Impact - October 21, 2015

You could cut this whole thing down so much if it wasn't for the time stuff. I really don't need to have TNA try to convince me that Brooke or Mandrews could be the World Heavyweight Champion.

I'm kind of glad they're airing some clips of matches instead of the full thing. I'd like to see the whole Series, but I think I can live without seeing Crimson vs. Jesse Godderz and Eli Drake vs. Micah in full.

IDR has an infant still. I meant to post the LD earlier, but just forgot. Once I realized it like a half hour into the show, I figured KB would have opened it anyway since it's usually he and I just chatting the entire night anyway.

We're the only two stalwarts from the old days left. I remember a time when TNA had the biggest LD in forum history. Now we can't get to a second page. It's very telling.

Yup. Plus, good as the matches themselves are, this whole World Title Series is boring television. And it's just going to get worse until they get to the end stretch when people will actually care.

When'd TNA have the biggest LD in forum history? One of those stupid controversial moments where everyone came in bitching kind of thing?

1/4/10. So yeah kind of.

And yeah we're sitting through basically eight to ten weeks of qualifying matches. That's dull stuff, especially when a lot of them are going to be meaningless as you know some people have no chance. I really don't need to see Micah vs. Crimson for eight minutes for an alleged chance to win the title.

Well, shit. I went into it expecting to read some regrettable comment or two from me, but turns out I wasn't even in the LD. I guess I guess this predates when you finally got me to start participating in them?

I'm guessing so. It's really scary how far things have fallen in just a few years and so much of it changed that night.

Even if you don't use that as the barometer. Even if you use LD's from a few months after that point, or even through to '11 and '12... to see where they are in '15 where you and I are fighting sleep just to make it through. It's sad, is what it is.

It is, but so many of the problems that you could see building back then are reality now. It's one of those things where they never put the brakes on and just let the Hogan/Bischoff time dominate everything and it never recovered.

NSL kind of nailed it...

"Either way, Bret Hart hosting RAW will mean just about nothing a year from now. TNA either becoming competition, or beginning their march to doomsday means a lot more to the history of wrestling."

It does, though at least the Bret return gave us a nice moment. I can't think of anything nice about the entire TNA show, save for maybe the main event.

Well, the show was exciting, even if it wasn't logical. Hardy's return alone was incredible, because it kind of came out of nowhere. Same with Flair's debut.

That's something TNA used to be able to hang their hat on. Even when not logical (which is often), it was exciting. That's what's been missing for a long time now. Excitement. Legitimate excitement.

What's the last angle they ran that had it, that actually got people talking about the company? "They"?

That's the line I used at the end: it was exciting but not good.

Yeah probably THEY. That was an awesome angle and their big idea was to take their most popular guy and turn him heel. Brilliance again.

It was also that Hardy was third in command and an afterthought. That whole thing was about Eric and Hulk and that's not good.
