Meltzer:

Alberto Él Patron isn't in the plans for TNA tonight. I've been told that he flew back to his home in San Antonio, TX from Puerto Rico this morning and a drive from Texas to NYC is pretty impossible. Anyone I know who know him have told me he's uneasy about signing for TNA off the back of the couple of years they've had. He has plenty of work going for him and is now a champion in both Mexico and Puerto Rico. He is working for ROH, which he apparently loved because unlike in WWE or what you would expect from TNA, his job was just to have the best match he could have. He's scheduled to face Jay Lethal for the ROH World TV title at the 3/1 13 Anniversary pay-per-view as they began an angle at this past Saturday's TV taping in Nashville. If he wants he can wrestle in Japan for pretty much anyone that's not New Japan, and even New Japan might want him. Their working relationship with CMLL and CMLL's shaky relationship with AAA wouldn't stop them because NJPW work with CMLL out of choice not out of need. Alberto's probably going to debut on Lucha Underground soon and while ROH probably wouldn't mind because LU's ratings are far below theirs, TNA are big on exclusive deals especially when it comes to working TV for other company's.

I'm going to give this a chance tonight. Hope they can wow me and show they've learnt from their mistakes.

Didn't know I had the station until a couple hours ago, but since I have it I'm gonna check this out tonight and see how it is. I don't expect it to be much different but hoping for the best.

Now those are spoilers I can get behind.

1) I hope Del Rio kills Lethal. Given the insane level of name value he has, he probably wins that belt too.

2) LU tapings are on Jan 16, 17, 25 & 26. 16 episodes total.

3) NJPW should go for him. He's big money right now. The show in PR hit 6,000.

One thing that annoys me really - the average age of the people involved in the main event scene, and I am counting: King, MVP, Joe, Low Ki, Eric Young, Lashley, Roode, Angle and Aries is almost 38 years. Why? What's the deal with TNA letting their talents peak only when they are after their best years? It's a pet peeve, but it annoys me.

The show wasn't bad, but it wasn't really good either. It just happened. I like the tag division, in fact, it's the only thing I like. Awesome Kong being back is good, sure, but as long as she's paired up with Havok, there's no interest for me. Havok just plain sucks.

Who would you want to see in the title picture? Age to me for wrestling is a fine wine. When someone is new and young they get called too "green." When someone is having great matches but average out to be 38 their to old and a step behind.

I don't see an issue with all the names you pointed out being in the main event. They all can wrestle and they can really wrestle really well. Them peaking past their best years is crazy. Low Ki can go, Lashley, MVP, Roode, Aries and Lazy Joe all can go. Being a little slower doesn't mean they lost their peak/prime it is just age. Not one of them is sloppy in the ring or anything.

It's just a pet peeve really, but it annoys me because TNA's product is ridiculous stale because most of these guys have already faced each other one way or the other in the past. It needs some fresh young talented blood in the main event scene. Really, it's Kenny King's work that I am most looking forward and see if that leads to something.

Fresh blood? You mean like Lashley?

Lashley is having a fresh run, that's for sure and his imminent babyface turn will only freshen it up even more, but it can't be denied the fact that the guy has already gone after pretty much everyone on the roster, aside from MVP really and apparently they've nixed the idea of Angle/Lashley, which is nice. Why can't Gunner be involved in this somehow? There's a guy that just looks badass.

Eventually hopefully they'll move up Beam, Gunner, Shaw, ECIII, Tyrus, Kenny King and Robbie E. These are some younger blood per say who can be main event wrestlers.

That's true but it gives him more time to keep building himself. I definitely didn't want his push had he won the title too early to turn out like Magnus' push.

I didn't say win, I said push toward.

I'd imagine he'll hold it before the 2015 calendar year closes, but I think TNA had plans to get him closer to it at the start of the year than this that's now been forcibly derailed due to injury.

I know, I'm just adding in that if he had won it it would've been too soon. I'm agreeing that he would've been even closer to that belt had the injury not occurred.

TNA could do with some more tag teams. I like The Wolves and The Hardys are one of my favourite teams, but aside from them and James Storm and his crew who is there??

You have the Wolves, The Hardy's, The Revolution(which could potentially create a couple combinations), The BroMan's, Magnus and Bram, potentially Anderson and Melendez, and some different combos from the new heel stable, plus ECIII and Tyrus could be working tag matches if Carter were healthy.

Honestly its not a lot of true tag teams, but there are some real teams that are very good, and some other natural combinations that work based on how the roster is aligned.

Considering the relatively small size of TNA's roster, the situation could be far worse.

I'd say if they could maybe bring in one more true natural tag team, they'd be beyond set with a full division(but I doubt they will bringing in any teams).

BroMans and technically the Menagerie.

They had Bram and Magnus, but they seem to be distancing Bram from Magnus these days.

Joe and Low Ki may join up at this point, depending on what happens with this main event scene coming out of last night.

The tag division is the strongest thing they have so far, and that's really because of the excelent wrestlers that The Wolves are, and the stardom of the Wolves. However, as far as character goes, The Revolution is the most intriguing thing in years for the company. Let them stay as they are and don't add people up. It will kill the stable.

Also, as soon as Storm/Abyss move on from the tag scene, we could easily see Sanada and Manik become The Revolution representatives for that same division. At least, that's what I hope. Bringing in new people wouldn't kill them either.

You know I completely forgot Bram and Magnus were a team. I know Bram is technically the more interesting of the two but surely a tag run with Magnus would do well for him. They win but Bram ends up being to crazy and leaves (or beats Magnus to a pulp) thus starting his singles career.

I'd rather they went that route than pushing Bram as the "hardcore king", forcing him to wrestle Abyss every night. But what's done is done.

I still think they could use a fresh new team. A legit team off the indies. Whomever they may be.

It's not like there is a lot of "natural" tag teams in indy wrestling that is interested in going to TNA. The Young Bucks are a duo of assholes who don't really deserve the success they've been having (I really don't like them). The Briscoes are ROH in their blood. reDragon totally deserves their success. KES and TMDK are in for a treat this year in Japan, so no way. You have The Bravado Brothers, who are very generic but good workers and Anthony Neese and Barretta could work as well. But really, their best shot is to get two indy guys and team them up from the get go and build them as a team, even making them get some success at OVW.
