Is It A Good Idea For WWE To Have More Introduction Promo Videos/Vignettes?

One thing I already miss even though it was not that long ago was the Cody Rhodes tips.

I always thought it was a good way to push the character. Do you think they should do that more often?

I would like to see that more often. Brodus Clay showing dance moves, Del Rio having somthing like an ep of Cribs or showing off cars, Ryder doing a little part of his show, David Otunga lawyer vids, Miz doing the dirt sheet, and more.

I think it could help bring some of the characters to life more. What do you think?

To quote Daniel Bryan, "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!" Although with the way WWE is embracing social media these days they'd more than likely would push that idea onto YouTube or Twitter instead of putting it onto one of their shows. The empty arena promo with John Cena talking about his fued with The (C)Rock was a good example.

I think it would help, especially as a way to debut a wrestler. I remember they used to that for a new wrestler and it always made them seem like a big deal rather than just some shmoe who appeared out of nowhere.

anything that gives talent on air time to speak and get themselves over is a great idea. I used to love Randy Orton CNN rip off injury updates in 2003 before he joined Legacy. They really were a super way to show his slow building heel ego coming out. Served him well when he was fit to return to competition.
Alberto Del Rios was introduced for ages in his vignettes, he was already well over and hated before he stepped foot in a ring.

Yeah and it doesn't matter if it's a heel or face but doing anything to better introduce wrestlers with videos is a thumbs up. Now when that wrestler finally debuts and is just a complete dud then well sometimes looking back it can be a failure. A great example that I thought of where it worked out nicely was when Goldust made his debut with all of the movie critique promos.

I think it would be a great idea. The superstars could really evolve if given the opportunity. I also think they need to have more backstage segments as well as just in ring promos. Anything to help build character because it's really what superstars lack now days. They all seem generic. That's what made wrestling so successful in the past was everything was entertaining and exciting. They were characters coming to life. Now it just seems stale and boring at times.

It's always a huge HUGE plus to have vigenettes to showcase and build hype for a superstar. It's the entertainment business, it's the fact that even a lameass movie needs a kickass trailer.

Remember that Sub-Zero kinda guy from WCW, what was his name? His pre-debut vids were Pamela tits! His tenure was Betty White tits. But the whole hype and promotion was superb. It created a buzz amongst viewers and that's what the cryptic spooky Jericho kid did. The vigenettes sometimes turn out to be much better.

Yes, it would be a great way to debut a superstar, heel or face. Look at how jericho debuted, it was hyped up so much, and look at him now. They need to do that with seth rollins, cause hes been soing some dark matches on raw, so the fans already know him, and they could hype him up to be the next big thing.

That is a great idea to bring a character who hasn't debuted yet. Its better if they are debuting since people can have their opinions based on the videos instead of their past experience. A wonderful example is Sean O'Haire's Im not telling you anything you don't already know videos

Yes, I missed the promos they did for Kofi and for Carlito.

The problem with pushing everyone's promos onto the internet is that not many people are going to go out of their way to watch a web video. Yes WWE is doing a great job with their YouTube videos, but a lot of material they have, such as the post-match interviews are things that can easily be put on their TV shows.

Problem is these days the WWE never knows if a guy is ready and will be over enough at the start. See how these days they introduce a guy then pull back on his push, then bring him back in the main event, etc...Back then when they would introduce vignettes for a new character, it was a big marketing push because these were experienced guys that were ready for the big time. When they did the stuff with Million Dollar Man and Mr. Perfect, it played a lot and when these guys debuted they shot all the way to the main event scene. Same thing in the 90s with guys like Val Venis. What i'm saying is, if they start doing vignettes they better make sure the guy that shows up knows what he's doing and that they push him all the way.
