I'm sure this was asked many times before, but is the Feb. 3rd show of Impact taped, or Live? With the amount of hype they are giving this show, it's kinda weird that they would have taped it already. I'm sure most of the IWC Dirtball Marks have read the spoilers and are just waiting to rip the hell out of the show once it airs. But for perhaps the casual fan who may skim the spoilers to see if it''s worth the time to tune in, that could hurt any ratings gain that TNA was hoping to get.

I don't see how the spoilers can turn some people off so bad. Personally, I always read the spoilers and more often than not they pump me up for the show and I end up watching it because a LOT of the times the people who write the show review miss out on some important details. Take this week for example. The spoiler read "The lights went out and when they went back on Steiner was in the ring with a pipe". Not so exciting. They missed out on the details, the music, the f-bombs he was dropping, being Steiner, so on.
Honestly, as a fan, I don't give a fuck if it's taped or live. I even wish it's taped because I can't wait.
For TNA it'll be much better if it's live for obvious reasons.
Either way is cool with me and I don't know if it'll be taped or live. TNA has not announced it as being live (I think) so that could mean it's taped. I'm more worried about the show itself because ONCE AGAIN there's too much going on. I think they'll waste two months of signigicant events in one show. The court case, Hardy vs Anderson, "they". But on the other hand, this Immortal angle needs something fresh - and that's what this is.

I don't think it's been taped yet, but I'm not sure if it's live or not. I think this show is supposed to be broadcast live from North Carolina, but I really can't find anything through Google that isn't just rumors or people predicting what they think will occur. I could be wrong though.

they might have taped, might have not....I don't remember if it was taped for that date. I wouldn't say it's a mistake to go live on that date but if it's going to be live then I would have waited for the following week to go live that way it'd be 3 nights before the ppv

The Feb 3rd show is being taped this Monday after TNA gets back from the Euro Tour. I don't think this will affect the ratings because the show after BFG was also Taped and that was one of the Highest Rated episodes of Impact ever.

I hope it's recorded. I don't care if it's live or not but if it is live then they have to compete with Monday Night Raw and I would rather watch Raw than TNA. Onto the spoilers thing. I read the spoilers if I don't think I'll be able to watch the show. I have a life outside of wrestling and it's just fun to watch. Usually I forget who wins the match and what not so I'm still pretty hyped up for it.

Isn't Feb 3rd the date they're supposed to be unveiling the new "They?" If it's taped that doesn't seem like the smartest move considering there's quite a surprise factor there. Case in point...if I see no spoilers here about who "They" are, well then I'm probably gonna have to watch iMPACT that week. Since I'm a teetering fan, whom I'm sure TNA feels that by running a mystery angle may spark interest in my demographic, the same just won't be true if I'll be finding out who "They" are ahead of time.

Whether its taped or not I dont think it matters. Reason being I think they've made it pretty obvious that "they" is the Main Even Mafia, or a variation of the group. Crimson had the mafia suit on the other night, when steiner came back he had the mafia suit on as well. So as far as the spoilers go, I don't think it will surprise many people when they read that it is the MEM. So taped or not, I think it will still draw alot of viewers just because of the heavyweight title match, also to confirm to many viewers that "they" is the MEM.

this Impact should be live, but for some reason TNA is not doing that.
the biggest part of this night is the reveal of the new "they" which has been speculated as being MEM, but there is also multiple other things that will occur this night. the return of Hulk Hogan. what will he be doing there? this is when the court ruling is supposed to come down from the judge, although this I think will be a promo/backstage type thing so this would likely not be in the spoilers. you have the return title match between Anderson and Jeff Hardy.
I've sometimes wondered whether spoilers have a negative effect. personally I always read the spoilers, and usually have a browser window open to a page with the spoilers so I can know what will happen. but could there not be a large number of people who read the spoilers, and if the show does not sound that interesting, they don't watch? there is always more than what is revealing in spoilers, but there could be people who just keep track of the spoilers rather than tuning in each week to week to week.
maybe the way TNA tapes Impact, they feel this is better for their wrestlers? the last 3 weeks of Impact were taped on 3 consecutive nights. however that was likely because TNA was going to be touring over seas, but in the past TNA has also taped 3 or at least 2 Impact in one week.
