Impact Support Club House

Jesse has improved leaps and bounds. I don't want to see any of them leave. I don't like their gimmicks but dig their wrestling work.

I said: "Also, the reason why they announced The Bro-Mans re-signing as good news, baffles me. They are very talented, but that gimmick is so bad, so bad." So I agreed they were good hands, but that gimmick is really bad. First it's so stale, I mean Robbie E.'s been like that his entire career and that thing ran it's course like a month later after it's debut. Secondly, who's that for? Wrestling fans? I highly doubt that.

I personally like the gimmick and it's pretty over, at every taping I've been to in NY you see a ton of people wearing BroMans merchandise and the people who mimic DJ Z yelling "bbbbbeeeerp" the minute he comes down the aisle, it seems to be that many "wrestling fans" enjoy the group

But is it a draw? I mean, when was the last time someone said: "Gee, I've gotta watch Impact to see what Bro-Mans are gonna do..." It just looks so fake, I don't know. Maybe it's just me who hate this kind of crap in wrestling.

Also, I think that if this is what they really want to do, try and do something different, something catchy and try and give them a babyface run or whatever and try to emulate that feeling that New Age Outlaws gave. Neither Robbie E or Jessie are World Champions material (neither was EY and look what they did, yes, it's still bad because it was rushed, EY is amazing and as an heel, he could be pure gold, but damn his main event run sucked major balls) so maybe pair them up with some main event guy with an attitude, like Austin Aries, that would be a nice way to use them.

Their purpose isn't to be one of the main draws in regards to being one of the main reasons to watch or go to see but they do draw by selling a lot of merchandise

You have got to be giving them way too much stock in the merchandise department. It's not like they are cool or anything for people to go out on their way to buy them a t-shirt. They are very talented people, they can be better in that department, even as just a midcard tag team that sells T-shirt. Once again, cue for the New Age Outlaws, who were just fun to watch. I saw every episode of 1998's Raw and really, I always looked forward for them, because they were cool (even in 2014) and really charismatic and neither was World Title material (no, not even Billy Gunn). I mean, when was the last time you saw a wrestling fan saying: "You know what I really think is very cool? Pauly D from Jersey Shore" No. Wrestling fans are way more condescending, we HATE Jersey Shore and bash the society that grooms them as stars... TNA should be delivering content for wrestling fans and not teenage girls who have a passion for tanned guys and bikinis and beaches and sex.

I'm not giving them to much credit I'm stating the facts that I've everytime I've been to the Manhattan Center a lot of people are wearing their shirts bringing BroMans signs and reacting to their entrance, I think you're asking for too much from a group that's supposed to be an entertaining lower to mid card type act

Again if many people have bought their merchandise bring signs and react positively when they enter then your point of it not being for wrestling fans is clearly not the case

Well maybe I am asking for too much and they are not really the reason I am sad about Impact. They are not even that big and I love Zema Ion (the guy is a damn good worker, he always had good matches when he keeps the goofy shtick to zero). Also, I don't find a "race" entertaining for wrestling, it's just lame.

Still, they could get better. They have the talent to do it, but that really seems like all Impact Wrestling.

Honest question to you Joe: You are obviously a major fan of TNA and I am not judging, we all love what we do and it's nobody's business - but what type of shows do you really enjoy in your life? (trying to find a trend and a real target here).

Because I don't know, I am really a guy who has a lot of nerd tastes, as I love movies, tv shows with super heroes and great characters really (Arrow or Breaking Bad, so not a style, just a good story) but I totally despise shows about nature and Survivor and Big Brother and crap like that. Not knocking, just stuff I really don't like. And I really try hard to follow TNA, but I only seemed to like it in 2012 with the Bobby Roode run, who was way more wrestling 101.

EDIT: Still not buying the fact that they are really a draw for TNA fans. Enzo Amore on NXT seems to be more entertaining that Robbie E's entire career and he isn't moving the stands.

I watch Flash, Arrow, Agents of Shield, Blacklist, Law&Order Svu, Amazing Race, Survior, Mad Men, Game of Thrones House and Dexter are two shows I recently finished and enjoyed a lot with House being one of my favorites and I can't convince you of the merchandise point so I can't say more to convince you

What about other wrestling shows? Have you ever tried something different, like NXT or ROH? If you don't watch WWE, is quite fine though.

I watched the last ROH PPV thought it was good dont get the TV show in New York ordered WK9 live thought it was really good don't watch much Raw no Smackdown and I watch NXT

Humm, so you are one of those really loyal fans, even though you know the company has it's ups and really down times... I get it. Keep supporting it! It's not for everybody, but if you like it, you like it and I hope they really get their major target. I'll give TNA until Lockdown to make me at least wonder about what can happen in the UK tour, if they are able to do that, I am in. I am staying away from WWE until the Royal Rumble at least.

...I mean, you realize you're in the IMPACT SUPPORT thread, right?

Yes, so what? TNA can be bad enough to even get their "supporters" off.

EDIT: WWE and others can too, don't get me wrong. I've been watching WWE for my entire life and they can be so bad that they only make me watch here and there and the PPV's for nostalgic reasons. And I consider myself a fan and a supporter, as in, I've got the network at least.

...I mean, you realize you're in the IMPACT SUPPORT thread, right?

I hate when you say this.

I guarantee go back to 2006 and I was much a bigger TNA fan then you were. I used to love TNA. You seem to dislike when anyone criticizes TNA for its shortcomings solely because this thread is titled "Impact Support". We're supporting it, because criticism is support. You have a biased outlook on things and I get that, that's fine, I rarely call you out on it, but when other posters are calling others out on bias you shouldn't respond with, "you know this thread says SUPPORT", some of us uses to be staunch supporters, but maybe unlike you we realized that what we were supporting is most of the time pretty disappointing.

We heard you the other 95d0-458u6j times you said this, just so you know.

What (I believe) irks IDR! and I know cheeses me off something rotten is the negativity and the spoilers from Impact has moved to the multiple taping model. Since that has happened, so called 'Impact Supporters' (some of whom slag the product despite admitting not watching:wtf:) are insulting the product IN FUCKING ADVANCE to the programs even airing.

I'm still awaiting someone to admit that the product has actually been pretty bloody good since about the middle of last year. The Revolution, Lashley's WHC run, Wolves/ Hardyz/ 3D, Joe's X-Title run, the continued evolution of EC3 and Spud, Gail Kim highlighting how much the E messed up with her twice, (for British fans) British Bootcamp 3... and that was in the face of an uncertain future!

Now, they have a new home and unprecedented support from their network to become a success. Their first episode has received strong reviews and (if current reports are correct) they have blitzed their nearest network rival. Our reaction? "FFS - not another faction" (ignoring the potential of said faction). "Friday night's will never work" (despite the fact it's the network that believes that'll be their strongest position). And now we're discussing the BroMans like that'll be the be all and end all of the company:shrug:.

There is constructive criticism as support (ex. personally, I'd have liked EY to join with the Revolution if he had to go heel because I feel he'd have meshed better there and there is the EY/ Storm/ Roode history to play off) but complete negativity about things based on spoilers, especially when the hardly supportive main page has been pretty postive? There is no support in that approach!

The product has been really good. More solid wrestling, better X Division matches, better character build ups better everything then before. People just tend to look at the negatives it seems like and stick with them to avoid anything else. Everyone who speaks of criticism of the product say the same thing. People here claim to love wrestling which TNA is, but always tear it apart with the same stupid answer "TNA needs to stop being TNA and doing this, that and the other." Then when TNA does change it up they're copying this that and the other from everyone else. That's bull shit. And please, correct me if I'm wrong.

TNA has been on TV once and the fuck did people expect? New everything? Why? I'm happy they kept the consistency of the story instead of having to learn all new stuff. But either way, TNA is always going to face criticism and skeptical fans. Give them time to grow past January before bashing/criticizing them.

Just my two cents, but I think Robbie E & Jessie are hilarious.

That's because they are. The gimmick is still a little dumb and dated at this point, as the whole Jersey Shore thing has run its course, but both of them play the role to success in spite of this fact.

Not at all. Be critical all you like. Just don't do so in my TNA support thread that was specifically designed for fans of the product to praise the things it's getting right.

You know what's fine to do? Criticize the Catholic Church. You can point to any number of things they get dead wrong — condom use in AIDS-ridden Africa, women's rights, the institutional cover-up of child molesting priests in the Vatican, etc.

You know isn't fine to do? Walk into your local Catholic Church's during Sunday morning mass screaming about it. That's simply not an appropriate place or time to be voicing criticisms, even if you are a Catholic yourself.

So hey, you're not a supporter any longer? Fine by me. No skin off my back.

Just don't come pissing on my front porch reminding me.

I'm not a supporter anymore because I have expectations for the show it doesn't meet. I want it to be what it used to be because what it once was, wasn't broken, was changed and it shouldn't have been. Remember Roode's initial World title reign? Remember when Austin Aries won the title off him at Destination X 2011? Remember AJ Styles vs. Bully Ray, the initial formation of Bad Influence? THAT's the TNA I'm talking about, not the one from many, many years ago that is definitely never coming back.

I have no issue with anyone who has a bias for the show saying it's good, that's fine by me, even during the bad times for ROH in 2011 and 2012 I tried to be positive and tell people, "oh it's still pretty good", when it wasn't, and would then contradict myself by criticizing the product - which is something I'll do to any show if it's not good enough. And my bottom line point is, TNA's not good enough, it should be better. I want it to be better, so I criticize it. If I didn't want it to be better, I wouldn't have watched the first episode on Destination America. That's true support, jack!

In response to this, I will say that we don't actually KNOW that EY is a part of the MVP stable.

Its possible that the only new members of the stable are Joe and Low Ki. Perhaps the way things went down on Wednesday is just a product of EY and the new stable having a shared agenda. EY was jealous and wanted to get the title off Roode(a "if I can't have it, you can't either" mindset), and the MVP stable wanted to get the belt back on Lashley.

We just may be getting a heel EY who isn't directly a part of either heel stable, and that's the way I'd prefer it. EY doesn't need to be anyone else's back-up, and doesn't need anyone else to speak his agenda, he's more than capable on his own.

But yet you still shit all over it? It's been one week dude and your world and hopes of TNA being better are over. You make it seem like you're all talk about wanting TNA to grow but yet one episode and you give up? Tell me if I'm reading between the lines too much.
