how many times has Superstar, cursed them, and preached the good word of the lord , and tried to take arms up against the WWE........ that is until they offer to pay him for contributing nothing to the company ( in recent years that is, you can argue his contributions from the past) . He blasts people like Ted Dibiase sr. for being a Hypocrite for preaching about god when he took a job when offered by WWE. Where Billy Graham was the biggest Vince McMahon supporter until he was not being paid for doing nothing at all.

Then you have Jesse Ventura, who arguably stole every aspect of Billy Grahams character , clothes , the look, the way he talked ........ and has done it again. Jesse has gone on record to bash the WWE and the way the wrestling world works. and returns when he has something to plug, or make some lame speech about " Maybe there aught to be a Wrestler in the White House " . Thats the last thing this world needs, and if it were to happen, Jesse would not be the guy I would want,,,,,,, is The Ultimate Warrior not available,,,,,,,, they guy might be a nut,,,,, but he is at least a consistent nut.

So is anyone else tired of hearing the same tired old rants from Billy Graham , let alone Jesse ( Billy Graham 2.0 ) and how long do you think it will be before Ventura Bashes WWE on his new show,,,,,,,, the very show he is using Raw to Promote .

Leave Pete Rose in the HALL... get rid of Billy Graham

i dont think you can characterize Jesse as a Billy Graham 2.0. Graham's comments seem to be all about himself, where as Jesse has made several comments defending wrestlers. He spoke out against the WWE the same way any employee might speak out against his employer. If anything he saw the problems the wrestling world was facing far before anyone else. Plus Jesse earned real-world credibility as a public servant. Jesse had legitimate gripes with Vince, something Graham does not have.

Jesse does have some far out opinions politically, but that doesnt mean he should be put in the same category as Graham and the Warrior

Ventura's said that Graham influenced his gimmick, but who hasn't been influenced by any gimmick? i really don't think any gimmick is original per say, they get little by little from other gimmicks. honestly i think you can't categorize them as people. Graham is looking like the kind of person that puts down WWE unless he's with them. so you can say he flip flops. Ventura not so much. politically, you have to give Ventura the nod because he's been in office at least. Graham looks like he wants to keep attention on himself in some way. with WWE, he gets plugged every now & then. without WWE, the only way he can get legit attention is to talk about the negatives of WWE. because of his announcing and some matches in WCW, you can categorize Ventura in the latter generation of Billy Graham. you can make the argument that Graham knows his time as a "big player" is diminishing and people aren't acknowledging him anymore. do we know of Pedro Morales, Billy Graham, etc.? of course, but they are the not the first people we think of anymore. nowadays, you go and you tell people about the "good ol' days", you get Hogan, Savage, Warrior, DiBiase. that generation is replacing Graham's and i think he knows that, that's why he wants to stay in the news, so people won't forget him. btw, if you talk about copying gimmicks, you can't ignore that Hulk Hogan is strikingly similar to Graham's :p
