Is It Unrealistic To Think The United States' Next War Will Be Fully Televised Live?

Everytime I try it, the following message appears-

Okay, that's valid.

I think a lot less civilized people would tune in though.

That really narrows down the ratings if your demographic is the less than sane Americans. If this were to happen I doubt any reporter or crew would commit unless they earn a healthy pay-check. And producers would only pay those checks if they got healthy ratings for the live broadcasts.

I think plenty of Americans would tune in, even for the pure novelty of it. Plus, if it were on the big news channels, they don't have to worry much about the advertisers- they'll be there no matter what.

I'm sure a lot of people would tune in for the first couple of live airings of the war. The idea itself is marketable, but the product that would come from it would be a disaster. Covering the war is one thing, but having it aired live when lives are at stake is a completely different thing. Like I said before, I just don't see a wide enough of an audience that a live war coverage would appeal to.

"Placing his gun to the temple, the American soldier pulls the trigger, as the Muslim's brains and innerds burst from the opposite side of his skull, creating a wonderful moment in nature and a mess on the floor."

I'd prefer Brian Cox convincing us that this is the Human equivalent of a White Dwarf going supernova with that silly, gourmless grin on his face.

I agree with this

And this

That really narrows down the ratings if your demographic is the less than sane Americans.

Erm. . .

People would watch it in droves though, the rest of the Country would be surprised (or pretend to be at any rate) that such a huge number of people are tuning in, out of morbid curiousity, armchair bloodthirstyness or maybe even professional interest (I dont know either) but I reckon it'd be absolultely huge if they did it, the ultimate reality television.

It's a stupid idea and it'll never happen though.
