If You Were TNA Who Would You Sign From the Independents?

jamel21

Dark Match Winner
If you were head of talent relations for TNA who would you sign?

I'd sign Delirious I think he'd fit there.

1. Adam Pierce
2. Petey Williams.
3. Davey Richards.
4. Mike Quackenbush..
5. CM Punk.
6. Michelle Mccool.
7. Batisita.
8. Candice Michelle

and more

TJ Perkins, Eddie Edwards, Mike Bennett, Paul London, Kevin Steen, Roderick Strong and maybe Johnny Goodtime

100% Agree with Adam Pierce. Pierce has had some great matches in the last year with the likes of The Universal Soldier Phil Shatter aka Gunner, and Blue Demon. Another one I like is a guy that reminds me a lot of Sabu, NWA North American Heavyweight Champion Sheik. His match with Shatter was off the chains.

Mad Man Pondo

I'd sign Austin Aries , Low Ki , & Jimmy Yang

Because they have all recently impressed me in the triple threat X division matches

Even though Aries & Low Ki are in the running to win a contract in that match , both can't win. Jimmy Yang already lost. I'm just saying I'd sign all 3

Also of course , if CM Punk really leaves WWE I'd sign him in a heartbeat and for any ammount of money he wants

I'd also try to get in touch with Tyler Black and talk him into quitting his WWE developmental contract and coming to TNA

Kenny King
Shelton Benjamin
Charlie Haas
PAC
Ricochet
Kenny Omega
Davey Richards
Kevin Steen
Paul London

I assume guys like Low-Ki and Austin Aries either are already signed, or will sign soon.

Although I think alot of the guys already meantioned could add alot to TNA's product I'm gonna stick my neckout and say something different. Paul Birchall (remeber him?) perhaps the biggest active name in british wrestling not signed to a major company. He's a big man who is extreamely agile (capable of a shooting star press) has a killer finisher (the C4) and can talk. He is ex WWE but was mis used by them but has all the skills to fit in well with the TNA style.
I'd also love to see Austin Aries and Prince Devitt in the X division

well i think it all depends on how they are used.

while i hate tnas booking like how scott steiner last week was in a bad feud with bully ray and now this week they are alll buddy buddy.

sorry back on topic. but think of it like this while tna takes alot of recently wwe stars that left. i feel they should use more independents and use them better i feel it really dosent matter who they book as long as they are booked more properly.

heres who id sign

1. Kings Of Wrestling- i know there rumored to be heading to wwe but there a GREAT tag team and id love to see them facing beer money, ink inc,gen me and even motor city machine guns down the road sometime great addition to the tag divison.

2. no matter who wins the ultimate x match for a contract id make sure both low-ki and austin aries stayed with the company as there both really good in the ring.

3. Daffney- i know she has issues with the company right now (lawsuit) but she was good in the ring id keep her around to add talent into the knockouts divison which is already good imo.

4. Taylor Wilde- i know shes retired from wrestling BUT she was GREAT in TNA id love to see her come back full time and wrestler there again!

5. Roxxi- bring back the voodo queen to improve the knockouts divison she was good back in the day

I wanted to say nobody considering how packed their roster is already. Instead I'll go with Petey Williams because of his Canadian Destroyer. That's the only reason too lol. Put that move on the commercials and you're guaranteed a few new viewers. Maybe even have him deliver 3 Canadian Destroyers in a row to a whole faction. Instant star in my book and a clip that could haunt the internet forever. Wrestling Matters. If you're gonna use the phrase then you need the sickest moves.

If I had a hand in Impact Wrestling I would give it a complete overhaul. Cleaning up the roster of many unnecessary faces and restocking it with some new and old faces alike...

IMPACT WRESTLING 2.0

Complete Revised Roster

Kurt Angle, Mr.Anderson, Rob Van Dam, Samoa Joe,
Douglas Williams, Brutus Magnus, Brother Devon, Eric Young, Sting,
Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, A.J. Styles, Kazarian, Robert Roode, James Storm,
Pope D'Angelo Dinero, Brother Ray, Hernandez, Brian Kendrick,
Alex Shelly, Chris Sabin, Amazing Red, Christopher Daniels,
Max Buck, Jeremy Buck, Winter, Angelina Love, Velvet Sky,
Christy Hemme, Madison Rayne, Tara, Mickie James,
Taz, Mike Tenay, Don West

Roster Additions:

Chavo Guerrero, Desmond Wolfe, Hardcore Holly, Homicide, Kenny Dykstra,
Kip James, Low Ki, Mike Knox, Paul Burchill, Paul London, Petey Williams,
Teddy Hart, 2 Cold Scorpio, Justin Credible, Kid Kash, Raven, Rhino, Carlito,
MVP, Solder Ant, Fire Ant, Tommy Dreamer, Sho Funaki, Taka Michinoku, Val Venis,
Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, Chuck Palumbo, Fit Finlay, Sid Vicious, Jim Cornette

I know it seems like quite the large roster but it is more or less the same size as Impact Wrestling's current roster and not having to pay the wages for dead weight like the likes of: Hogan, Ric Flair, Easy E, Matt Morgan, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Scott Steiner, Crimson, Robbie E, Cookie, and Shannon Moore, among several others would likely cover the wages of any and all additions. And in doing so would provide for a much more entertaining show based more on 'the wrestling' rather than being bombarded with constant aimless in ring promos with crusty fossils and televised matches with unsatisfactory endings.

The type of roster you're asking for is the roster the likes of which TNA started with but not bad but heres some cons. Palumbo, Finlay, Raven, Rhyno, Vicious, Dreamer, Justin Credible, Hardcore Holly, and Chavo are all up their in age and are mostly WWE-ECW rejects. Also guys like Crimson and Shannon moore can stay in the roster. Moore's Prince of Punk gimmick is good and Crimson is a New Breed no pun intended.

they all may up up there in age but they all still can perform as they all still wrestle avidly in independent promotions all over north america, other than potentially vicious. raven, rhino, and credible actually recently wrestled in my hometown as a part of our independent promotion here and each of them put off quite the excellent show. and i know both chavo and fit finlay have years of entertaining left in them, it's in their blood and the knowledge they both have of the wrestling world must be passed on to others. from roster, to trainer, to backstage hand as time goes on.

i find crimson has a very limited move set and moore is too hip to be punk and generally pulls off boring to mildly entertaining matches at best. i do like jesse neal somewhat though despite cutting him from my roster above. no real reason for cutting them other then a personal distaste and couldn't think of a good way to book any of them really.

1.Kings Of Wrestling Cladio Castongoli Chris Hero
2.Eddie Kingston
3.Davey Richards
4.Austin Aries
5.Lowki
6.Worlds Greatest Tag Team

Basicly All the top tallent in Ring Of Honer which they probably won't get but they could bring back jay lethal that would be nice and bring back Sonjay Dutt.

7.Taylor Wilde-----To Taylor Wilde-----Get Your Ass out of Retirement your a to female tallent i love watching and not just because you look good.

to jjdoyle_canada
From King Kanyon No Offense but i like the current roster all the guys on here are old though i like some of them the only person I would add on you'r list is Carlito I think hes got main event potential besides hem Chavo but everyone else have seen their best days on american tv. Taka seriously you could have at least said Tajiri. Ps Paul Londons good to.

I would keep Kurt Angle,RVD,Sting,Beer Money, MCMGs,AJ Styles, Daniels, Samoa Joe,Doug Williams, Hernandez, Gunner,Anderson,Bully Ray,Abyss,Kaz,and Generation Me.For the knockouts :Sarita,Mickie James, Angelina Love,Velvetky,Tara, and Madison Rayne. New addition would be C.M. Punk,The Briscoes,Chris Jericho,Sterling James Keenen,Joseph Von Schmidt, American Wolves,Judas Messias, Mschif,Sara Del Ray, LufistoJessicka Havoc and I would try to talk Awesome Kong into returning after her preganacy.

You're releasing pretty much most of TNA's company leaving them with probably about 7-10 superstars. I like your roster imrpovements but alot of the people you're signing will just turn TNA into an Indie Company and probably won't bring ratings.

You're releasing pretty much most of TNA's company leaving them with probably about 7-10 superstars. I like your roster imrpovements but alot of the people you're signing will just turn TNA into an Indie Company and probably won't bring ratings.

You'll have to explain the Indy company part to me as I would bring in several well known names in the Wrestling and Entertainment industry. I'd also argue TNA already looks pretty Indy still. But I would counter that with the following:

Luke Robinson, the runner up on touch enough who stole the show. I looked around online and if the WWE gave him a contract they're being tight lipped as he isn't listed anywhere as a WWE Superstar. But he IS a known name and commodity right now, the E already invested alot of TV time into him. I would say the ratings impact(no pun intended" of Luke Robinson showing up in TNA would be bigger than any of the releases I would make aside from maybe Jeff Hardy.

Joey Styles would do more for TNA than Taz has. It would also look big, like TNA just signed away a WWE guy.

Jeremy Borash(Who?) replaced by Candice Michelle(Oh, the GoDaddy girl). That is self explanatory. Candice is known inside the ring and out. Having her replace(on air) a guy only WCW and TNA diehards would be a step UP from looking like an Indy.

Chavo Guerrero, Serena Deeb, Sylvain Grenier, Kevin Thorn(Btw the WWE canceled their trademark on it, he COULD go to TNA with the name/gimmick), Ariel(Same as Kevin Thorn), D.J. Gabriel and Trevor Murdoch are already somewhat known or pretty well known names. All aside from Chavo are also younger.

I'd also counter with that it would still be TNA, the roster is still full of "TNA" stars and knockouts.

TNA Originals/Semi-originals on the roster:
Alex Shelley
A.J. Styles
Bobby Roode
Chris Sabin
Christy Hemme(She's been around long enough, noone thinks WWE when they think of her)
James Storm
Kurt Angle(Denouncing the WWE makes him ours)
Magnus
Matt Morgan(Again, he's synonymous with TNA now)
Mike Tenay
Sting
Velvet Sky
Petey Williams
Jay Lethal
Homicide
Rhino
James Mitchell
Don West

You're still keeping and bringing back TNA's best talent. The only difference is you're adding TO the talent pool with some more known faces and some fresh new faces noone has seen yet. It would also be a rebranding of sorts, which TNA needs to keep doing. One last thing I would argue is TNA needs to beat WWE in the different aspects they can. Looking at the roster I propose....

I'm not sure how that looks Indy fed when it beats the WWE in everything but production values and eye candy.

Joey Styles has a cushy job, that he claims to love, as head of the WWE's website.

He is surely making more money and has better job security in that role.

Also, as much of a Styles mark as I am, I'm not sure the dynamic of a Joey and Tenay booth would work. Joey Styles works best either on his own, or with a comedic presence(like Gertner), or heel foil(like Callis).

Though it may be what is best for the company, I feel it would be hard for Tenay to transition from play-by-play back to more of an analyst role. However, if he could make the transition, than Styles would be a good addition to the current booth as the lead play-by-play with Tenay and Taz sharing the analyst role. It would be reminiscent of the Schiavone, Tenay, Heenan team from WCW. Yet Taz would still be necesary as "heel-leaning" comic relief, plus he adds credibilty to the booth due to the "in-ring experience" factor. Some of Taz's shortcomings would be hidden by less talk-time.

But, as I said, its all for naught because Joey is not leaving his WWE position.

Paul London, Austin Aries, Davey Richards, Pac, Kenny Omega, Kevin Steen, Prince Devitt, Aero Star, Eddie Edwards, Sid, Sugi, Briscoes, then i would take Kenny King and MVP and Jay Lethal and i would say the Pope if not in TNA and make them into a killer all black pride group kind of like nation of domination and make them into a top stable. We havent seen that done in forever. R truth is tearing up the mic and wwe right now with that character and he is over with the crowd. Think of the hate those 4 guys could draw. it would be huge.
