Impact Support Club House

I have no idea what he was up to in ROH. At Lockdown, the selling was OK but because there were several in the match, it was a bit easy for him. I though he did a terrible job when he faced Roode and ruined part of the match in the video I had put on and marked. I think it was the same match where he was Irish-wipped into a turnbuckle and instead of turning around normally before hitting it, he jumped and twisted round instead. It looked so stupid. Sure, he reacts when getting hit but it doesn't look real enough. He sells it but I'm never sold on it. Eddie seems OK but I'd like to see him in 1 on 1 action.

What was Davey's character over in ROH anyway?

I guess I misinterpreted the criticism. Davey's selling has always been the top sticking point of the critics of his in-ring work.

But in the past that was people labeling him as someone who didn't sell at all. Which wasn't entirely inaccurate. But it really became exaggerated when Eddie and Davey were positioned as world champions who were the faces of the Cornette era of ROH, which put a lot of emphasis on their strong style approaches, mimicking MMA, and putting a premium on an accelerated workrate that lead to a lot of no selling in the traditional sense.

What you're seeing from Davey now is a style of selling he never employed in the past, and I think its his way of adapting as well as sticking it to the people that said he didn't sell enough to make it past the independent level.

I guess he could be accused of overselling to a degree or in a manner that some could find awkward, but atleast its not in the comedic fashion of the BroMans(which works for them, but wouldn't for an undersized and intense babyface) or in the eye-rolling fashion of a guy like Dolph Ziggler for example.

While the Wolves have in many ways been allowed to be themselves, it should also be said that Davey and Eddie are also making a big transition stylistically in other ways. As good as they've been, they're still finding their footing. Soon they will settle down and really get comfortable, both guys are phenomenal workers individually and they've always meshed seemlessly since teaming up as well.

That could happen. It worked with Aries, Bryan and Punk after they joined WWE and TNA so I don't see why not for The Wolves. It'll take time and I'm sure they can adjust to a different type of wrestling. I thought their promo the week before they went to Glasgow was pretty cool.

Okay, so I just finished the Impact where EC3 and Spud go look for somebody. I'll do a one-man LD in spoilers, just in case ;)

The hunt for Willow was great. I'm not a fan of physical comedy, but that was great.

Holy shit! Face Bully is such a treat. Good on the couple of indy wrestlers who brought in the tables. Maybe JohnJohnson knows them... In true wrestling fashion, Bully crashed into all his own tables, save the one that was used later in the Gunner/Storm match.

I saw Kenny King's vignettes, very excited to see him again. I'll admit, though, at first I thought those clips were MVP.

Knux is still with TNA? Cool, but that whole segment felt phoned in.

Magnus had a match where he looked weak, par for the course, eh? The promo between him and Abyss afterwards made sense, at least. I specifically nitpicked at Davey's selling and it looked good to me in this decent match. Great two-man manoeuvres once again. Why is TNA's champ in the midcard, though?

The knockout-segments were good, but I'm not sure I'm feeling the way TNA treats their girls. The match with Angelina and Madison got quite a big reaction, but the butt-pointing is a little much. Is that really the way to go? Weird to see Velvet playing mean bitch after playing wounded flower to Sabin.

Joe and EY was a solid match, but that rear naked choke was horribly applied. Also, if this new serious EY is going to become a real thing, he can't sell as comically like he did tonight. At one point he was channelling the spirit of Flair.

I really enjoy Storm and Gunner's programme, but I didn't finish watching their match. Partly it's because I'm quite sleepy already and it's been a long day, but partly because of those shots to the head. I don't want to see this, not at all. Those trash cans look like aluminium foil, yes, but the shots were too many and I don't want to have to overrate Gunner in a couple of years' time after he kills somebody.

Hunt for Willow was definitely amazing.

Best was the tweet ECIII sent out after it.

@EthanCarterTNA:
Never thought when I was kid, live at 1st Edge/ChristianVSMatt/Jeff ladder match that Jeff would one day BEAT ME WITH AN UMBRELLA IN A SHACK

It still cracks me up :lmao:

Such a great idea. TNA creative should get a pay rise, clearly Christy Hemme is making the gears move.

I wish TNA was doing tapings in Orlando or Tampa in June. My boy from Cali is coming for a visit.

- Thursday's episode of TNA Impact Wrestling, featuring Eric Young's World Heavyweight Title victory, drew 1.42 million viewers for a 1.02 rating.

This was the most-viewed show since February 6th. Impact ranked #23 overall for the night on cable. This week's viewership was up 27% from the previous week.

The streak ends
Ultimate Warrior dies
Dixie Carter's return draws an audience

This is the worst fucking week ever.

I feel as if she needs to remain of screen for as much as possible. She's not bad in my eyes, it's just too much authority on wrestling we need something different.

She seems to have improved on her mic work. I thought that she took ages to get to her point and added in unnecessary lines. She wasn't that bad though and I hope she doesn't get involved in major stories. Roode vs Bully better stay with just the two of them.

How do you guys feel about Dixie Carter, the on-screen character?

Hit or miss for me. There are times she hits it out of the park, and then there are other times where it feels like time pulls to a crawl and it's such a fucking chore just to get through her segments.

I view her in a lot of ways the same way I did Hogan or Bischoff or any other authority type — with a minimized role, where they are only there for the segments they need to be there for, it's totally acceptable. The problem is, it's like a power drunk thing, and these characters often want to be involved in far, far too much.

I'm not an out & out hater on Dixie, but I don't need to see her on a regular basis. She tolerable to an extent. But not too much.

Dixie's problem is just overexposure, which is exacerbated by how much fans have grown to dislike her over her incessant yellow journalism social media techniques and the state of TNA, of which she is the President, and bears the brunt of (whether it's her fault or not).

After watching Sanada's vignette, I am convinced he should dye his hair black and change his moniker to "Bruce Sanada".

This seems like a suitable place to post this. Kaz and Daniels appeared on Joey Ryan and Candice LaRae's YouTube show and took a couple shots at TNA, for not selling their merch, not using them, forgetting they were in a stable (weren't they in a stable with Bobby Roode?), having them feature on a ONO Special (they didn't know in this video what the special was going to be themed) and it seems a slight jab at not being paid on time, as Kaz says he wishes he could work the indies again so he'd be paid on time.

Also they basically said once their contracts are up people can expect Candice and Joey vs. Bad Influence in PWG, which is going to be awesome. Enjoy.
